It's not the right post, but I take the time to thank all the people involved in these incredible guides to achieving Grand Master Cartographer.

Livingston, I dreamt many times of sending you my Canthan map and asking you where I shall improve, but I took my courage with both hands and applied all of the valuable methods.
The GIMP superposition worked in the end, although it was grueling task! but I did it OMG I did it.

I feel stronger now to attack Elonia which appears a lot easier imo

Thank you all, starting with Livingston.

I downloaded trial version of Photoshop and try to scan my map. Now I have 97,2% explored, but I can see some more differences between 100% map and my map.
First I want to explore all without Tombs, which is 2% of Elona. Wish me good luck.

Echh. Tommarrow thx for scan, but now I have only 99.6%. Your scan gave me 0.1% . I visited all "circle" on map.
I give you next link with my map http://img243.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ormiel2gf9.jpg
I think it's last scan my map. Plz, find me 0.4%.
Thx for your help.

Tommarrow already said he's not doing anymore. Maybe you should double check the areas. He can't really just make you another map, it will just have the same areas.

So after taking a break, which wasn't really much of a break as people were still asking me to check maps in game, I decided that instead of becoming a hermit and just refusing everyone who asked (and having these guides means everyone asks), that I'd set up a service to do so. This way I can at least have some gold to accompany my eyestrain and headaches, which I never have time to make in game like a normal person.

It's a bit more than 5-10K, but I guarantee that if you checked 100 maps in the course of a couple weeks, or spent weeks trying to find the last .7% on your map, you would agree that the service actually seems to be a bit cheap.

I may not have as much experience with checking Elona as tommarrow has, but I think the number of maps I have checked in general far out weighs that.

In the past month alone I have checked 108 maps. That is since I have been charging for the service, before that when I was doing them on a volunteer basis, I was easily checking 4-5 times that number, and have been doing so for around 8 months. A rough estimate of that would equal 3-4000 maps. And the main maps I check are Canthan, which are the hardest to check of any of the continents.

So if you guys want your maps checked I'm your man.

Livingston Oh hm, never saw that before. I may use that as my Warrior should be approaching the frustration mark of not being able to uncover anything else soon.

Finally got it. Honestly, I thought this one was harder to get then Tyrian or Canthan. Dunno why. Most people say Elonian is the easiest...
Thx a load to Tommarrow, couldn't have gotten it without you.

Hi everyone, I have been trying to use the Photoshop method to find the last .6% but when I do it I do not see any white spots, i see mostly black map, with some dark rainbow like dots in diffrent areas of the map, some seem like they could be where i should explore but some are in the middle of the map where I clearly have walked through so do you guys think i should follow those spots or am I doing something wrong?

My suggestion is to skip the difference method. Instead set it up the same way but then switch back and forth rapidly between the layers. And then just try to pick up the differences with your eyes. It's a bit hard at first because you have to pick the differences between cloud cover and actual spots, but you get the hang of it after a bit.

Livingston I'm at 99.5% now, I checked out a few more places that the difference method suggested, but now I do not know what to do unless I go and wall hug every since area again which will take a long time and just don't have that kinda of time currently.

I have tried the method that you have suggested but don't seem to be able to see any differences. One thing that always seems weird is the small lake/river on top of the Holding of Choklin there is a ledge where it seems like it shifts over when ever I look at the map I get here, its like its deformed and I have walked that area twice now and nothing has been changed it always gives me the same effect.

I will try it again, and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the help.

Going to say this again. There is no point requesting maps because map requests are no longer being done. Tommarrow already said he's not doing anymore.

Livingston provides a pay-for-map checking service. PM him. Posting requests here is waste of time. Check for the service here:

Finnaly made it thanks to the efforts of Tommarrow who dedicated his time to chack my map, as he did with others.

Tommarrow thank you very much indeed as I could not have done it without your help.

On a similar note, I would like to suggest to the moderators that there should be a moderated forum section in recognition for people who through their efforts help other players.

Just a thought, as appreciations for work like Dougal Kronik (tyria cartography) Tommarrow and I am sure many others who have helped the people here without recieving any rewards, when posted in the appropiate thread (like this thank you I am submitting) get lost within the thread itself and in time loose its value.

WOHOOO!!!
