Little Known Guild Wars Facts
Rushin Roulette
Greath thread... knew most of those things.. but the ctrl+enter whisper and the stack splitting were new to me.
And about necroing this thread... in propper necro tradition its even a Jagged horror thread now (causes bleeding in the eyes of any naysayer and troll )

RANGERS WITH PETS CAN NOT PULL, your pet goes in screaming Leroy Jenkins, then they switch to the pet to kill it. Best person to pull in game is a tank with a flatbow get the agro step back a little then your party can come in. I say again RANGERS WITH PETS CAN NOT PULL. If u have a pet and need to pull use your agro buble that way you pet doesnt leroy jenkins. |

In Asian culture, houses and pathways are almost always preferred to use north/south orientation and facing south, especially estates of the elites and imperial palace, but in Factions, Kaineng center and Imperial palace is east/west orientation.

I still do not know why some players in town names are light blue and other are dark blue and I have been playing for over two years!

Here's my contributions if they haven't been added already.
- Holding SHIFT while taking a screenshot (printscreen) will remove your UI (user interface) off the screen, leaving a pure, clean, picture of just the graphics.
For example.
- Holding SHIFT and CONTROL and hitting H will remove the UI, but you can still play. Hitting corresponding numbers, etc will still work, however you just have no visuals of your UI.
- Right clicking and going to the properties of your Guild Wars shortcut can bring you a menu like this.
Now look at the 'Target' and compare it to yours. The average GW player will not have a coding to the side. You can use special codes that I can seem to remember, to automatically login, take screenshots in bmp format, like I do, disable sounds, etc.
One I do remember is '-image' which loads up EVERY file in the game in one sitting. Once this is done however, the game doesn't start. Go back to the properties, and remove the coding to play. This helps if you've just reformatted your computer and don't want to go into the Random Arenas only to load and end up missing the match and have hate whispers.

Even after searing, a lot of the towns will have players profession and level revealed above their heads as white texts, but also some towns don't.

Paragons. Some say they exist, I don't believe it.

If you hold down ALT in a town you can see all the nearby NPCs. I swear to Dwayna that alot of people don't know that. When in LA, Kaineng, or Kamadan someone always spams "Where's the [insert NPC name here]?". Its harder to seen an NPC across town now that there's that annoying dimming effect.
Also, loot scaling really does make it possible to make money while playing the game. It makes me feel good that one of ANet's changes has actually worked as intended. Thats why I never give beggers money anymore. I get more golds and grapes in NM than before loot scaling. GJ ANet!

You will always stop an emote to cast a spell, no matter how fast you cast it. Evidence:
Using Glyph of Sacrifice, your next spell will cats instantly, which is literally 0 seconds, not 0.005 like a 16 FC mesmer with a 1/4 second inturupt. Your character still does the casting emote with this 0 second cast.

Wrong and wrong. Glyph Sac = 1/4 sec cast. Only thing that is instant is stances and skills that have no activation time (shouts, etc)
However, a mesmer with 16+ FC will almost do no animation when casting 1/4 sec spells, because they cast in 1/8 a sec or less.

not sure if this still works but, mini-pets count as an ally while using skills like clamour of souls.
Redfeather1975
About that fast cast speed not breaking emote animations.
It has to be more than just the fast casting attribute augmenting cast speed.
There are topics about it on the wiki and forums but I cannot find them.
Even a monk primary can do it, but they rely on the divine favor spells that increase cast speed.
Does anyone remember those topics about it?
Edit:This was found out before EotN came out so the Asuran Skill Mindbender probably makes it even easily to do. It's something people did just for fun at one point.

To whoever gave the morale boost to a thread with 60% dp - at least have the decency to update the original post. I mean, the part about insignia's not working on Tyrian armor, the blue IDS, and so on... If you're going to bump the thread update all the old info.

I made a video of the fast casting emote trick.
It's just for fun. I don't imagine anyone would actually do something like this in a real match.

Forgive the overdramaticness. I'm like over dramatic stuff.

This was very useful to me but I am unable to find any information anywhere about the blue doors in the northlands after you kill all the charr.
Does anyone know anything about these blue doors? Please advise as it is driving me crazy. I know the drops are random but I'm having to buy charr bags and charr salvage kits because I get nothing of value for the 4 bosses at the bowl.

would u consider being able to dye bags one of these lil tidbits considering the fact that unlike dying other stuff, nobody besides u can see the effects of a dyed bag?

Man this thread will never die - its been necroed twice. lol
Little know fact: Other players do exist and can be added to your group, you don't have to play alone. (but they usually suck)

Reccomend you go post asap

I know this post faded away, but I'm happy it was ressed because I think the info here is helpful. Even vets can learn from talking to other vets, and newer players get a lot of good advice in a thread list this.
So keep 'em coming!

Little known fact: Having two W/Mo's does not mean that you can go without Monks.

loved this thread, learned quite a few things.
i'd like to add something not everyone might know.
Flaggin heroes. use heroes and henchies to defeat normal monsters, then flag them away (normaly double the radar?) and then kill the boss. you will get the drop and cut off any chance of the npcs stealing your loot. - now awaiting nerf.

well i really enjoy the flaggin option, even though you still dont always get a drop, i have done 100 runs on the same boss before knowing the flaggin trick and not got a drop. i have done 100 runs while using the flaggin trick and only got two greens. (same boss every time.) so the flagging doesnt increase the chances that much.
it would be a sad day for me if they nerfed the flag trick. then i would'nt beable to get my items anymore.
