Little Known Guild Wars Facts

To Former Ruling, and everyone: I appreciate your putting that on this page, however, I already stated this in my original post. All you are doing is putting what I said on a different page. Please actually READ my original post.
To Clawdius and everyone:All games take after some other game(s) in one or more ways...the same way Windows Vista is taking after Apple with their scrolling menu thingamagig. And how almost every RPG takes a LOT from D&D...there is, of course, people taking from others, especially with the cost of actually making the games, they don't want a high risk of the game sucking. Seriously, you are basing your question off of a thread that is basically a laughing stock. Why is that sort of question even in a thread like this?

I'm guessing that all the people that said they found this thread useful were just lying? And are you expecting that I post a thread before I get the game? Because a year ago, I still played Runescape. If it was posted a year ago, it wouldn't be facts, it would be the future. If YOU don't find them useful or already knew them, so what? Not everyone knows everything, as seen in people in ascalon or pre going ?dance because they don't read the emote list or bother asking anyone. Besides, it's JUST Guild Wars facts, not Useful Hints. Some of these facts aren't USEFUL, but then again, what is the USE of playing Guild Wars at all? The same reason some of those facts are there: they interest us. Guild Wars isn't my diploma, it isn't my degree, it isn't my job, it's what I do for fun. Thanks for the free bump, even if your post wasn't exactly accurate or well thought out. Nice display of ignorance.

Which is really only 1 peice of what the whole point was about bows...So my post added on the (Frankly More Important) fact that ALL situations pan out at the time of arrow hit - including Conditions/etc on your ranger that effect the hit, most important of which probably is Blindness.
----------------
You might also like to add about Rangers:
At Nightfall release the Primary Attribute "Expertise" was reworked and reworded. It used to effect any Non-spell skill in the game. Many still assume it works like this. [From threads here on the forum, and posts on the Wiki many assume the new workings of Expertise are a "bug" in certain skills because of how expertise used to work]
Expertise now only effects what is SPECIFICALLY mentioned in its wording. Which for reference (not part of the fact) is: All attack skills, All Rituals [both nature and binding], any skill with touch range (more on this in a minute), and ALL ranger skills no matter type.
Meaning it no longer effects most of other profession's skills (only the before mentioned attack skills, rituals, and touch range skills), and now can effect SOME Spells (One's that are Touch Range of course like Mending Touch, Restore Life, and Starburst).
I'm surprised how many people DON'T realize that Expertise is changed now, given the number of edits to the Wiki calling it a bug that Expertise effects Mending Touch (a spell), or doesn't effect plain "skills" from other classes now.

you were never allowed to bring candycanes/ghsot in abox, snowmen to pvp.
it is impossible to be at hells precipice at lvl1. this is because the least amount of xp you can get to post is 230 i think, then assuming you rage quit the pvp arena and go back in to post, you get ran to THK there is 1,000xp for mission. since it only takes 2kxp to get lvl2, youd be lvl2 right after the compleastion of ring of fire mission

Ok, so I missed a little bit of the message. Didn't register the condition/hexes part I suppose, so i changed the original post to make it all-encompassing. Added Stig Figger's little piece of info.

Transmogrifier Potions don't stop. They last so long as you don't change the district or go to an explorable.
Flash Sp
Transmogrifier Tonics last for 30 minutes, unless inturrupted by the mentioned methods.

As a noob, I've learned some neat things in here.
One that I haven't seen mentioned, that a lot of my guildies didn't know, was about runes. Most people ID them then salvage them; however, if you then ID them a second time after salvage, you can get a better price from the rune trader for them.
As for cutscene shenannigans...
In one of the Factions missions, where you see Shiro's ghost, we killed the last afflicted before we killed the last of the enemy minions. The last afflicted dying triggered the cutscene. Also, several people had minis. Someone didn't want to skip. So while the cutscene went on and on and on, we were all frozen in place while a couple of minions attacked some of our party, a mini Shiro and a seige turtle wandered around, and a mini jungle troll kept interrupting the dialogue with RAAAWWWWWRR!!!!. It was probably the silliest thing I've seen in GW yet.

Is it ranger PREPARATIONS, or are you talking about nature rituals? Cuz my Necro as an N/R used RTW, and nothing unusual happened.
Jeff Highwind
Yes it is preparations. You have to stand still while doing the prep though, don't move for about 3 seconds.
Windstriker
Mini-pets area affected by Varesh's Frost Vortex. This can be seen by getting the mini-pet close enough when Varesh activates the skill. The mini-pet will have the skill animation caused by Frost Vortex but shows no signs of it being affected of slowness or damage.
All Ascalon Guards in Old Ascalon will have the dialog of a male even if it is a female who you speak to. Gets very odd when the female guards talk about their children and wife.
During the Sunspears in Kryta quest, recently added are the town npc's being attacked by the Torment creatures while you close the rifts. While most of the NPC's are warriors, some like Jiaju Tai are Mesmers.

In the Deep elite mission, after u clear first 2-3 areas, there is a gate that closes, and if u have 2 necros (one with bip and the other consume corpse), u can have the bip sac himself, and when they monk on the other side of the gate uses rebirth, the other necro can ride the necro to the other side. which is pretty fun to do but requires very very good timing

Figured this was the most appropriate place to put this.
I just used the reconnect feature for the first time today. You know how everyone was saying it was like a Christmas present from Anet?
When I reconnected(had to restart my comp and the program), the symbol next to the paragraph (asking if I wanted to attempt to rejoin my group) was a red christmas present.

I heard getting drunk before a cutscene will result in players falling down repeatedly throughout the cutscene.

Ex 1: You have a superior rune of healing prayers. Price quote at Rune merchant says 3.5k. You use an id kit on it and it says that the gold value is 105. Rune merchant will still give 3.5k. The regular merchant will give 105.
Ex 2: You have a superior rune of fast casting. Price quote at Rune merchant says 100 gold. You use an id kit on it and it says that the gold value is 150. Rune merchant will now give 150 gold. Regular merchant will also give 150 gold.

Xunlai Agent is the only NPC that you can talk to, move away, and still be working with. Unidentified armors are often worth more than the rune itself...If you get an unidentified armor, ID it, check the trader price for buying that armor, compare it to the ID'd armor price, see if it is worth salvaging. |
As for the armors being more than the rune, you can double dip. Salvage the rune out, id that, and sell both the rune and the armor (if it wasn't destroyed) back. This, of course, works better with higher levels in the chest and/or wisdom titles.

I am usually calm, even if it seems like I am pissed off. During most "Arguments", I just try to prove a point. People think they are pissing me off, while in real life, I am laughing. I shouldn't have been so harsh in proving my point, though... those free bumps from complainers and responses are nice

I'm betting this could go another two pages with people who don't notice this is a necromancy piping in here to tell the OP that he's wrong about so many things.

But the IDS was blue, and was "perfect"... At the time it was a blue that had a req 9, max damage with 15^50 and could be modded. What's not perfect about that? Besides the color, you snobs.
And all the thread necromancy is Guru's fault for adding similar threads at the bottom. But you all know that. Learn to deal, or get rid of it.

At least in this case it was a good thread, still contains good information, and the Necromancer did it on purpose. There is no reason that new information could not be added and later people find the thread useful, I would even add that there are *still* a few things in that list that are relatively unknown. I would also add that it is probably better to rebirth this thread instead of simply starting a new one if you were wanting a "little known GW facts" thread. Probably too early to do so, but hey this *is* a community forum and only the mods can really say.
True high level thread necromancy is when someone points out that you can not use both Illusionary Weaponry and Hundred Blades at the same time as they are both elites. In this example the Thread Necromancer doesn't even remotely notice that the original post was from one of the beta's. The thread is reborn with no new information and, actually, confuses people who were not around from way back then - why is this idiot (a name they may even now recognize as a main GWG poster) complaining about it being unbalanced?

Did anyone mention how if you have high enough casting speed you can cast 1/4 second spells without stopping your emote animations.

I just want to mention you could do any emote and "skate" or do none at all and skate in Grotto before they removed it (worst nerf ever) by typing Q+W (or the other equivalent).
Also to spin around all you have to do is hold A and press ESC.
Also Rhedd I casted some 1/2 spells without even doing the casting animation for them. They were that fast. All that happens is the visual animation shows I can't even tell I've done anything usually haha.
