This is to make sure nobody makes the same mistake that I did.

I made a character immediatley after we were able to. I took the short quest in the begining tutorial area. While I was talking to the guy to go to the next outpost, I lagged out. I logged back in to see myself back at the tutorial area, I pressed M and noticed i had maptravel for that place unlocked, so i thought i was done with the quest. I went to the outpost, since I wanted to see my CE stuff. I talked to the guy to complete the quest, but Koss wasnt with me and I was stuck there, with my brand new minipet. Luckilly, I had someone to take it and let me transfer it to another character, but for those of you who are guildless, and dont have anyone else you trust, dont do /preorder or /bonusitems until you make sure you can continue normally with the game.

Hopefully, this bug is fixed, and theres another way to get Koss added.

I don't know why you think the current system is better, because the price of those runes is effectively *infinity*, because they are not even for sale, to anyone, at any price. There are probably people who would be willing to pay high prices for these. And if not? The price would drop until there were people who would be willing to pay.

It seems there is a resentful undertone of not wanting the OP to profit. It is pretty pathetic that people are envious and resentful of the initiative or success of others these days. Anyway, I just suggest you guys disabuse yourselves of the whole 'profit is immoral' concept, before you get out of school and enter the real world, and get slapped in the face with capitalism.

Gaile Gray has already addressed this as a bug that will be fixed in the nearish future. They never intended for minions to flee in terror as if dieing could hurt them any worse -_- So patience!

Like I said earlier. Just wait a few days for the supply to replenish. That is all.

Just so that its clear, when I made this thread, the thought of myself profiting didn't even cross my mind. I thought back to when factions was first released and the lack of materials available to everyone. People were able to charge any amount for iron ingot, tanned hides, and leather squares. Then I thought about the lack of runes available now. I thought to myself: "It really sucks that the trader is always out of runes whenever there is a spike in demand. I wonder what could be changed so that this wouldn't happen?"

To an extent, my making of this thread was from a self interested point of view in that I want to be able to purchase runes but I was also thinking about how the community as a whole would benefit from reprogramming the traders.

The reason capitalism is used in the real world is because it works. The reason I suggested implementing a more capitalistic method of rune and material traders is because they too, would work.

The OP is absolutely right, and this is coming from someone with a degree in economics. Prices aren't rising fast enough at the trader on these runes that are selling out. If they were, more runes not only would be available from less people buying from the trader but also more people selling to the trader.

The trader can only sell what people sell to him, this is how it's been for a long time and this is how it should stay. Things will improve in a few weeks.

Why was this thread merged with a bug reporting thread? This isn't a simple bug in the game, its a system which was setup incorrectly. Amins, I would appreciate it if you reversed the merging.

Is anyone having a problem with the quest where you choose a secondary profession?

My Dervish finished the Secondary Training quest and was then offered to choose a secondary profession. I wanted to wait before choosing so just as I almost pressed "escape", I saw they had an option of delaying making the choice. So naturally, I went ahead and clicked on that delay-choice button. But lo and behold, I'm suddenly a D/Mo...

So... when do I get a chance to change my sec prof?

Anything that limits a free market economy makes it difficult to have a real "economy". In this case it would actually be better if there weren't NPC rune traders- since it would be left up to the Live players to trade and determine the cost of the runes. Since the demand for the runes is outstripping the supply the price of runes should go up till they reach equilibrium. The trader NPCs are coded incorrectly so they do not raise their prices quick enough. This problem has nothing to do with it being a video game and more with the programming logic that went into designing the trader NPCs. There are millions of video games that are based around the concept of free market and trading- they do a great job of implementing it and defending the programmers because "it is hard to create an economy in a video game" is just a cop out that you know to be completely false.

Quote:
If you want to implement real world economy into games, the first thing I have to remind you is that your stock-up runes will deteriorate over time, it is called the faucet and drain system, would you really want that to happen?
The Faucet and Drain system is NOT a real world economic term. It was coined because of videogames. Basically, the rule states that video game designers will invent "gold drains" to rid the economy of excess money. They need to do this because, unlike real life, there are no bills for the characters to pay in order to exist and letting characters horde gold creates problems with game balance and expansion packs. These gold drains are often in the form of better armor, in game housing, or other unique items that can be bought. I don’t understand how you jumped from Faucet/Drain to runes deteriorating but you pretty much started off on the wrong foot so I am not surprised where you ended up.

Agreed. I think the quest, Ghosts in a Graveyard, from Blacktide Den can be annoying as the ghosts surround you and prevent movement and if you get squished into a corner you can't move. The only way I completed that quest was to never go near a wall and always to keep moving.

I also hope they fix the non-stacking item problem with dyes and other items that happens between items prior NF and items after NF.

Major bug at Churrhir Fields. My ascended D/W bought the skill Wild Blow from the Kamadan skills guy for 50 gold and 1 skill point. I changed my profession to D/Mo and talked to one of the expert monk trainers at Churrhir Fields. He taught me Banish. When I went back to town and switched my profession back to D/W by pressing K, I noticed the skill I bought Wild Blow missing.

When I go to the skills guy, it no longer shows up as known and I have to pay 60 gold and one skill point for it.

Now when I switch to D/Mo or D/N, all my secondary profession skills are missing.

I was able to salvage the situation somewhat by talking to the profession changer outside Sunspear Sanctuary and they managed to restore the default secondary profession skills. However any bought skills are gone and that includes Wild Blow.

I sent a bug report to Anet and they have referred it to the Game Support Department. So far no news

perhaps the equation for the double exp calculation works like this:

[2 X Sunspear exp tax (Factor= 50%) X Monster exp] = Double Exp + Sunspear Point per mob killed?

Naturally, i understand that it might be complicated to adjust all the armors affected by this change, and so, what all i am humbly asking for is that the shade of the black dye be fine-tuned so that the result be black on all armor.

It will be well worth it, for those of us who "need our black crack dye", to buy the dye again.

As you will appreciate from the replies i've gotten from my previous message entitled : "What have they done to our black dye!", others feel the same way.

To be honest, the thought of buying armor is somewhat uninspiring now that a stark black is impossible to attain.

Not to mention that there is a case for false advertisment here. The writing on the bottle does state: "Vial of Black dye"....

Other than that, Nightfall is absolutely wonderful! Best chapter yet. Graphics are awsome, gameplay is candy for the brain and the music is riveting.

So now, all we need, is black dye. . I mean, think about it, what would this little ninja emo look like with a purple hood...

Ty all for your time,

Misery
I dyed my dervish armor black and it seemed to have a purple hue up close but otherwise it seemed very black.btw it was blue/purple now that i think about it.

Something wrong with the "What do you do with a Drunken Shauben" quest. This is my second time attempting to do this quest. Everything goes well until you accually beat it. Once it comes time to walk the clansmen back to Blacktide, they we freeze in place or i get stuck every so often. The /stuck emote doesn't work.

Please anet fix this, i can't move on with the game until i get this quest done. I'm anal lol, but I really dont want to do the 4th mission until I get all quests done on the noob island

Yeah, I'm having issues with Drunken Shauben, too, and had the same issue with the quest where you're supposed to lead the Vabbi/Istani nobles to the Sunspear ruins place. Had to do the quests at least twice, and haven't been able to complete the Shauben one. It's painful just to GET to the drunkards. I nearly broke down and cried when I got stuck the second time I tried it.

But also, I don't think I saw this (I just skimmed the few recent posts), but camera issues. After the NF update, my camera goes ballistic far too often for me to adjust to it. I'll quote myself from another thread:

Quote:
I try turn my character 90 degrees to the left, s/he ends up looking 90 degrees to the right. Or I stop to cast a spell, and the camera starts spinning like mad all around the character. It's driving me nuts.
Or I'm just running and I stop, and the camera starts jittering spastically. It really hurts my eyes/makes me feel sick. I don't know if it's just my computer or something, but I never had this problem prior to the NF update.

quests: To Ask For More, What Do You Do with a Drunken Shauben and that ghost herding with a torch quest

problem: NPCs bodyblock heroes & hench resulting in either an endless rubberbanding lag or everybody getting stuck (having minions makes it worse)

(my temporary solution after restarting the zone 5times was sending hench & heroes ahead to do the fighting and to stay with the NPC herd behind on open areas where they couldn't block me.. though once i got trapped by a warthog)

When completing a mission that was 8 players (blacktide?), I got automatically transferred back to an area with a party size of 4. There I lost 2 henches and ended up with a party window of 6 / 4. I was able to leave the outpost with 6 in party.

A minor problem.

Has anyone tried the new /stuck command to see if it will warp you to another close spot? In another game I play, they have this command and it will warp you a little no matter if you are stuck or not, but you have to wait at least 30 seconds and have to be sitting since it's not instanced & you could use it as an exploit in pvp.

Well here is the reply I got from support regarding my question about dying while resigning from a mission.

Thanks for contacting the Guild Wars Support Team.

Why not just map travel out instead of resigning?

I am sure someone's mentioned these, but just to be on the safe side...

BUGS I'VE ENCOUNTERED SO FAR

- Lathenda (sp?) Bog Quest: to bring the spirits back to their grave: there is a bug with the torch. It seems that the NPCs (Heroes + henches + NPC spirits) are all following the torch. Somehow the torch ended up being trapped at a particular location. The NPCs would then not move from that spot. If I pick up the torch and move away, I will teleport back to the "sticky" spot after a certain distance.

- Dyes - there is definitely something wrong with the new dyes, none of them stack with the old dyes. However, depending on the dye, they do not even stack with itself. The new brown dyes are okay and does stack with itself.

I've noticed a couple of bugs so far in nightfall.

In the quest "the great escape" Even if you clear the map around the fort where the sunspears are held the doors won't open making the quest uncompletable unless you have necrotic traversal.

Another bug exsists with the "XP and promotion blessings" you can get anywhere from the preists.

Namely if you are blessed with then your team gets a wipeout and you respawn at a res shrine from then on
You no longer gain *any* XP or promotion points from killing THAT kind of monster you were previously Blessed to hunt.

The only way to fix this is to re-zone.

A third bug happened today with the mad king if somones inventory is full or get D/Ced the items that person recived drop on the floor of Lions arch I had to give somone there pumpkin mask today because the king dropped it and reserved it for me even though it was customized for somone else.

The one of the mission's after you get off the starting island where you have to free the centaurs from the prisons.

The bonus states free all centaurs (5 total). We freed all of them but got a 0 of 3 overseer's killed? and no bonus at the end.

I have encountered an identical situation to the following post; it appears to be an easily reproducible and very game breaking bug at this point to me. Personally encountered with a P/ wd char; lost a pile of Dervish skills I bought/capped.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Scroll stacking: I noticed this too, a newer scroll of slayer's insight won't stack with my old pile.

Destructive was Glaive: Maybe this is intentional, but the animation aoe for this skill fires twice if you drop the ashes before the ten seconds limit is up - once when you purposely drop it and again when it would have expired had you not dropped it. The second time doesn't do any more damage, so it's cosmetic (and a bit confusing when you see the same effect again later without damage).
