130 HP Boss Farming Dervish
Kijik Oni Hanryuu
I would suggest casting the enchants that have a long recharge time before you cast the enchants that have shorter recharges, in other words, cast Mystic Regen a few seconds before engaging the Roaring Ethers, then when they strip Regen it should be recharged so you can immediately recast it.

Hi all !
I'm trying to adapt this 130 HP build to an only-NF-dervish character. What I use :
Attributes
9 Protection Prayers
10+3(13) Scythe Mastery
7+3(10) Wind Prayers
9+3+1(13) Earth Prayers
5+3(8) Mysticism
Skills
1. Protective Spirit
2. Mystic Regeneration
3. Mystic Vigor
4. Zealous Vow
5. Eremite's Attack
6. Mystic Sweep
7. Victorious Sweep
8. Rending Sweep
I'm using a zealous Scythe with enchantements last 20% longer and a damage +15% while enchanted inscription.
I'm trying to farm the boss of Marga Coast. To stay alive and have a lot of energy are not a problem. But I can't kill these insect monks. I follow your advices to group them with other ennemies but I really don't understand how to make a lot of damage on these monks. When I see some video on Internet, they are dead in 20 seconds maximum, whereas I need about 8-10 minutes to kill them.
What skill should I use to make big damages ? Is there a special timing, or an order for the use of Eremite's Attack and Mystic Sweep ? What should I use instead of Victorious Sweep and Rending Sweep ?
I hope you will give me some advices.
Best regards

The key is to position the monks as such, that you hit them, and at least two other monsters at the same time. I do it by aggroing the mob, and as usual, the monk stays back. Then I run to the far side of the monk, and the rest of the mob should stay right next to him, hopefully giving you the desired result. If not just try to adjust a bit, practice makes perfect. The whole point of this is by attacking three or more at once, you overload the bosses healing, making him eventually run out of energy.
Also, the quickest way to dispatch a foe is to time it so that when the monster is below 50% health, use eremites, or mystic sweep immediately after reapers sweep. Thereby piling as much damage on top of the deep wound. Doesn't always work, depending on if the monk gets a heal in or not.

After about 5 days of running this build...I FINALLY got a green drop! They were Lunto's Pincers, so now i gotta go find somewhere to sell em...whats their worth?
Anyways, the past couple days as i was running this I wasn't doin' so hot until this afternoon. I only had 1 max damage scythe, Hand of the Forgotten, and wasn't sure what other types to use. This presented a problem though, cuz the Forgotten has a +30HP mod so I was running the build with 160HP. Last night though I finished farming FoW with my ranger and spent some cash to buy Dwayna's Grace, which kicks ass so far. In about 45 minutes I soloed the Floodplain maybe 4 times, killing the Nightbringer, the axe boss and the ele one. My 2nd run at Marga's nabbed me this.
Also, I was checking out some of the other bosses posted on the first page, and I attempted some of those...but I either can't even get to the boss, or I die fighting him Not sure why, but oh well maybe in time it will get better.

i use dwayna's grace myself and i have been wondering why it doesn't get more press. its a terrific weapon that looks cool and has perfect mods for this build. oddly, i couldn't even find a price for it in the elona green forum thread.

This is a great build. Props to its creator. I've scored 4 Nightbringers and 5 other greens in the first four days of farming. Good stuff.

Against the Roaring Ethers, a zealous mod makes it a lot easier. Without a zealous mod I had to time it and cast PS and Mystic Regen whenever I had energy.
::edit::
mana ... energy ... eh, they're the same :P

Today I added a new boss to the wiki list: Eshim Mindclouder. Go to the wiki page and check it out. Not sure of the link, should be on the first page. If not search 130 hp dervish on gw.gamewikis.org.
Also, if anyone knows of any good factions farming routes/bosses, it would be great to know. Post it on the wiki perhaps. Anyone know if it would be possible to farm kaolin stuff? I'm not exactly sure whats in the groups there.

Read of the build on the wiki, tried it out, great stuff.
Hate to be redundant, but after reading this entire thread (or at least trying to), I find myself unable to kill Leilon. I beat him to a standstill every time, with no way to out dps his healing.
I did round up mobs after killing the ethers, but sadly enough, with all the energy I could ever want, I can't take him down. To make things worse, all of the djinn die except the diamond ones, which proceed to bond and heal him.
Am I missing something, or are people using fire mods on their scythes to increase damage? Mine is customized and does have a 15% damage inscription, 9-41, but that's it.

You have a sundering mod, B. You have the 20% enchants mod, and C. After killing the ethers, you aggro a few more djinn just to keep your energy up. Remember, only put up enchants when you need to, the only thing you should be spamming are attacks.

Well...these days a lot of old timers secret builds and farm spots are coming out of the closet This old D/Mo build has been around for a few mounths now, safely guarded by population of many...until now
Well, all things nice come to an end...
Now, that this build is out for the comunity, i just wanna say have fun farming the cr*ap out of mobs, I know I had in a past few mounths...
Now a little correction if I may...or call it suggestion...
I red that a lot of people have trouble defeting Sharptail and other mobs that heal themself very effectivly... Well the problem is that there's not enough damage to cover up ur time u need to recast spells... So, the build I was using since the coming out of nightfall is totaly the same, EXEPT i was (and still am ) using WOUNDING STRIKE instead of Reapers... And ive tried the reapes version just to have a feel of it... and still, i'm thinking that wounding is much better... especialy if ure good at soloing things... It lets u deal a lot of dmg from the begining, not till monsters hp reach 50%... and its 3sec recharge so u can strike a few taregets with it, and then just sweep them away with attacks...
Anyhow... it was about time to someone releas this build...
And i hope ull enjoy it reapers or wounding wearsion...it doesent matter...its all fun and game....

You can add him to the list :-)
Obliously you should die at least once before killing him.Try to hit 3 monsters at the time, Chidehkir will most likely be the last one alive, keep hitting him while keeping up PS, MR is less important he doesn't do al that much damage and MV isn't needed. Use the attack skills when your energy allows it. It took me about 10 minutes to kill him.
I fould it to be easier after dropping EB and BS it got me better energy. A zealous scythe might work better.
enjoy :-)

have you guys ever thought about 55 mesmer with mystic regen to kill the elementalist bosses?
backfire would work wonder no?

I know monk bosses can be killed... but the question is, is it worth the time and effort to kill em? In the time it took to kill Chideblah, you could've killed two other bosses already.

You can add Yammirvu, Ether Guardian is a Mesmer boss that can be found in The Hidden City of Ahdashim to the list.
He is not as hard as Leilon, Tranquil Water .

Well
I've been running the 130 build for a few weeks now and I've had a few problems with a couple bosses, just wondering if anyone had any advice.
1. Vahlen The Silent - The problem with him is the mesmers and rangers around him, I can't stay alive long enough to kill him with them interrupting my prot spirit with choking gas and cry of frustration
2. Zelnehlun Fastfoot - It is impossible to kill the Ntouka in the path to get to this boss with the Rampaging Ntouka using Intimidating Aura and Rending Sweep upon your being hexed by the Crested Ntouka
3. Korr, Living Flame - The Stone Shard Crags near him interrupt you as well as weakening you with Ebon Hawk, cant' stay alive nor do enough damage
Those are the main bosses that I have had trouble with, since starting to run this build. Otherwise I find the build very useful for mob farming, since I have yet to get a green.
I look forward to getting a response.
Thanks
Oh yes, I forgot to mention the monk that casts Scourge Healing on you near Vahlen

Oh yes, I forgot to mention the monk that casts Scourge Healing on you near Vahlen For Zelnehlun, I just die twice then just charge in to Zelnehlun, ignoring the Ntoukas. THey should give up chasing you once you are approaching Zelnehlun's cove.

This takes a bit of getting use to, but for those of us that enjoy playing by ourselves for a challenge, especially because of limited time, this build is awesome. Just wanted to say thanks!

2. Just run past them and make sure you keep up enchants. Put up MV as a buffer between PS and MR.
3. Check the wiki. Says to get health really low (16 even) and sub fleeting stability for MV

im pretty disappointed with this build myself, i expected more survivability out of a build that most of the community seems to love. maybe there is something im missing?

general farming for this built... how much you guys make for about 2-3 hours a day... is 10-20k range average not bad.

If you're farming for gold, there are better builds out there, dunno if there are any for derv.
IMO, that range is good enough. Then again I'm not really particular about the gold. memnock deathwalker

I make around 20-40k in 3 hours not counting any green and gold drops. But it also depends on which area I am farming in that day. phreek
Guys, I'm having real trouble with this build. Every boss / mob I try with this build kills me in about 2 hits. I understand the build, I cast all the enchantments before fighting and throughout. I just don't understand whats going wrong.
What armour/items do you guys use? EDIT: Forgot to mention I only managed Chor with this build. Cheers David Derek
You have to keep Mystic Reqen and Protective spirit on at ALL TIMES!

Sorry, I don't mean to sound like I'm annoyed here but what part of "I understand the build" and "I cast all the enchantments before fighting and throughout" didn't you understand?
Derek
Well maybe at some point u forgot to cast Prot. spirit, and then the mobs kill u FAST!.. It might occur that you don't see fast enough that the enchantment has ended.

Nah, I cast em' all the time and I make sure as soon as it ends I cast again, I hold off attacks to make sure they have enough energy to cast. I don't know whats wrong, I seriously tried for about 2 and a half maybe 3 hours last night with this build. I just don't know whats wrong. I know it does work, I did chor with it and all you guys seem to love it. I can't seem to get anywhere with it. Maybe it's just not for me.
