maybe they found a way to simulate a mmo server using their technologies that they tweaked or whatever. and look at the subtitle, Utopia, meaning imaginary and Guild Wars:Utopia will give us a completely new experience. see, guildwars' 3 chapters was all about there was somethin evil threatening a race and the heroes will come along and save the day. so maybe chapter 4 will let us use our characters and zone to a map somewhere wherein there's a large scale interaction. i know im wrong but hey it can happen.
this is a rumor mongering thread anyway.

fishing doesnt really sound like something they should put on the back of the box lol. like the heroes....i can see it now.......never fish alone......never be hungry.....fish!

"Life skills" crap really has no place in an action RPG like GW. Fortunately I'm pretty confidant that Anet knows that. People that want to turn this game into WoW should really go play WoW and leave the rest of us with the superior game, thanks.

Now that we got that through, I remember on the release of NF there was an artical stating to look out for clues about the next chapter. Anyone found any clues? I think its going to be at the Mursaat home land or Deldrimor. And I hope the theme this time is either Norse or Aztec/Mayan. |

If this is true, I'm kind of bummed out that Ch4 won't have a snowy/wintery feel to it (presumably).
I admittedly know very little about Greek environments...but wouldn't it be somewhat similar to the top-right part of the NF map, like iwth the gardens and such?

I think they are finally going to show us what happened to Gwen.
If they really said we should look for clues about the next chapter, thats it.
For those who went to Barbadous Shore cant possibly forget about that Preserved Red Iris Flower, reminding us about that old pre-searing quest wich you have to get one in order to Gwen follow you.
Here is the link to these itens.

Hmm I doubt I'll buy unless it has some great PvP. They have to improve their PvP development a bit more.
Haha I jest (sort of), I never really know whether or not I'll buy a GW chapter but I think the name Utopia is kind of blourgh. Although a few days ago I did guess Chapter 4 could have a setting of Downtown New York; we can only hope that is the case.

Not that this is true but its from Guild Wiki and that's a very good Guild Wars source, but here:
Galie Gray has hinted at the fact that campaign four may take place on a frigid continent.
North of Kryta and Shiverpeaks lays Deldrimor, land of the dwarves; the only FRIGID continent.
It hasn't been confirmed, but it is very likley we will see that the Guild Wars: Chapter 4 is on Deldrimor. Also if you go on GuildWiki and type in nations, Deldrimor is the only other nation that we haven't been to that is listed. I think Chapter 4 is on Deldrimor. =D No more Orr theories for me. Orr is dead. Maybe.

Fishing, Cooking...stuff like that.
I like GW very much. Just hit KoBD the other night on my Warrior. But, i'll be the first to admit, if they don't do something within the next few chapters that will change how GW is played PvE-wise AT LEAST...they'll lose many customers.

Hm. This is starting to sound more and more like an Ultima Online clone. Fishing? PK areas? Not So Fun Events? I saw Ultima's decline into obscurity. and I hope the 4th Chapter isn't the decline of GW.

As for the setting, i think they should leave the current proffessions etc as is. What i mean by that is, every chapter they have to add core proff skills + faction/NF skillz and new proffession skills. Its time they gave our characters a rest and start anew. Maybe do a new GW set in a different timeline, maybe when Orr still wasn't destroyed, maybe the time of guild wars... or even a hundred years into the future from now. If they want to do it at current timeline, maybe (yah, too many maybe's) set it far North, away from current continent so they we not affected by Nightfall as tyria and cantha were. If the majority of the community still want to be able to play with old characters, let's build a time machine and get "timeported" to teh Guild Wars era :P I do agree with some of the above comments though. They really need to do something different this time or some of the older players will just lose interest in the long run. 2007 seems like a tough year for MMO's with vanguard, warhammer online, aion, 2moons (which is completely free), so ANet has to give us something extra to make us stay while keeping people away from those games.
I have a tendency to keep on typing once i start. Pretty sure most of you will go TL;DR

I think they should add life skills.. it's one of the few things that would keep me interested in the game. And don't say I should play WoW if I wanted to do that. I like Guild Wars.. I like the lore, I like the look... adding life skills would only imporve in that it would keep people who get bored easily more entertained between the chapters. Guild Wars Chapter 4 would have to add something to that effect or I think it will lose a lot of players who would claim "More of the same."
Right now I'm waiting to hear information about chapter 4, deciding on going to WoW with the new expansion, beta testing Vanguard, and playing around with City of Heroes... as it stands right now I could go in any direction.. just trying things out.
Plus there is already food in guild wars from the different chiefs so us being able to craft (cook) is possible. Plus it would make use of a lot of the worthless crap we get from enemies like the roots and so forth as most only have one collector.

they already added something LIKE life skills, which are titles. the wisdom title that has better chance to salvage thing as example...
im looking forward maby to stop saving the world and build one? have same missions/quests RPG concept, but a story going towards BUILDING a home land (C'mon, isnbt about time after saving 3 destroyed lands?)
may i suggest Uthopia = building of New-Ascalon? >_<

adj.
1. Extremely cold
2. Lacking warmth of feeling
3. Stiff and formal in manner: a frigid refusal to a request
4. Persistently averse to sexual intercourse
Well going by dictionary meanings
1. Quite possible, however an entire continent being cold and snowy is bland. Had anough of all that in prophecies and wintersweek(s)
2. Mursaat structures, their movements, their...being seems pretty spot on with this description.
3. Once again, the only creatures (from my experience) that fit this description are the mursaat.
4. Lets not go there
But thats just more speculation

Bzzt wrong, We have been to deldrimor. Most of the shiverpeaks come under deldrimor. Shiverpeaks are the name of the mountains, Deldrimor the name of the country. And yes we have been to Deldrimor, Its right after ascalon and ascension And if you really think im wrong, The capital of deldrimor is Thunder head keep... Gosh i dont know where that is....
And For chapter four the Utopia can still mean alot of things but which i seriously doubt are the mursaat due to the lich's comments. Finnaly about Orr, Though i doubt that its a possibility there could be a chance that we have a new enemy messing up the timelines and the heroes are called to fix up the mess. What i really want though would be a chance to go to either the charr's homeland and kill charr And go further on and meet the giants.
Or all hell... ill settle for binky's spelling adventures

I hope they add new weapons and skills for all classes, and maybe an auction house. A good example for the new weapons that I'm thinking of is maybe a polearm for Warrior, crossbow for Ranger, a fiber-wire for Assassins, and maybe reinforced blades on the bottom of a Dervish's robe that could cause cripple, but with certain attack skills you could hit higher. For casters, give us a chance to be battle casters and give us flails!

I think the next chapter will lead to Orr but not start there. All the Orrians aren't dead but they're scattered all over. The Orrians were obviously important to the Gods. Why else would they dwell in the city of Arah while they shaped Tyria? The end of Orr was pretty darned sudden. Just like Shiro Tagachi's betrayal of Emperor Angsiyan. Could Vizier Khilbron have been manipulated by one of Abbadon's creatures, like Shiro?

Not to mention they would have to somehow explain why and how Orr and it's people wern't utterly destroyed in direct contradiction to the first chapter lore.

I'd put money on it that Utopia has nothing to do with the first three expansions.

Umm @ Josh though im not sure what your implying i think your trying to say that the 2nd and 3rd chapter did not connect with chapter one which is completely wrong. The first 3 chapters ARE connected, The storylines eventually tied into it all happening due to Abaddon. Abaddon used Shiro and the lich to do his bidding.

What if your all going in the wrong direction? What if it goes back in time.
If you look at this page on GWiki about Bahltek( http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Bahltek ) He says something about a ghost ship and about how you shoulod swim out to it going and investigate it. What if this is a ghost ship of Orr. What if this is something to do with that weird black mark on peoples maps, near Istan after finishing Nightfall.
Maybe these ships appear all opver the world and are 'potals' to when Orr was at its high point and blessed by the Gods. Surely a place like that would be a Utopia. Maybe you have to stop it being destroyed?
As they are blessed by the gods maybe we will get new attribute point lines rather than new proffesions?
Just my take on everthing.

As far as campaigns, I'm betting Utopia is going to have nothing to do with Abaddon...something new is going to be bothering the world...of guild wars.
I'm thinking this game is going sotra like Star Wars you know? First 3 set down the standard and ideas, and the last 3 really got into more lore and were better.
Then again...Star Wars was backwards...so maybe Guild Wars is backwards in lore to...maybe Anet started with 4, 5, 6 and the next 3 are going to be 1, 2, 3 in the lore and storyline....who know?
Either way...I just wish Anet would come out of the closet and tell everyone when this game is coming back, no point waiting. Might as well tell us and get us interested. Then again, I'm not Anet.
