New update: Shop's Back

I just purchased an extra slot, even though I said i wouldnt.. but ya.

Currently, there are only 3 things available for purchase. Guild Wars: Phrophecies,Guild Wars: Factions, (both at $49.99), and an extra character slot for $9.99 You can create a PlayNC account from within the game. It has it's own username/password, NOT connected to GuildWars, BUT whatever account you logged in with to access the store, is given the things that you bought from the store.

Also, it seems that you can only buy these things with a credit/debit card. I saw nothing about paypal/money orders. Hopefully that part will change in the near future, and im willing to bet Nightfall will be added to the store

It is just prolly offers more slots to players that have the game already im guessing.

So that you could access 2 games (soon 3) with your new 1 slot.

that $40 isnt a linked account, meaning it will only have access to 1 chapter.

that $40 doesnt have all my unlocked items

that $40 requires someone to hold my stuff when i want to transfer between accounts.

and factions isnt $40, its $50.

Honestly, yes I can see this happening. Decrease the drop rate for ectos and shards dramatically and watch the cash roll in. It is possible, although not as probable; however, the chance of it happening is out there. The amount that I listed was just thrown out there, and actual prices would no doubtly be much higher.

I wouldnt be surprised if they offered UAX for older chapters.

So new players can get competitive in PvP quickly (without having to play 1-2 chapters just to catch up)

Izzy mentioned in the WOC interview how new players 3-4 chapters down the line would be at a severe disadvantage with the large number of skills and the fact that they have to go back and get older chapters.

So ya..."Unlock all Core Skills/runes/weapon mods" would be good.

because if I have factions with everything unlocked, then the 4 extra slots can share in that. If I buy a seperate game, then those 4 characters have to start from scratch. And since most people have both factions and Prophecies linked, the 4 new characters will instantly have access to both worlds. If I buy a seperate game, they will only have access to 1 world. Buying more slots makes more sense then buying a new game.

Unlock the entire map for $20.00 (USD)? That would elimintate runners too.

i for one am very happy about this upgrade and also happy to patiently wait untill it is available and i am also very happy to "buy my fun" as someone so eloquently put it... you buy all your other "fun", what makes this any different? gw is an awesome game and i'm quite happy to contribute to the continued success of anet and gw... other people just take any excuse they can to whine just becuase they can which in turn drowns out the people that are actually happy and content with the game.

They give you a set of runes and items that complement each other to help get you started. For instance, 7 ranger skills, a ranger elite, and a decent bow. Sort of like a pre-order pack. That way, when you start PVP, you have a slight advantage of being able to jump right in without the "tedious" journey thru PvE.

I doubt they'll sell ecto's or shards or anything like that, because Anet is always trying to neutralise the in game economy rather than blow it out completely. I bet its stuff like those preorder only dances and little glowing thingies.

Could you please post a screenshot of your character selection screen ? Also, could you confirm that I will be able to login using my non-PlayNC email account, and purchase a character slot using a separate PlayNC ID, and the character slot will be added to my non-PlayNC email GW account ? I believe that's what you said, but I want to confirm.

If unlock packs occure in the game, I will stop playing it. That's just as evil as making Ebay Gold legal.
