Change and Adapt, to do or not...
Phoenix Ex
3 months after the MM nerf outrage, and before that the AoE AI update and many more updates before that, another patch has caused an uproar in the GW population.
And as always, post after post of "change and adapt" pops up everywhere in response to the negative outrage.
Shouldn't a line be drawn somewhere? Because seriously, even if the warrior's armor is cut in half he can still survive with dolyak sig + mass enchants. And the "change and adapt' chant is still valid...
But with every person that actually did adapt, one would probably leave the game. Many would say "good, its better if you leave", but is that what we really want? Getting more and more people to leave? I can just imagine people starting to complaining about low population and people would say "change and adapt, play with henchies only in PvE and PvP"
Joking aside, I really think people need to be more "middle-ground" and actually think whether the patches are reasonable or not, instead of just blindly defending or complaining about ANET.
Maybe then we can actually have a decent discussion about patches...
/End whining (or argument depends on who reads this)

I like the new update, now I can BBQ wammos!
Hehehe... looks like ritualists won't be short on ashes for a looonnngg timmee. They need to make a new skill called empty urn for all the wammos that are about to be baked by us elementalist who have been left in the shadow of ignarance for so long.
Arise my elementalist friends! It is now time for vengence! The great trogdor...erm rodgort has spoken! He says...
BURNINATE THE PEOPLES!!!!
Anyway let's hunt those wammos don't and kick them while they are down with our leet elemental skills that knights armor no longer protects them against. I heard theres some giant wammo strike going on... why don't we start there?
LF 1000 more echo nukers/starbursters for tank farming add self!!

are people still looking for 'nukers' in their groups?
are people still looking for 'MMs' in their groups?
after every skill change, you have the raging pve player coming on, making his 1st post in months to let everyone know he's upset, holding his breath till he gets what he wants and throwing his toys out of his pram. we get the pattern already.

The update is fine. Warriors will nto go extinct, or for that matter, lose any popularity because of it whatsoever. You can teach a monkey to tank, and thats the only thing is REALLY affects.
Sanji
Minion Masters still trivialize most PvE and the AoE nerf patch also pretty reasonable considering how sick AoEs were, whether soloing or grouping AoEs were good at ruining herds of monsters.
Where they harsh patches? Sure. Game breaking? Absolutely not.
I feel the same regarding the Warrior patch.

These "deal with it" people are getting really disgusting. Bunch of friggin cowards. Seriously, it's their answer to everything.
-Don't like an update?: "deal with it."
-Think a boss is overpowered, and is?: "deal with it."
-Tired of people treating you like crap in game?: "deal with it."
-Keep getting scammed so you try and motivate the community?: "deal with it."
-Thin a particular aspect of the game in general or anything at all needs a change or fix?: "deal with it."
Frankly, screw talking, I want these people to just shut the heck up already. They don't say anything else, it's like they're braindead and devoid of all feeling. I swear, I could probably pluck the eyes out of one of them and their only response would be: "deal with it."
However, I would like the community to be able to vote on important game changes like what happened. That way A.Net would have never done such rediculously stupid thing and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

since I've been taking my warrior into aspenwood/quarry in place of my necro, I still don't take that much damage from eles, thought it's fun to chase them around till the juggernaut comes over for a go<.<

THe thing that pisses me off is, they took SO DAMN LONG to change this. I used to think you needed all pieces for it to reduce damage. Learned it waswrong, bought 15k armor. THEN AFTER THAT, they decide to change it... Thats retarded.
did the AOE nerf require you to lose 100k in armor? no
did the MM nerf require you to lose 100k in armor? no

Now tank fights will looks like this:
Tank 1: *elemental resistance*
Tank 2(with elemental weapon): haha noob, *wild blow* gg because now everything owns you. charr now can hit you for 3 damage, haha.

It was pretty ridiculous that only one piece provided damage reduction the entire body.
It became even more ridiculous when it became common knowledge and taken for granted.
I do agree they should have fixed how damage reduction worked about... 3 Anet "soons" ago. (IE: Shortly after Prophecies first came out)

i can compere this to sequals of other games,
at the press release of a game one of thier favorite phrases is
"were listeniing to the fans"
why?
are the fans of the game professinal game devs?
no?
well then A-net has the right not listen to every ten year old who wants the lvl cap raised high than there own height, every person who thinks that to Buff/Nerf "enter named skill here" would be a good idea.
granted there are people who play this game and actually now a thing or two about how it works.
but at the end if the day its anet who decide what is and isn't done, regarding game play balence.
if u don't like it,
u can stop playing this subscrtion free game,
or u can deal with it.

Exactly, It only made sense to wear one piece then. Now it has turned to a waste.

Remarking on fellow players stupidity when no proof that you do not henchway missions.
Misunderstanding of community.
Have you ever even talked to these people? Most of them understand why level 20 is cap, why conjure nightmare costs 25 energy, why you need team builds, and why money does not drop always for you.
I can give you the one best example I have seen tonight. I had finished GvG for the night with my guild, and a few of us and a member of the alliance decided to kill Rotscale. We started out, and slowly fought our way to majesty's rest. After getting there, we made our way to rotscale. My guildie bought us 10% morale, and the +25 max health and +3 health regen. We lured, and killed many of the glitched monks and archers. Finally, we took on rotscale himself. We spent well over 30 minutes slowly killing him. When his bar was below the level 30 part, we made an agreement. Seeing as I thought the bow still sold for 100k, we decided whoever got it would sell it, and we each would recieve 30k. However, when it dropped for our alliance member, he equipped it, said meh, okay skin, then handed it to my guildie. He found out it was only worth 30k, so we sold it, each got 10k, and recieved faith in people you don't know, faith in other players, and faith in patience.

extra armor isnt as much of a difference after 100 AL. -2 dmg off of every attack after figuring the armor in, is a HUGE deal. get it through your thick heads

nice to see the 'deal with it' fools cant read and still post their same old tired drivel.
it was in my thinking that patches for other games add things to the game and fix aspects of the game. anets patches just seem to detract in the majority.
i feel sorry for those who bought 15k kurzick/luxon boots or helm.
gw chapter 10 - everyone has 1 armour except warriors who have 2, all spells/skills nerfed to 1 damage but to please everyone the minipets now have minpets

yamero: Yeah sad, but it's always a good thing you get surprised. I'm sure GW will survive through chapter 3. And people saying "omfg im out of here Mending dont work with echo" usually stay and play the game.

like this update...
as a hardcore fighter type fan since diablo/baldurs gate that last update almost gave me a heart attack...
i really worry about what theyll do next..
but this is not the time or place for that kind of talk is it?

I'm also getting tired of the people who basically seem to think you should just lap it up and kiss butt, even when things are obviously not as they should be. Maybe some folks are happy to feel misled and/or feel they're cheated out large amounts of effort in some cases.
Just because some parts are good/great does not automatically mean everything is great and there should be no feedback or criticism at all about things which upset players.
If people kept their discontent about things quiet and "dealt with it" the world would not have got much further than the stone age (if even that far). Deal with that.

Yay for change.
I always thought it was a little extreme that my W/Mo could take on a huge mob of Ice Imps by himself, enjoyed it while it lasted. But even after the update, I still play on my Warrior and enjoy doing the missions just like I did before. The Drok's run is still possible... so no big loss there.
Truthfully, if you cant solo a huge mob, then ANet has done what they've been trying to... making GW into a TEAM game. Although most updates are aimed at the PvP realm, this will also cut down on solo farming (at least for the wammo). If anything, I'd worry about the 55's, the nerf bat may swing your way soon enough.
And yes, for those "deal with it" posts, this type of argumentation is oversimplified, no support, no counterpoint, no relevence... To Xenrath, I appreciate your position on this, and I don't bash anyone who posts for or against the issue, but if they dont have any type of support for their position or even an attempt at it, then it's nothing but a waste of bandwidth.

to show that level of loyalty to a company is pathetic especially when said company is destroying what once was a very good game.
these are the people who will be cheering when anet replace warrior weapons with pillows cos you can still play as a warrior but you can adapt and push all the stuffing to one end and get a slightly harder hit.
there really is no point in arguing with the 'live with it' brigade as the majority dont have the intelligence to question, they just blindly obey.

With any luck all the whiners will rage quit making PUG's a definate possiblilty again. I suspect that most whining couldn't play for shit anyway, hence all the anger. All their crutches have been removed.

To all those "Get over it or leave" people out there.
Yes, they will leave which means that their will be less server loads, more room. These people will also not buy the beloved future chapters; no big deal you say people will always continue to buy GW. So what happens when im shopping for a game and see someone looking at GW? I will tell them from experiance wht the game is like and they may or may not buy it. No big deal.
Now what will happen if everyone who chooses to leave does this? How long will GW last with ppl not buying future chapters? Sure there will be alot less server load; before too long there will be so little that it becomes not profitable to run those servers. Exactly how loyal to you do you think A-net will be to you, the same one that said "Get over it or leave"? Do you honestly think that the second they stop turning a profit from chapter sales they will just "Get over it".. I dont, I think they will choose the leave option too.
Just my 2cents.

I know some changes are rather harsh and radical, but as far as I'm concerned, they've all been for the good of the game itself, not for the good of some few people who keep constantly whining for every little change.

Personally I agree that all of those using 'adapt or leave', 'learn to play' or other clearly antagonistic, thought-devoid coments are wrong in using them. Yet, at the same time, I don't think warriors suffered that much. Yes, absorption has been nerfed .... but warrior damage and AL hasn't, and both are very, very good.
