Well I was hoping that we would not see a repeat of Factions Pre-order disaster. Again to a huge disappointment the blank stare on the guys face at Gamestop, when he paused to think if they got the prerelease pack I knew the answer was no.
Looks like it’s going to be worse this time around,
Any Stores carrying Nightfall Prerelease yet?

I don't get it ... I know how companies work ... obviously Amazon EB Games and Gamestop paid for advertisements on the Guild Wars website. You would think there would be some competence for getting this item out to the public because of advertisement. If I were ANET I would be removing the Gamestop and EB Games tag ad’s from their website and telling them THEY are giving ANET bad publicity for not carrying their product when it should be out.
The sooner we can just order these items form the in game store for delivery the better.
Thank you Amazon for at least saying you are out of stock.

I was disappointed as well by the pack not being at Best Buy yet, and, like everyone else I saw 9/24 on the website. I'll just periodically check a bunch of places.
Now, a lot of people feel ripped off about the $9.99 thing. I don't know who remember's Best Buy when Factions came out, but they formatted everything exactly the same, and all you had to do was bring in the pack and the receipt when you go to buy the full game of Factions. The $9.99 is credited toward the final purchase. I'm convinced that Nightfall will work the same way, there is absolutely no evidence it won't be.
One funny note was that the guy tried to keep the pre-release pack when I got the full version of Factions and I had to work a bit to convince him that I needed to keep the disc. I suppose I could have used it for $10 off another copy of Factions, but that would be ridiculous since there were still some preorder copies left on the shelf so anyone could get the pack with Factions for free even after the release date.

Whoever got their Pre-Release pack at CompUSA should receive some kind of award. I just called my local store (in VA) and was told that CompUSA doesn't carry that item....at all.
Gamestop, this afternoon when I went in, I was told that there was no such thing, but when I called this evening, was told it should be in tomorrow.
Best Buy doesn't have it, and I was told that NO video game was EVER released on a Friday, including Pre-sale/Pre-release packs.
This is beginning to feel like the whole Factions fiasco of "Shelf Date" vs "Shipping Date" all over again.

I wish Amazon.com had the preorder pack available...or at least the CE for Nightfall so I can preorder something.

They are closed now but I called 5 minutes before closing and they have four left. One was reserved for me at the Customer Service Desk, so I need to be there when they open. $4.99, refundable with purchase of the game.
Can someone answer some questions about it please?
1. Do I need to wait for the full game to get the extra character slot?
2. How do I access the free items now?
3. How can I play the WPE if all my character slots are full?
