It seems (maybe just my imagination) that the mobs try to target the weakest (i.e. lowest HP). They tend to go after characters that have a high...

To clarify and expand (I hope): Creatures that drop armor that has gold, purple or blue text have runes. ID the piece to see what the rune is....

A lot of ice thingies around there (sorry .... forget their names), so hydro might give you better protection.
