What profession was your first character?
Darcy
While there have been threads on this, I didn't find any with a poll.
Please post after voting and let us know why you created that profession.
______________
To answer the question that keeps arising, I mean the first character ever - even if you deleted them the same day.
______________
And a reminder if you don't post a message after you vote, this poll does not get bumped.

ELE!!
ELE!!
Saraphim
Well... technically it was a warrior, but I didn't know about pre/post searing and got whumped into post searing at level 3. I felt I'd missed out on something so re-rolled and created an ele..

Ninna
I'm PVE
started off as Ranger because I like Rangers in single player RPGs
- having a pet was a nice perk too
I had no clue on what skills Rangers got when I created her

Elementalist FOR LIFE!
Total Rogue
Elementalist, created back before the AoE nerf and they were still useful for dealing damage.
Bel
Warrior. Started as W/N.
None of my alts have hit level 20 even though they're one year old.

during the October WPE 2004 event, I first made a necromancer coz I loved the mohawk.
Shakkara
Mo/R in Beta, but that doesn't count I guess.
W/Mo after release.

I knew from before I got it I would have to be an MM

Warrior Of The Toon
Ele - they sold the idea really well to me, and now it's the only profession that i've used but not got 20 in.
warren_kn
Mo/R by virtue of the fact that I thought a tattooed monk would look cool. If I'd had any idea what any of the characters did then I probably would've picked something different.
Sli Ander
Mo/r. My first and one of only 2 char's I play. I suppose technically a warrior was first, but I deleted him after 5 minutes of wandering around pre.
broodijzer
Ranger. Just liked them the most I think.
got into post searing at lvl 4, managed to get her to borlis pass (I think.. first northern shiv. mission) at lvl 13.
Made a warrior later, only played him. Gave my ranger one more chance, entered the mission, *miss* *miss* *miss*. got angry and deleted her.

my first character was a R/Mo for the hard res and the pet and traps and things like that. i freaked out when i first used ignite arrows on him in pre.
Elemental Cotton
Elementalist for me. =)
I was reading a magazine on Guild Wars, and read that Elementalist/Mesmer were supposed to be the biggest damage dealer, so I, knowing nothing about how tactics and stragety worked in GW, went with that.

Mesmer for me.
Still my main pve char, and easily the best profession in the game IMO

Dark Dragon
Elementalist always
um just saw the results is everyone on this forum from proh?? or does everyone who gets later games still only like core classes?

Lyphen
My first was a Monk during the BWEs.
Kais Unduli
First for me was a ranger, whom I barely play with anymore. I didn't bother playing my ranger in Factions unitl the 2 weeks before Nightfall came out, and I just rushed him through the game. Oh well.

Seems like i'm the only one here who's first char was an assasin :P
Made him since i ,like pretty much everyone who first got factions with no previous experience, picked an assasin because.. well. you know, ninjas and stuff >_>.
Deleted him after getting my warrior (w/e axe warrior) to the main land, then i deleted that warr, hah!

My char all through the BWEs was a E/Mo healer.
floppinghog
Started with elementalist, but she is ugly, shortest possible (i don't like it anymore). She doesn't do what i made it for anymore, due to AoE nerf. o well
So shes now just an extra storage tab.

Thorondor Port
I made an Ele....and i didnt understand the game at all and my skillbar was like so retarded with attributes all over the wrong places.
He was soon deleted cuz i wanted a warrior(1/6 char slots...and i deleted him...why? who knows)
I wish I had kept him though.. =[

I created a ranger purely on Anets description of it. I was playing Call of Duty and talking about GW to some clan mates.
I asked if it (GW) is any good, and they said it was. So i checked out the website and decided on R/Mo before i even bought the game.
My idea was to deal damage at range and heal teammates if needed.
Still got my ranger to this day, and i wouldn't delete him for the world. Though i don't heal people with him, lol. Bring your own heals!

I think you guys just started rangers for the dance... come on, admit it... lol, my very first character was a necro, but I deleted him after I got to droks.
EatMoreCarbs
Ranger, like everyone else.
Two April Mornings
Mesmer. Haven't changed either.
KamikazeChicken
N/W in Betas; R/Me at release.
Turbo Wombat
First character was a Wammo, which was quickly deleted and replaced by an ele. The ele made it out of pre-sear but was then promptly deleted. The first character I made that I actually kept was a mesmer, which is still my most-played character of 7. I guess it's just the trickster in me that likes f'ing everyone else up.
Bowstring Badass
Warrior.
The fact that you can spike with only 2 warrior rules.

Ranger/Mesmer here
Carth`
It was a ranger. When I created the character I had no idea about the game, how it worked, or what it would be like. I often go with a ranger style of character in RPGs so I chose ranger. It was a good first choice since it has better armour than casters and stayed out of danger.
Now that I do know a bit about the game, I still love the ranger. Very versatile and fun class to play.

Female Ele :>
I ended up deleting her after 5 months since playing as a monk or warrior was much better.

The King of Fighters? May Shiranui! Kyo Kusanagi! Iori Yagami!
D&D-based games? Fire-based sorcerer!
Diablo 1? Fire Sorcerer! Diablo 2? Fire Sorceress!
Well... I think you get it.

Necromancers FTW.

Although I love playing all the classes, my Ranger Rhianneth was my first and is still my favourite. I have sixteen characters now, (and no I don't need to get a life, I follow the Terry Pratchett rule on life there " I don't need to get a life, I'm leading 3 already") including a second Ranger, and I still love to play Ranger number 1. My second favourite? Well that seems to be a tie between my number 1 monk Kya and my number 1 ele Calliaria. Then again Polgara and Pantha my 2 necros are quite adorable and then again ... oh I give up, I'll say it again, I love playing all my characters.
Bankai
I like ranged guys, and trapping sounded cool.
He was my most valuable character. Sadly, I accidently deleted him a long time ago (making lots of pvp chars and deleting them ftl)
