Nightfall has a ton more hours of game play + story line + quests.

Eye of the north is a much better place to play but is very short in hours...

Hi
I have been playing GW a while and have all expansions icluding eye of the north, i might get the bonus mission pack but no rush.
Even though iv been playing almost 4 years now i still and probabbly never will understand the shortnamed terms you are using above, they could mean anything to a newomer, agree?

My experiences & recomendations...
1- Prophacies - very slow game but the skills given off quest giversmakes up fo it as you have to spnd less points buying skils and have moe to uber upgrade, also as it is the original & Eye of the North is the expansion, only then you realise how mASSIVE and emersive the game is Eyeof the North story lines fill the gapsin your brain where you get the thaughts, i wonder what will happen to.......everything ties in and introduces 2 new controlable heroes at the start Vekk an Elementalist & Stonehamer a priest healer.

2- Factions - If i could only buy 1 i think this would be my last choise unless you like leveling to 20 fast and dont mind the lak of game story content, but i have to admit, the assassin is one of the best if not the best DPS ingame in arena combined with a mesma - unstopable lol.
Also the REitualist is an amazing build act as a protetor a healer Ritualist/Monk builds are very common because they are brill and then Ritualist/Necro - Ritualist/Ranger give the pet/minons extra power due to their trait.

3 - Nightfall - The Paragon has to be one of my favourates, it used to be Ranger but now Paragon, just as effective with extra armor and chants to aid yourself as well as team mates, Paragon/Rangerhas the lot, steel armor, spears/bows a pet, chants, traps, brilliant defence - gotta love em.
The Dervish, like a Monk but figt up close with a syth and has high DPS just like assassin exept you heal yourself as you strike with you syth moves, maybe even higher than warrior, a popular build is Derish/Monk for high DPS and protection spells and the Dervish/Paragon for DPS and chants.
I think if i could only afford to get one, it would be nightfall, most up to date features, most players, fast leveling driven through quest story lines, really emersive.

these ar my oppinion and mie only, if you dissgree take itwith a pinch of salt and bit me . lol...jk.

I find Nightfall to be the most new player friendly campaign. Also in my opinion, it has the best skills, and it has the best features. Nightfall can get you to know exactly how the game works, it can get you really thinking about technical things such as building builds, and it has the best story line.

I would say wait till the deals come out. If you wait a while you might find a good deal in the nc soft store or at your retailer. Like eotn/ campaign combos etc. Or bundle packs with all three games .

I started with Factions and it didn't disappoint me at all, I quite enjoyed it.

After Factions, I didn't know which one to buy, so I asked my friends. They all said to buy EOTN, since it has dungeons and some other stuff.

Now I'll buy proph or NF. (Or maybe both at the same time)

I dont regret the way I went through this game.

I bought The Game of the Year Edition of Prophecies but now they are selling a 3 pack of all the campaigns for around the same price i bought prof for. Nightfall is the funnest imo because of the Dervish and Paragon. Also because it has Heros.

Nightfall because its easy to get the hang of, plus you get Paragon and Dervish which are imo the best professions. And you get heros

Just picked up the complete collection for £15 from amazon UK, thats all 4 games for under $23, the offer was just too good to pass up.

I do have the original Prophecies campaign from several years back, didn't get really far, my attention wandered else where after completing pre searing. Thought i lost my old account, it was only after i created a new account then realised characters had a 2nd name. lol then took me half a day figuring what my old character name was to hack back into my old account...

question about the trilogy deal: I have nightfall already, if I buy the trilogy can I just add prophecies and factions to my existing nightfall account or am i going to have to make a new account?

Don't know for sure but I believe each game will have it's own code.

The Trilogy has one access key. If you add it to an existing account through the Add A Key on your log-in screen, it will add any campaign or features you do not already have, but will not overwrite any existing characters.

You should describe some of the quest in each of the games like how long are the quest or are they easy medium hard.

You can read descriptions of missions and quests on the wiki http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page which is also available in the game via F10 or Help on the menu.

I have a question. I have an original account (prophecies only) from four years ago that I played for a while and then stopped playing. I just picked up the complete collection. I read on wiki.guildwars.com that if I apply the complete collection to my existing account, it would only add 2 character slots.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild...ete_Collection

Can anyone confirm this? Also, what pros/cons are there to starting a new account vs keeping the old? I don't really think my old characters are a huge deal, but having a mule account could be handy, and choosing one account with 8 and one with 4 slots vs just one account with 6 slots doesn't seem like a tough choice.

Edit: The complete pack comes with a single code that either adds all the expansions to an existing account and gives +2 character slots, or creates a new account with all expansions and 8 character slots and 4 bank slots. At least I was able to punch the code in and get a rundown of what was going to happen before hitting "confirm" but I would have preferred to simply have 8 slots (or at least 6, one for each expansion) added to my account plus the bank slots.

I found the complete pack at Wal-Mart for $40.

P.S. Darcy pointed out that buying the 3 campaigns separately would also end up with 8 character slots, so there would be no benefit to buying separately if you currently own zero guild wars accounts. However, if you can find separate keys for the expansions you don't have for less $$ than the complete pack (or just want to keep your initial account), you may want to see what prices you can find the individual campaigns for, since each adds two character slots.

@Generalanders - When you add the Trilogy (or Complete Collection) access key (it only has one key) to your account, it does not disturb your existing characters. It just adds anything you didn't have before.

I would go with prophecies if you are new because everything is taught to you in a quickness in which you will be able to learn because it is not so fast like Factions. If Factions would have been my first game for GW I would have been so lost. Prophecies, even though it was the first to come out, is definitely the first you should play as a beginner.

Personally I think at this point the best bet would be to buy the three pack that is sold and then do Nightfall first. Factions is horrible and Prophecies is too drawn out. Nightfall is made much easier by the addition of Heroes and you can always go back and do Prophecies and Factions later with your heroes along.

I might as well ask this here:

Friend of mine is looking for a cheap Complete Collection, and seems they got just that in most UK site. (~14£)

Has anyone here ordered from UK sites before and knows which ones ships for cheap (or free) to Canada ?

Thanks.

I don't think it will be easy to find free postage from the UK to NA, and I'm not sure what constitutes "reasonable costs" for flying stuff over the atlantic.

I checked out amazon.co.uk's postage for Canada (I ordered my own Guild Wars Complete Collection from there at £14.99). It's makes a weird distinction between CD/DVD/Book/Video for it's postage costs, and I'm really not sure where computer games fall in there. It might be anything between £3 and £7.

In total, that's between 27.5 and 34 Canadian Dollars for the game and postage.

£15 is a common price mark for the complete collection this side of the pond. Still no price cuts on your side, I guess?

For you Canadians who are still undecided where to purchase the game for cheap, my friend ordered the GW: Complete Collection from here:

http://www.mymemory.co.uk/PC-Games/G...C%29-%28DVD%29

Total price (with shipping) was £16.40, which was $26,50.
Applied it to his NA Prophecies account just fine.

It took 2 weeks though, but for the price it's not that bad.

Zatria, you either start a character in another campaign or get your Prophecies to Lion's Arch, be level 10 and take the appropriate quest. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Campaign_Travel

So... Question...

I want to play GW1 (I played it for a very limited time when it was first released and I enjoyed it, but I stopped playing MMOs shortly after, so my time logged is minimal) before GW2 comes out.

I want the Trilogy... But I also want Eye of the North. From all I've read, I'd have to purcahse the Trilogy AND Eye of the North. Is this true?

Yes, but your better off buying GW Complete Collection. You get all 4 ''games''

The Complete Collection looks like its $89.99.

I can get Eye of the North for $10.00 and Trilogy for $29.99 (or less in some places). Does Complete Collection have something that I'm missing?

$90?! It definitely shouldn't cost that much. All it is is the Trilogy and EotN; nothing else. Just go with whatever is cheapest. All 4 games for $40 (or less) sounds good to me.

I have a few questions!

1. If i buy that guild wars trilogy i get three Keys to play online?
2. I need all of them to my account?
3. Each for play each version?
4. Or i need only one and the other i can use on another account?
(brother and i have trial accounts on prophecies)

1) The trilogy comes as one key that contains all three campaigns.
2-3) Not sure what you're asking, but you will need to add the key to your account. Doing so will allow you to access the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
4) If you want to upgrade two accounts, you'll need two keys.

The trilogy comes with one code that gives you access to all three games, so you cannot add Nightfall to one account, and Factions and Prophecies to another. If you want to add a single game to an account, you will need to buy them individually.

Greetings everyone, I'm interested in purchasing Guild Wars so I can enjoy it.

My question to you all is, what exactly should I buy, so I don't miss any bonuses? I'm interested in buying a GW edition that will allow me access to absolutely everything, every manual, art, bonus weapons, pets, EVERYTHING, throughout the history of Guild Wars. Is there a possibility for this? I'm quite interested in making sure I experience GW 1 to its absolute fullest and want to make sure I don't miss a single bonus, reward or whatnot. Are there items that are now unavailable? Price is not a problem.
