seriously anet you guys are the best. I'm looking forward for chapter 3. The soon to come profits, from the slots, will help you guys make super awesome future chapter campaigns. dont let us down.

Swinging Fists wants a much more recent poster to confirm that he actually purchased a character slot, as it seems no one else can access the store at this time.

The post above me already addressed this, but I had already seen that screenshot, and I took another look at it at Loviatar's suggestion. But, that screen shot does not tell me that the account shown was not a PlayNC account. That is why I asked for confirmation of my specific question.

Dear ArenaNet/NCSoft,

For the past two years I have thoroughly enjoyed Guild Wars. From my experiences as a Co-Guild Leader, to a rank 55 GvG team, to a member of the alliance controlling House zu Heltzer, to doing all of these simultaneously in addition to the daily joys of green farming, mission completion and character advancement, this game continues to surprise and fufill. Unexpected surprised await me nearly every day between the holiday events, skill balances, and bug fixes.

However a recent dilemma has arisen that I feel requires remedy. I have money and I want to give it to your companies. It sits there in my checking account, taunting me daily, reminding me that it has not been spent. I am further reminded when I log on to the game to see my sad, lonely 6 characters and now I must endure the bitter reminder of "6/6 character slots in use"!

Help me Anet! Help me PlayNC! Help me to remedy this problem! Give me character slots or give me death!

well, surely anet will get this sorted out, i'm just worried about what will be offered in the store... skill pins and t-shirts, or account titles and game currency

I think it'd be neat to offer the obvious character slots and hopefully Guild Wars merchandise, but please no in game items. Even though you said it won't be "needed" I find would find it more than a little annoying if you charged players for a new feature that though not required, would be extremely helpful to a player. For example, if you charged a fee to use an auction house. I will be extremely upset if something like this happens.

-Guild wars coffee mugs w/ character of choice
-New creation options
-Aution house(in a FREE global update)
-Purchasable dyes(to be bought at trader)

I too suffer a similar plight. Arenanet, please help me, I have TOO MUCH MONEY! I need to give them to you guys, quick! There's just oodles of cash flowing everywhere, under my bed, in my fridge, and even in my toilet! I need to get rid of them now... in exchange for some character slots would be nice though.

Is it just me, or... ummm... character slots are already an item held within the Guild Wars Store (as it is). So what this is for, is suggestions for other things besides that... ya sillies. Read a thread! :P hehe

Friend Chat- viewable/recievable by any mutual friend (this might be easy or hard.. im not good at coding messaging stuff)

I dont understand why everyone is so indignant about this... how is GW supposed to sustain itself without monthly fees? If you love the game so much, and clearly we all do, why are we so against supporting it? Seems to me some have us have been playing for so long we think we're ENTITLED to it...

The store isn't going to force people to stop playing the game to buy it. People who are mad that they're selling stuff are... mad. Who cares. I'm just not going to buy anything. I don't need more character slots or anything like that.

As far as entitlement and whether we should have to pay more to "support the product," well, I dug out my Factions box for kicks.

Thats on the inside of the Assassin side of the cover. And then again on both covers, it says:

So yes, I am entitled to play the game without a monthly fee. Which this store has nothing to do with. It's not about supporting, its about making sure features like an auction house and other game-changing devices don't have to be purchased.
