I know she says "I'll have to check" in those particular links, but she stated it as fact on several occasions.

As someone else pointed out, it doesn't matter what they tell us they're going to give us, because they also said that any storage upgrades would be made available to everyone, said that for over a year, and then made the materials storage Factions-only.

Other valid points:
*With the development and QA time necessary to add assassin/ritualist skills and armor they should know by now whether or not they are doing it.
*No news is usually bad news.
*ANet reps aren't always right.

Guess we shouldn't care what they say or don't say, since they can be wrong or change their mind and then say oh well.

ANet has said constantly that each chapter will be capable of being a full game without buying Prophecies or other chapters.

Skillwise, for PvE this can work fine as things stand -- you don't miss what you don't know about. But for PvP it leaves characters starved for skills that are considered critical and are available to your opponents.

The answer to that problem and additional skills for rits and sins (and paragons and dervishes in the future) might lie in the "skill packs" mentioned as a purchasable item in the new agreement. My theory is that they will be skills from Prophecies and other chapters, that you can get without buying that part of the game.

I wonder how many players will turn their SIN and RITs into storage MULE's if there is no longer any content support (skills weapons etc...) I also wonder if ANET does not add anything for the SIN and RIT if game magazines (PC Gamer etc) will lower their total possible scores for game reviews? Bad reviews is bad perception.

I don't care if ANET markets this as a stand alone, the majority of gamers & players see this as the GW No. 3 expansion and perception is 90% marketing and marketing is money. Bad marketing means bad money and lower overall sales. I agree with a previous post that said this chapter will make or Break GW and set the true standard for the future of GW.

as you can see all rumors and so called official statements and opinions have been sqaushed...

this post addresses the topic of which this thread requested...

all this thread is doing at this point is allow people to continue posting their opinions and theorize and claim them as official...

out of many threads that have been locked this is one that desreves it more than others...

I cant see how people can continue to argue with the post made by gale... hello there is an official statement saying nothing is official yet and when something does become official they will let EVERYONE know...

i dont think we will see a definite direction until chapter 4 or even 5.

based on this............

chapter 2 was more PVP oriented (not much for me)

chapter 3 is said to be much more PVE oriented (hopefully much for me)

they are going to be watching how Nightfall (PVE) is received compared to Factions (PVP) in the most important 2 areas which are sales (obviously) and more important LOGGED play habits.

if logged play shows a big leaning toward PVE you can depend that chapter 4 will reflect that and cater to the majority of the buying players whichever they are.

but they will have to gather hard data before they make their next move either way.

after 2 and 3 they will have a better look at who their main player base is and make a bigger move in that direction to see how that bigger move affects sales and playing.

i think we will be experimenting for several more chapters before actually settling down to a solid heading.

and yes this is just an opinion

One: I am beginning to agree; this should be closed, we aren't acomplishing anything.

Two: We should probably wait until the upcoming PvE before we do any more speculation.

they arent commenting because they haven made anything official yet... they havent decided so they really cant give an answer

they arent trying to hide anything from us they don't have anything to tell us period..

i don't know how many more ways i can spell it out... just sit tight they will let us know when they know

I do agree that it would be nice to get new skills for the classes, but im not going to complain if we dont get any.

You need to think of this game like a collectible card game, with each chapter being a new card set. Now in CCG's some new card sets introduce new mechanics that dont get used any more after that set. now that in no way makes the old cards useless, when in fact the old cards gain new possibilties because of new cards that come out.

its like the new skill sets. quite a few skills are more usefull when used as a secondary.

I just think people are worrying to much about nothing. A's and Rt's will be useless just like how tyria was supposed to be a ghostland because of factions

I don't expect my rit or assassin to become useless... I just expect them to become BORING to play.

I suppose that you can get more secondary skills regardless of Anet's decison, but with no weapons or armor skins to strive for... meh, what's the point lol. (That's just me though)

to me i could stay in my basic 1.5k armor for any number of chapters as long as i have CONTENT to use my character with.

come to think of it i HAVE stayed in my 1.5k armor so far.

to me content is new (and old) things to

do
see
explore

the weapon skins and high priced armor are not important at all.

and yes i could afford to 15k my characters and get them a flashy weapon but why?

maybe Nightfall will have something worth the gold but i will not spend simply because i have it to spend.

and they had so much potential too.... The Rit would make such a great summoner if they would put a little more effort into it. Usually boring to play equals deletion or Mule in my game.

you know new skills for the rt/a i could probably live without... though id still be concerned about balance and the loss of these characters... if im playing any other class i always take a rit now... they seem to be vital in a lot of areas... quite frankly id be pissed

but if they choose to not even include new items to support these two classes then they are directly responsible to destroying the classes...

and im not sure id have the desire to continue with the genre of this game....

Exactly, too much emphasis is on the (lousy) content that nobody really cares about, that gameplay is forsaken. No matter how good the "content" is, it is only to be great once, in faction for instance we are forced to play through it 8 times, how is that fun?

And that baffles me. I seriously can see only three options...

1) Yes, we will be expanding them (details to come later)
2) We are undecided.
3) No, at this time we will not be expanding them.

It's so basic that I can't figure out why they haven't said anything yet. However, I'm going to try really hard to not sound like I'm a demanding an answer lol
