New update: Shop's Back

I wasn't able to get in, but I think, after reading the posts in this thread, they foresaw problems with people not knowing what they were doing, etc... I think they may be working on instructions for exactly what needs to be done for adding them to your acct, do you need a PlayNC acct, methods of payment, etc. I think, when it is "officially released", it will also be officially explained as to exactly what we need to do.

This thread is quite an entertaining read for those of us not in game, we see a progression of "OMG, a new button for a store", to "it doesn't work", to "here's a screen shot, you can buy slots now", to "has anybody actually bought one yet ?", to "OMG, the store is gone !!!". Fun stuff, and exciting as I look forward to getting my new slots...

It's obviously very smart of them to not have made a big public announcement for something like this. The servers got inundated immediately, and that was just because there's some people actually logging in and playing (gasp) and freaks like us on forums. A lot of people still don't know it exist(ed)s. So that helps slow down the load and make things run a little better for everyone.

Given that it system fell down anyway, it's a good thing not EVERYONE went at once.

I doubt very much that they will change this. There might be a change in the char selection screen to a more Nightfall centric theme but they won't allow players to customise it themselves. It would be a poor marketing decision. That's their CI (Company Image) and it would be silly of them to let that go.

I'd like to know if anyone successfully added an already used (from the player interface) CD-Key to their newly created plaync account?

Also, we have two PC's and two copies of GW and GW Factions - heaven forgive me, but I forgot to write which one is which. I absolutely don't want to bey two extra slots and have them appear on my husbands account! He only uses 4 of his 6 now!

Before the change over to the new system of adding access keys you used to be able to go into "edit account" and then "manage access keys". That would then show you your full key that you added to your account. I just checked now and it doesn't show the full key anymore.

That is a bit silly of them.

I currently just use my email address as my GW account name. Since reading this thread I have come to the conclusion that I need a PlaNC account to buy the new character slots. I am not positive of this, but that's what I thought. So i created a PlayNC account, and want to add my currently-in-use access keys to the account. I don't know where to begin, and if this is possible or if this will trash my email-based account, and then i will have to use a PlayNC account.

any help please?

You can purchase temporary credit cards if you wish to not reveal your financial information. (Obviously, this has nothing to do with Guild Wars per se.)

Id like to see Themes available-

currently its the ocean themed one
we used to have the campfire theme

What i would like to see is Themes similar to the different Guild Halls- Id even pay $5 for a Sorrows Furnace or Underworld theme! Or a JADE login screen!

Even if its just the ability to pick which Chapter's theme you wanna use...

I'm in that exact same confusion..made a plaync account, clicked add keys, asks too choose an account name @plaync, but i've already got a game account.

I really liked the prophecies song, and the log in............dont really like the new opening song

I'm at the character selection screen but i dont see the store button like the screenshot anywhere. Did they turn it "off" or something?

The music is kind of boring and overdramatic. I want my dark campfire and OG GW music back ! =)

I bought my factions key with my plaync account, and just added it to my existant account, im not sure about slots, probably they will add on the logged on account

Guild Wars Shop is another way to spend more money without leaving the house. There goes my food money... ;(

ok so they put it up, everyone goes YAY! And they take it down, so then everyone is like wtf??? But they have to put it back up XD cause we want our slots!

my question is that little "updates" button - do we have to pay for updates now?

it might jus list new updates. they difinately wont charge for skill nerfs and the sort though so i wouldnt worry about that. also as it has been asked before has anyone BOUGHT any skill slots yet? if so screenshot it with 8 slots (or whatever u have)

but some people with lower-end video cards might REALLY appreciate getting rid of the Water Logon Screen in favor of the old Ascalon Campfire theme.

Id say half the fans like the lighter, more beautiful (it is) side of things... however me and my guild are on the dark side... and we want a 'more-evil' login. (and yo, I want a different song too- the current one is too over-dramatic and melodious for my taste- how about the 'rebirth' song!?)
