Little Known Guild Wars Facts

I corrected the 1% thing a LONG time ago. Ty to those who supported my starting of this thread, but for those trying to correct me, please make sure the mistake still exists. Ty for the healing tidbit, I will add that immediately. I originally started this thread because people need to know stuff, and there were some things I tried to tell people and people didn't belive me. I thought, with a bit of approval from a more massive audience, these facts would become more accepted. Mainly in my mind when I first thought of making a thread like this was the "Superior Absorption Runes do not stack", before it stated non-stacking... many people wasted their money on absorptions, swearing up and down that they were stacking. Hah. Also, the lvl 1 at Ember Light Camp/ Ring of Fire thing people find particularly hard to swallow. When someone posts a mistake, I correct it immediately. So, chances are, if someone has mentioned it once, it is already corrected, or will be next time i log on. Funny how forgetting a period made people think i was crazy, saying it was 1% of the map as opposed to .1%

(That is, get about 4 groups of them aggroed, do a lot of damage to them, while your party is taking a lot of damage, bam: insta-death. Talon survives and reses everyone!)

However, you are singling out one specific enemy, Sab. ANY non-human will not spread disease to humans. I would add this, but I do not think it is really that much of an obscure fact, especially considering disease isn't exactly common.
Ok now for a question: Does anyone dispute anything that they see on the 1st page in the original post? It could be because you do not think it is true or perhaps because you don't see how it is possible or even because it is something you posted and you think it should be somehow linked to you. Whatever it is, I would like to know.
Also, what in the original post did you find particularly helpful? What did you learn that you did not know before?
And, as usual, what do you know that isn't listed that you belive should be listed.

In some cutscenes you can actually walk around by doing the following things :
For going forward or backward: press w and s in the following manner: wswsws (and so on, till you see your character moving a little bit around, after that hold one of those two and run like the wind )
For turning around: do the same as by the forward/backward thing but now with a & d.
for sidestepping: same as before but with q & e
You can't walk with two directional keys at the same time as far as i know
------NOTE: it doesn't work in all cutscenes and i'm using the standart keyboard layout ------
I hope they don't fix it because it's funny to do while someone isn't skipping

Retribution and Holy Wrath do some form of Holy damage, because they trigger Tormentor's inscriptions/Factions-Prophecies armor.

If you hold the A or S keys (movement) while you are using a skill that requires the load bar (heal signet, firestorm), then you will rotate in a circle!

Here is one I found out Just today:
Scouts in NF (or any friendly NPC outside of Outposts) can be Killed threw Disease.

MrTumnus
If you use the number pad (that group of about 17 buttons on the right side of the keyboard) you can target team members without having to click on them in the UI or the party window.
I just found that out today

Consider that there are at over 100 zones in Cantha (source: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Locations_(Factions)). If your radar really displayed 1% of the total world map, each zone would be, on average, no larger than a single radar. I suspect your estimate of the radar's size is off by several orders of magnitude. |
Darn tricky decimals.

Here's a fact:
There's a Kanaxi, Panda and Oni minipet. They were prizes for the Japanese Tournament. They are worth well into the millions because there are only 8 Kanaxi's and very few Panda/Oni in existance.
And on the topic of getting a lvl1 char to Ring of Fire, I think I know how to get past the THK problem. At the beginning of the THK Mission, just die. Sit there with your lifeless corpse while your party completes the mission. Theoretically you shouldn't get EXP while dead, so you can bypass that.

and got it halfway through in one swing! It seemed that the people who didn't belive me had the argument of "The experience you get from those dying enemies should at least get you to (put a number between 2 and 7 here)." And that is what I told them. The other common argument is that getting out of pre either A: Has enough XP to get you to lvl 2 (easily disproved) B: Gives at least 1,000 exp (only provable to those willing to be wrong.)
I myself didn't belive it, swore up and down that he was lying, that he made the screenshot himself, that he got someone or himself on another account to say that the run had been done. Once I met him in-game, I didn't think he was lying anymore. Then later I did the math after someone told me you could just die and not get EXP for stuff someone else kills. It worked out. BTW, I am going to try to put a couple more important threads, namely, BE SCAM AWARE! and Important things in Tyria: What, where, and when to do it.

Great thread!! I didn't see anyone post this, although I am sure a lot of people know, but for those that don't...
when you go outside with henchies in your party, type /dance and the henchies will join in the party by either dancing with you or playing an instrument.

In several other posts to this thread he mentions the correction.
In the interest of returning to the original topic:
If you remove Phantom Pain from yourself with Contemplation of Purity, you'll remove the hex but still suffer from its Deep Wound effect. But if you use Divert Hexes instead, you'll remove both.

If you open your Friends list, you can type a name like Prince Rurik, or Duke Barradin, and theyll show up in Friends list, but when you whisper, theyre (set to? Maybe they dont want to be bothered? ) Offline.
Sab
During PvE missions, you'll often have NPCs talk in team chat. You can double-click their name to whisper them a message, but they'll always appear offline.

Did they answer your question? Cuz I don't see what's so confusing.... you can add certain NPC's to your friend's list, but you cannot whisper them...Oh I just realized, this thread isn't important enough for stick, so I gotta keep bumping it

I think we've hit game over with the trivia.
Cyan The Archer
I actually tried to whisper a Shining Blade Scout and it send a msg...(I know it was a real player who just send that name)
Sasuke The Betrayer
Fact: When your hit by deepwound, you see that your own hp has gone down by 20%. To enemies or allies, they don't see that 20% hp gone until you get hit again (Which allows for a spike b4 a monk realizes that you have lesser hp then you actually do, when you use evis + exe)
Edit: I think the OP should gather all the facts we've gathered in this thread and put it in the first post so that we don't have to scan through everything.

Just Tested this:
When you have a bow without vampiric or zealous mods, and attack an enemy, you can switch to a bow with vampiric or zealous and you'll gain the energy or hp even though you didn't attack with that bow, and actually attacked with a bow with neither of those mods. You have to change your bow before the arrow hits, though, making it hard when you have FW or Read the wind.

To Sasuke the Betrayer: Thank you, I will add this ASAP.
To onerabbit: That is not what I meant at all. I mean, try adding Prince Rurik to your freind's list, or some other NPC. They will be added.
Also To Sasuke the Betrayer: That's what I AM doing. However, some things, like opinions have been excluded. If anyone sees something that has been mentioned and they think should be added to the list, please notify me.

Ok here are 2 facts
1) A long, long time ago, the healing use to be double damage when you use it instead of the -40 armor we see now.
2)Dunno if I should say this one, but: Also a long time ago, the /roll emote existed. It was remove because of all the spam it created with the casino and gambling. It still does existe, but can only be use outside of towns and outpost.

If you click on a Xunlai Agent to open your storage, you can walk to the other side of town and still swap things in and out of your storage window. This is particularly useful in outposts like Vasburg Armory where the XA can't even be detected when you're standing amongst the NPCs in the middle of town. No other NPC windows remain functional when you move far away from them.
Former Ruling
To the Vamp/Zealous bow comment:
It goes further than that.
For any attack made by a bow it always counts the situation when the arrow actually hits - not when it is shot.
For Example: You can shoot an arrow then be Weakened/Blinded and when the arrow hits it will have the effects of blindness or Weakness applied to it.
So it checks the entire situation (what bow mods, conditions on you, hexes/enchantments that effect attacks) when the arrow hits, not when it is shot. The obvious exception is Attack Speed and Flight Time - These cannot be changed mid-air.
