No reason to not use Lightning Reflexes if you have AP. Use a dagger chain and follow Horns of the Ox or Entangling Asp with Bestial Mauling.

I have a nice Axe build for RA/TA, don't know if swords would work as well because they don't have an unconditional deep wound. Mysticism...

I'd just stick with E/A green farming. There's a smiter monk boss in RoT, forget the name, but you can kill him for elite monk tomes...
