How many of us have been here from the very beginings?
MegaMouse
As the title suggests I am interested in how many of us have been playing since the retail (or earlier) launch of Guild Wars almost 2 years ago. I am not interested in your characters ages just who has been here with me and others that I know from the begining. Thanks guys.

For a little one of us has commented on my lack of knowledge on the play mechanics. I realy only had 2 characters that I played up until Factions came out. My elementalist and a monk (still can't get the healing right). I do not PVP or GVG just the main PVE thats is. So there may be a lot that I do not know. Thanks for all of your responces though and I hope Guild Wars will be here fopr a long time.

I think i got it a couple of weeks after retail. I still love Guild Wars, but there's still a lack of interesting stuff to do.
Took a long break and played "something else" then came back.
I was hoping there would be some crafting/mining or whatever thrown in by now, and the expansions only provided the same old Guild Wars in a different setting.
There's so much potential if only Anet could see it.
Ask the same question again in a couple of months and i don't think i'll be here to answer TBH
Sorry to sound so pessimistic,lol.

I have also been here since WPE however I wasn't smart enough to start posting at GwG until rather late. God I love this game.
talonrid
I've been playing it since the WPE.
Missed the first two BWE, then caught all the rest. I lost interest completely about 2 months ago. Came back a few days ago, and I'm hooked once more.

I played multiple beta weekends.
What is the real point of this thread, may I ask? I'm sorry if your only real purpose was to gather this trivial head count, but I may have grown slightly cynical when it comes to these types of threads.

Damn, I can't see how you have stuck around so long, I've been playing 18 months and I've had a few breaks in that time.
I'm trying to renew my interest but it just isn't like the good old days. Back then people could ask a question in general chat without being called a noob/loser..

No real point just interested in how many old timers are around thats all. Plus this lets the newer players see that there are still some of us that stuck with the game through thick and thin.

Ahh... GW was the first game i ever paid more than a dollar for (blame software piracy). Pre-ordered it as soon as it was available. It was great fun back then.

Since the E3 for Everyone event in 2004. Still logging on for at least a couple hours, at least every other day. Took about 2 months off somewhere in there due to work and personal obligations, not because I wanted to or got bored.
Will be buying Chapter 4 at release.

Since Beta weekend in February....lots of changes since then. Didn't like Factions as much as the other two chapters, but I'm still in for the long haul.

I first heard of Guild wars in September 2004. Back then, the main forum was The Guild Hall. This was before classes like elementalist and mesmer had been announced. Hell, it was even before female characters were announced! The warrior attribute "Strength" was called "toughness." I joined guru soon after it was founded.
In the 8 or so months before release, guilds were forming through the forums. There were only 40 or so...but there were like 2 prominent ones, The Dragon Warrior guild and The Bloody Vampires (or something like it). I'm not even sure if these guilds survived to see the release day.
So yeah, Ive been "playing" since the E3 4 Everyone event in 2004..but following the game before then. Hehe, I remember during the first betas when having a few hundred gold was very very good. And FDS' were the rarest weapon in the game, only dropping in Riverside Province...I got one and sold it for a handsome 500g.
To be honest, I really don't know how I remember all of this, but those were fun times...
I posted a lot in what are now the "archived" forums at the guild hall.

I've been playing Guild Wars since the WPE, and my grades have steadily fallen due to it's creamy center of virtual crack. If Anet shut off the servers tomorrow, i'd have so much free time... I may even actually do my homework xD
sixdartbart
Been here since the BWEs , took a few months off after huge disappointment with Factions and some burnout from running a GvG guild but grabbed Nightfall and it kind of felt fun like the original, until I figured out they had made it an online solo rpg now
Ozric
Me! I was there for the WPE and the weekend events until it was finally launched.
Talic
I've been here for the long haul too, I joined in around the october 2004 beta weekend, played every one of them after that.
Matthias Umbra
I played in the WPE for Prophecies and then bought the game as soon as it came out (didn't preorder though, think I Best Buy-ed it). Haven't posted here much though, except for price checks on items every now and then.
Caleb
I played in the public prerelease event, and preordered Prophecies based on that.
If only I had gotten the CE.... but who knew I would still be enjoying the game after this long?!

I started playing the first week in May 2005 and found you all here about a month later :-)
greyf0x_f0x
Bought the game a week or two after its retail release. I've had one major break from it for a few months, when I felt Prophecies got stale, and before factions was released. It was shortly after Factions, that I discovered the joy of a decent alliance, and group PvP. I've been at it ever since, and doubt I'll be taking any more extend breaks for some time ^^

Since beta .. my cod clan starting me in this>.<
