So I did that quest where you have to take the torch to ghosts and then take them to their final resting place. Unfortunately, if you cling too close to the walls when running around the ghosts that follow you bodyblock you and you cannot move. I gave up on the quest and wound up doing the primary campaign. If the ghosts would just randomly run around you instead of standing still, or if you could walk through them, It would remedy this problem.

Soo we've tried doing the mission in Moddok Crevice about 3 times... we FINALLY stop sucking only to be seperated not just by the cut scene but LOCKED GATES IN MISSION! >_< We didnt have any vamp weapons and even if we did our party leader didn't have rebirth, so when we finally traversed teh map to get to him we couldn't actually GET to him.... Fix this bugged mission before I cry... OH and Dunkoro is a day late and a dollar short on his announcements and advice in that mission as well.

EDIT: From the news of local chat in Moddok Crevice "If you don't want the glitch to happen you have to hit skip scene."

Anet guys I know you are REALLY busy already but this needs some serious attention.

Yeah, I was with Eviance's party in Moddok's Crevice. It was a most... disappointing end to the day. But then again, we were all the unofficial beta testers for Factions, starting April 27th on the Head Start event. I guess this shouldn't be surprising. Still, I feel a bit enraged. I could have been doing Something Else instead of playing the mission that everyone (but me, apparently) knows is bugged.

Henchies are still wasting all their energy at times, with Cast-Move-Cast-Move-Cast-Move in rapid succession.

LOL at the Alliance Battle glitch. That is just too funny. ^_^

INTERESTING NOTE ON HERO TEMPLATES:
If you load a template from a friend containing a skill you do not have unlocked....
... or if a template you load has a Signet of Capture within in.....

... the Hero's skillbar will flash briefly with the contents of the template, before it entirely vanishes. You must either unlock all the skills, or first load the template on another character and remove the Capture Signet and resave it, before a Hero can equip it.

More colored hair spots (see post #295 for the female Dervish example), this time with a male Dervish combo:



Has this type of hair problem been in the game for a while, with older campaign faces/hairstyles? Although I'm probably nitpicking, there's no way I'm going to use these combos if I'm going to see spots on zoom out. Hopefully this can get fixed. There are probably similar problems with other combos as well, and I encourage other players to test it out and report on it. Just don't show your headpiece, zoom way out, move the camera around your character, and see if any spots show up in your character's hair.

I tried looking for this, but gave up after a few pages...

My issue I have and so does a few guild members:

When I cast an enchant on my dervish, the camera goes crazy and begins to turn quickly in a circle...very annoying and I have to move the mouse to stop it. At first I thought they were attempting some type of cinematic thing here with the new char...then I brought my necro online and when I cast skills (enchants again) the camera goes in a wild circle...

happens even if i hit numb keys or click skills with mouse

After last night's build - which kept me from logging back into Yak's bend for about 30minutes (I checked with others in Yak's Bend - They had the problems, too), the Elementalist Attunements are STILL bugged.

Says "1 Energy and 30% of the spell's cost"

1+30%

But it's only giving back 30%.

I could really use that extra 1 energy - if you could just fix that, Anet, I'd be on my way, thanks.

All preorder/bonus items are immediately customized for the toon that spawns them, they cannot be traded/dropped or sold. They can be put in the trash can & if you hit /bonusitems again (in a town) they will spawn again). Once I added the preorder NF key, I now get the Game of the Year items AND my pre-order Derv & Para goodies. The nice thing is, that after I found a Exalted Aegis for 16.5k, I needed space & deleted my GotY Shield....well now I respawned it & use it on Koss along with my Icy Dragon Sword. I also like that between him & Devona I'm almost constantly in "charge"...and when I am just running to finish a quest, I equip mine & it's really nice.

You wouldn't have to worry about having a "uber pwnage" wep at an early level because you won't have the stats to use it anyhow.

It's likely because now you have a chance to salvage items and get more than one item from it. This is for items with mods that is.....I've salvaged 2 mods from items & still leave the item in tact which is really nice on golds/grapes since they are usually worth 100-250g...they were retaining their value, so salvage your 2 upgrades & still have something to feed to the merchant to cover the cost of the ID & Salvage kits

Also, about the post with the hero starter weps....they are JUST like your own starter weps, you can't drop or sell them, they have to be drug into your trash bin.

Big bug with Jokanur Diggings (as mentioned before in this thread): dialog with Kahdash isn't triggered and he doesn't move to open the last door.
This only happened when i was the quest leader. When i done this quest with someone else as team leader it worked fine. We were both Tyrian characters, so i dont think that origin is the issue.

Items wont stack in storage OR in character inventories!!!
(Mostly dyes...new dyes that i have found wont stack with my old dye piles, but i also had the same problem with Luxon Totems since the NF update...oddly, it doesnt seem to affect materials).

Hero AI will Fire "Whirling Defense" at the start of an attack command, regardless of if they have been attacked. This is generally a total waste of the slot.


NPC Allies, like the kind that help you, but aren't directly in YOUR party. Disregard the rules of the game in regards to Necro Pets. While this bug is fun, it CAN be exploited and needs to be fixed. Currently so long as there are corpses they can summon more pets.(IE Death skill isn't being factored in at all, or they have like 70 Death skill.....)

I've been seeing my heros repeatedly canncel their spellcasting at the start of a fight. Souske will occasional start casting Rodgorts, stop it(and waste 25e), then repeat, untill he runs out of energy. I've also witnessed this behavor on the monk heros using Heal Other, amoung other spells.

The Great Escape primary quest is bugged: the gates of the fort would not open even when all Kournan patrols around the perimiter (and in the area on the whole) are eliminated, and Commander Kubeh threatens to meet the intruders himself. It is impossible to get into the fort and complete the quest.

Another more sinister bug is with the expert skill trainers at Churrhir Fields. My D/W bought Wild Blow from the Kamadan skill trainer. He then switched his secondary to monk and talked to one of the expert monk trainers at Churrhir Fields and learned Banish.

Upon switching back to secondary warrior, Wild Blow went missing. Kamadan skill trainer wants to change for it again at a higher price than before.

Also upon switching back to secondary monk, all the monk skills went missing.

This is definitely a major bug.

1. Dyes

I dyed my 15k Kurzick armor with black dye in Factions. The resulting color was a mixture of black in gray in my opinion. The only part of the armor that wasn't dyed was the arm wrappings. After getting Nightfall I bougth a bottle of black dye and dyed them. The resulting color had different shade. It was more like black mixed with dark blue. My armor looks ackward now...

2. Original Hero's weapons

I upgraded weapons for my heros with the ones I found while gaming. The problem is I cannot get rid of the original ones. It's not possible to throw them out wihle outside of a town. It's not possible to sell them. It's not possible to salvage them using the superrior salvage kit. What's wrong?

3. Signet of Capture.

I noticed that signet of capture is missing from the SKILL merchant. I mean, sometimes the signet is available and sometimes it's not available to purchase.
Before the Nightfall, it was always available.

I have the same problem. The camera moves in the direction the spell was cast. If you fight a number of enemies you can go crazy from the camera movement.

Also, in Nightfall, when attacking a group of enemies the music changes to drum beat. This is totally annoying.

Press "I" now drag the hero starter weapon to the little trash can, problem solved. Same as with your own starter weapons & armor, they can only be deleted in this way as to keep the new player from accidentally deleting something.

right, this can be easily shown by using fire attune/flare anywhere. It's definately not giving the +1 energy, just the old 30%.

I posted this in the support section and sent a note to tech support on the guild wars site too. I tried searching on this and haven't found anyone else who wrote it up yet.

I was working on my survivor title on my paragon and I started the second mission in Nightfall where you have to take your Dervish hero. About less than a minute into the mission I realized that I hadn't set any Dervish skills for her. I don't know why, but I resigned from the mission instead of just mapping out and I died and it counted as a death. I've resigned from a mission in Factions before and it never counted as a death! Is this a new feature in Nightfall or a bug?

this might or might not been posted already, but search is nigh-impossible to use.

- design bug: bodyblocking npcs in quests. especially aggravating when you're just a dozen steps from finishing a quest and get pressed against the wall somewhere by the 8 drunken whatevers you are supposed to rescue in the bayou. same with npcs you are escorting getting stuck on other npcs.

- missing feature: inscriptions merchant.

The Max lvl Sunspear Title seems to be unachieveable due to the fact that once you get Sunspear Castellan you can no longer recieve the bonuses from the NPC at rez shrines. They say that you are a true champion and all this other good stuff. Apparently im not the only one with this problem unless there is some uber secret hiding place to farm it.

In the past few days I've noticed an ever decreasing number of runes available at the traders. Various necro, warrior, and elementalist runes are sold out which can only be explained by the high demand from heroes needing runes.

I completly expected this increase in demand so I stocked up on a number of runes (namely major vigor) in anticipation that their prices would skyrocket. I have no problems with skyrocketing prices. Its just something that happens in a free market economy when there is a high demand and low supply for items. What I do have a problem with is that a trader could simply run out of stock for various runes. Yet if you try to sell a superior death rune back to the trader, they will pay you very little for it. If the traders were programmed correctly, they would NEVER run out of runes. As quantities diminished, the prices would go up until enough people stopped buying those runes and started selling runes back to the traders. The current system doesn't allow for this. This isn't just a problem with rune traders, but also with material traders. Hence the traders always run out of stock when there is a high demand. Wouldn't it make sense that the traders jack up their prices when they run low on an item? The only way I could see the traders running out of an item is if the trader cap price of 100K was reached (as was the case for superior absorption runes a long time ago). If people are still buying the runes for 100K then it is reasonable that they would sell out. However, I seriously doubt that anyone would fork over 100K for a superior fire magic rune. Whoever programmed the traders seriously needs to take an intro to economics course. They would have learned that price caps result in insufficient supply.

And anyone who has a bachelor degree in economics and designed MMORPG economy will tell you that it is near impossible to build a closed economy in game due to the fundamental idea of gaming.

If you want to implement real world economy into games, the first thing I have to remind you is that your stock-up runes will deteriorate over time, it is called the faucet and drain system, would you really want that to happen?

Sid, Sid, Sid. Reading before posting is a good thing. I realize there is not an infinite amount of goods and I realize that the traders only have what is sold to them. What I have a problem with is the price caps on items.

Lets take superior fire magic for example. Lets just say that when Nightfall came out that the trader had 1,000 of these priced at 1K each. The first night of Nightfall, there were a lot of Ele heroes made and 100 of these were bought from the trader. The price should steadily increase as the supply decreases. So if there are only 900 runes available then they should be priced at 1.5K each. Lets say after the weekend, there were only 100 of these left (900 of them were bought). I would deem it reasonable that those 100 would be priced at 10K each. In this type of system, it is near impossible for traders to run out of runes unless somebody has a hell of a lot of money that they want to spend on superior fire magic runes. The beauty of this system is that once prices are high, people have more of a motivation to either go out and farm ettins for more runes or sell the runes they have in storage to the trader.

Anet's current system is more like this:

1,000 runes are priced at 1K each. 900 of them are bought and the remaining runes are priced at 1.2K each. 200 gold isn't enough of a difference to persuade people not to buy them so the remaining 100 are also bought. End result: No more runes.

They DO inscrease the prices depending on supply and demand, so I dont know why you're complaining. Except for the fact that you want the prices to go up even further to ridiculous heights. No thanks.

I never understood why they can't keep an infinite stock of runes.
I mean, the runes aren't luxury items, they are for your character's builds' customisation.

And don't say economics, the real world, those things have nothing to do with the happenings in game. Yeah yeah, the devs live in the real world so it affects them and therefore the game. Or if a plague wipes out humanity, there will be no players so the game is affected, or the government bans all games, the game is affected.
You could go on fooreeever about IFs.

The original poster is correct.

Notice how, as one example, Superior Death Runes aren't for sale now? Ever? You would think that over several days of selling these the instant it got one, the trader's algorithm would continue to slowly increase the sell price until it found a point where it doesn't sell instantly. If a rune completely sells out immediately after going up for sale, that tells you that the price is too low. Same for the other runes that sell instantly.

The mechanism appears to be working correctly for Superior Vigor, but not for the other runes, perhaps because the other runes have price caps, or because the traders are coded to only adjust the price over very long periods of time, not days.

Claiming "no, see the traders use supply and demand, economics, blah blah blah gg" is retarded, because you don't know what the algorithm it is actually using for setting the price. The trader pricing system does NOT work like an auction house.

You have lost the argument. What the OP's intentions are, are irrelevant to the argument, because the argument is about how the trader is implemented. It doesn't matter whether the OP secretly wants to make lots of money buying in selling, or secretly wants to destroy the world - it has no effect on the truth of his factual statements. You seem to be scared of people making money off the trader, and want to have an infinite rune supply for cheap - that is also irrelevant, because you are arguing about things that are not even the subject of the OP's post.

Oh here we go again with the economics wars again. Can't we go play a game and escape that crap?

Can't we just to the trader and not have to worry if we've farmed enough gold just to afford a rune? Having the prices of runes raise drastically won't help anything. Just wait a few days for the supply to replenish.

anet if ya read this can ya please make it so me minnions don't kite i want them to stand there and die if they spend half the battle running away then the point of having them out there is gone

some people r gona say mm bad etc etc but hey i like the build and its harder to be a minnion bobmer when the running away when they die

as far as the rest of the ai goes kudos...

me and my guildies r having more fun then ever doing quests etc there is actually more of a chalenge to the game and we r useing builds that we never have before as a result

love most of the changes
