Petition: Insignias available for Tyrian/Canthan armor

this is a great idea i love my canthan armor and i'd like to grab some insignias for it. Plz anet add this for us older players! don't penalize us for buying your first two campaigns.

Huzzah! I can wear stonefist gaunlets from tyria without looking like an idiot with 4/5 of me looking cool, and the other 1/5 with the knight's gloves.

I know the feeling.

I had just finished buying my 15k armor for my pyro ele, and factions was released and the ele armor was far superiour with stats.

So my poor 15k tyrian armor was outdated.

They said they would modify all 15k armor in an update to make it the same as canthan armor.

It took months of waiting, but they did it in the end.

i think they should make new features available to older chapters. not only insignias, but also inscriptions for weapons. prophecies is a nice game and u can get good drops there .. but thats of no use if u cant get those inscriptions off them so u can put em on sumthin else. for example, if i find an chaos axe with 15^50 but high req and i have another axe with low req, id like to be able to take the 15^50 off the high req one and put it on the low req. u can do similar stuff with other weapons ofc too.

i dont know y new features should be available only for the new games. take the storage upgrade as an example: it was only in cantha at first, but since halloween its also in tyria available. i think they should add such new features in the same way to the older chapters.

You can do with the new salvage facility cant you?

Accross all the campaigns you can choose what part to salvage and then attach it to any item.

nah, that new salvage system counts for upgrades, like, fiery, sundering, fortitude. but the mods, like 15^50, have to be on the weapon alrdy, otherwise u got bad luck. but in nightfall u can get those things off the weapons too, so u can apply it to sumthin else. at least i think so .. can anyone confirm this?

I think that is the way it works. You cannot however use the inscriptions on Tyrian/Canthan weapons (at least not to those already holding inherent damage mod). Btw. since UW and FoW are core realms any knowledge if inscribed weapons or insigniaed armor drop there ATM?

If I ever go back to Cantha and Tyria for armor, I don't want to have to buy insignias for them too, especially at the price some insignias are at.

If Anet feels like FoW armor should be included, since its access is not limited to ToA in Tyria, I don't mind, just don't change the other armors.

Elementalists gain a new armor mod in Nightfall. Additional Energy.

This armor mod is not available in the previous versions and is grossly overpowered vs existing Prophecies/Factions armor mods for elementalists.

I think consistancy in game mechanics across the chapters is important. Plus, I would love to have 15k radiant rogue's armor for my mesmer!!

It irks me, but I have to agree with this. I'd like to keep my ele in his super sexy pimp suit (aka hydromancer 15k), but I'm tired of having mods more worthless than... well, nothing is more worthless than armor vs cold, except maybe knights. Being able to put +hp armor on him (far superior to +e) without changing his look would be nice.

I already bought the mods because I assumed that something this logical would be in the game from the start.

Nf armour is awful except for the dervish. imho.Especially the necro.

There are both good and bad points inregarding to bringing insignias to armours from the old chapters. What will happen to existing armour that players have bought? Will this be seen as a PvE Nerf? These issues need to be addressed before we simply go ahead and decide to change it cause we feel it should be so otherwise we may start another flamewar over in the forums regarding this issue with dozens of threads making the same complaint over and over again like whats happening here at the moment with HA and Heros and other issues.

See what i mean.... the inscription for items from the older chapter have also caused some heavy disccussions prior to release and now that we learn that it only affect NF weapons, everyone seem to be pleased with the arrangement. As for insignia for armours in older chapters, it will open another can of worms.

imo, make insignias at all armors into "insignias".. i mean, armor that always used to have extra energy, should have the "always energy" mod changed into an insignia, so u can remove or replace it if u want. this way, prior bought armor could be changed however u want it.

imo, voicing ur opinion and have sum "constructive" discussions about it is good. talking means progress.. if nobody talks about sumthin, nothin would change. ud never know if anyone had a better idea, if u dont talk as long as it doesnt end up in a flamewar (which is just stupid and immature imo), i think discussions r always welcomed .. and the good thing about forums is, if anyone doesnt wanna take part in a discussion, ur not forced to do so

btw i dont see my previous post as an assault to anyone, and im stil not attacking anyone .. if i did or do, im sorry bout it, its not my intention

I made the mistake of getting Battlemages 15k luxon for my ele instead of the one with the healthbonus. i got all survor insignia's for it so i just would like to replace the Battlemage 'insignia' to survivor instead of having to buy a complete new set + black dyes for it XD

I'm pretty sure once chapter 4 comes out they will allow insigs to go on older armor.

Remember insigs is part of the selling point of Nightfall. A.net needs to make a profit afterall.

there's only a few armors I will be upgrading on my characters from Elona, the rest of them I'm happy with. I think this is simply fair.
