The store was never officially released. It was put up for testing which it obviously failed. I would expect the store to be back before the Nightfall PvP event.

peeps they are still experimenting this thing. Do not forget that there is a security issue involved with CCs and other payement methods.
On another note: who on earth is gonna buy 26 EXTRA char slots?? I mean, 6 from prophecies, 2 from factions and now 2 more from nightfall. This means there is no real need to buy more than 3 slots (1 for pvp use). Of course everyone has the right to see what suits him/her best.

Nope... then it wasn't an official release.
Just because the feature is there doesn't mean it's released and working. It's called Beta Testing.

Keep in mind that at the time of the "removal update" its only lunchtime in ANet land (12pm PST)... so id say its quite possible that within 5 hours, it could get resolved.
After all- once they get it working- everyone at ANet will be buying a new car... Id say they are trying their absolute hardest right now- they could stand to make 10 million dollars today.
I love ANet, i want to work for them.

the reason they would call is beta is just to save their butts if something goes wrong. if after a little while the beta still works, then they'll call it official ;P. in other words... it makes no difference to me. If it's released and it works, then yeah! if it doesnt work, then fix it. that's really all that matters anyway.

I wasn't able to get in, but I think, after reading the posts in this thread, they foresaw problems with people not knowing what they were doing, etc... I think they may be working on instructions for exactly what needs to be done for adding them to your acct, do you need a PlayNC acct, methods of payment, etc. I think, when it is "officially released", it will also be officially explained as to exactly what we need to do.
This thread is quite an entertaining read for those of us not in game, we see a progression of "OMG, a new button for a store", to "it doesn't work", to "here's a screen shot, you can buy slots now", to "has anybody actually bought one yet ?", to "OMG, the store is gone !!!". Fun stuff, and exciting as I look forward to getting my new slots...

It's obviously very smart of them to not have made a big public announcement for something like this. The servers got inundated immediately, and that was just because there's some people actually logging in and playing (gasp) and freaks like us on forums. A lot of people still don't know it exist(ed)s. So that helps slow down the load and make things run a little better for everyone.
Given that it system fell down anyway, it's a good thing not EVERYONE went at once.

I'd like to know if anyone successfully added an already used (from the player interface) CD-Key to their newly created plaync account?
Also, we have two PC's and two copies of GW and GW Factions - heaven forgive me, but I forgot to write which one is which. I absolutely don't want to bey two extra slots and have them appear on my husbands account! He only uses 4 of his 6 now!

I currently just use my email address as my GW account name. Since reading this thread I have come to the conclusion that I need a PlaNC account to buy the new character slots. I am not positive of this, but that's what I thought. So i created a PlayNC account, and want to add my currently-in-use access keys to the account. I don't know where to begin, and if this is possible or if this will trash my email-based account, and then i will have to use a PlayNC account.

we used to have the campfire theme
What i would like to see is Themes similar to the different Guild Halls- Id even pay $5 for a Sorrows Furnace or Underworld theme! Or a JADE login screen!
Even if its just the ability to pick which Chapter's theme you wanna use...
