Yes the latest Direct X fixes some bugs in 3D audio, go install it! It definatly fixed my freezes, had no more since doing the update

Have you installed the December 2006 Direct X? They fixed a bug in the 3D Audio that causes freezes, my machine would randomly freeze in guild...
