Thanks for the help everyone, I've started afk farming 5 minutes ago, I just reached rank 3! I can afk for about 8 hours today, so I guess I'll be rank 5 at the end of the day.

After a few tries I finally got two groups, might try three tomorrow if my buddy decides to roll some of the roles for this.. thank to all who posted information on how to do this correctly.

Each N/D or D/N is estimated at about 550 an hour. It is very possible to break 2k with another person farming with you (stated above). I haven't had too much time to mess with this, but for the time I ran it, it worked gloriously. Watch out for RAM overload. Hehe.

The time that I spent running this was probably that 1 in a million that everything works right. I'm going to test this with Vital Blessing to see if the AI get's any less stupid.

just started afk farming an hour ago. recorded 500 LB points in 1 hour of farming spears with 2 groups. used the R/P spear build for Jin that used to be 1 of the premade builds during the NF preview event. other heroes included Dunkoro and Tahlkora while the henchies were Mhenlo, Devona, Gehraz, and Kihm. still need to experiment how to make it faster i guess. but as it happens there are at most only 2 spears in each group so i guess its ok. thanks to all the info on this thread. hope they don't nerf it yet.

I think the main thing about boting has a lot to do with taking game earnings and turning them into real world earnings. It also stand to reason the the afk farming requires a decent amount of human input to get positioned and set up. Then again it takes a good amount of programming setup to get a bot working as well. I think it comes down to the end result (if real world money is exchanged), not so much with LB points. But I'm sure this AFK farming for LB points will be squashed fairly soon.

I've got the feeling afk Lighbringer farming is quite popular and they're not going to ban maybe several thousand people for something that if it's against the rules, would only be on the edge of being so or not. - I'd say you shouldn't worry about getting banned.
I hope I can still get my 50K points before this is nerfed though, but I doubt it, my internet is shut off at night, and either way, I'm getting errors
Anyone know how to make the error=59 (or something like that) go away? It says it's my memory, but I kinda doubt that, because I've played 10 hours on a day before without restarting my computer, without any errors.

I cant see any problem with afk farming.
They made the game and its features and we are just making the most of them.
They could of removed the LB point gain from duplicate monsters like they did the XP gain and also you dont get gold or weapon drops from duplicates, so it's not like they cant stop it easily if they want to

Well they certainly know about it and haven't as of yet taken any action. I don't see how they could possibly punish people for using 'bots' provided by Anet themselves.
I thought it was going to be nerfed as soon as people started doing it, but they only touched xp gain. It would certainly be easy to do so. But then I thought faction farming was going to be nerfed too...

This is a completely innocent and harmless practice compared to the incredibly annoying AFKing at Fort Aspenwood. Which they haven't fixed yet.

Sounds a bit false as an excuse, especially after having raised against AFK farmers the suspect they're going against the EULA and so doing the worst "crime" in the game. Thats another reason I dont think this is against the EULA......if they wanted to, it would have been fixed by now. They knew about it back when they nerfed clones to give no xp. They could either make them give no LB points, and if its the bounty, not the monsters, giving the points, just make the clones not count as a kill.
And yes, I think we will see some chat looking for r8 people for the elite mission. Could be a bad thing, but if its hard enough you could need that r8 to survive, but I dont think anet would make it THAT hard.

im pretty sure anet will not nerf it completely, but they will change the groups or slightly tweak the ai so it is much harder. they wont put a stop to it becaues you dont get any xp or drops; the only good this does is the title, which is not that important..

My concern was that after the dragon festival a number of people got banned for botting etc, one of the things that linked them was 9 rings afk farming. | Now if you think I was wrong to bring it up them that's kinda tough. Personally I think this is the same as 9 rings AFK farming, but taking into account the link above was'nt it better to ask the question now(as someone helpfully did above) than people be onto support for hours trying to get a banned account back. I think the builds and tactics are are ingenious personally, I kinda hope AN feels the same, in the way they thought the progression to sunspear 9 was. Does' it cheapen LB rank, for sure it does. It's not as though titles meant much anyway, but as pointed out the elite mission may be made easier by having a high LB rank. Or if rumors are confirmed and it'll be in the Nightfallen version of the jewel'd palace with Djinn maybe not. LB does'nt work on Djinn after all..

What I can tell you is that after hitting R8 Lightbringer your character still earns lb points. Now, why do you think that is?

Well most likely since there is an R9 after R8 as stated in that article, I assume. If there are skills and you KNOW of them could you at least confirm them instead of eluding to their existance? Tarus, because of a bug. You can see people with more than 1337500 xp on their survivor title. See people with more than 10000 minutes being drunk etc etc..
gabrial, the elite signet isnt that bad. You get 24 energy for it at R8, way better than Mantra of Recall for example. There is NOT more than 4 LB skills out there, do you honestly believe that all the players with R8 LB havent found them yet? Right now i'm exploring with R8 LB, and have done almost all quests. There is no more LB skills. |
