How many of us have been here from the very beginings?

I bought it probally about a month after it first came out, then I bought Factions and play that for about a week and then I stopped playing all together. Though I am considering playing again, Im wondering if I should power game through Factions (anyone figure about how long that'd take?) and then I will most likely buy NightFall, although it seems lots has changed, I remember logging on a month or two after I quit to give my friend some starting money and a green weapon, but when I gave it to him he said it didnt have a picture on it? So I hope my items arent lost. anyone no what Im talking about lol

Been playing since release. Wish I'd heard about the WPE or I'd have done those too. The problem with this game is it's impossible to find a class that I want to play more than the others (they're all so fun), which means I've played all the classes (save for derv & assassin) for about 100 hours each, though the monk and ele both get special attention.
NoChance
been playing since I believe second day of release of Prophecies...
took a long break in the middle of Factions.. picked it up again a month or so before Nightfall came out.
I LOVE Nightfall! I used to only play with a Necro, so I had limited knowledge of other professions (and only as secondary) ... but now with heroes, the game has expanded greatly for me, as now I need to know about skills from all professions.

I missed the first Beta weekend, but had preorder and attended the second beta weekend, been playing ever since, own all three campains, and completed all three, I PvE most of the time, but enjoy PvP. I was slow to catch on to some of the game mechanics, but so far each day I play, I always seem to discover something new with this game, and that to me is what makes it special.
thedork01
I've been playing since the world preview event.

Pre Order here! Started very seriously, and have gradually got less serious, and now I have pretty much lost interest. :'(

Been playing since the first Beta. Also been a loyal player since GW's official retail release up to this very day.
Only took a few breaks, one of which was when my computer was in the shop. The others were during vacations...wife mentioned something about quality time
Finished all three campaigns with my main characters, but have to admit to some boredom having to repeat the storylines for my other characters, but that's what I get for having to have a character for each and every primary profession.
Overall, I still love the game and play every day.
Cheers!

This reminds me of the last MMO i played, all the vetrans thought the first version was better. they also said that "back in the day" no one called eachother a noob and everyone helped everyone.
i have never been with a MMO from the begginning but i have been playing GuildWars for over a year. i really have too say i like every part of every game. PVP and PVE, but i was dissapointed by NightFalls PVE gameplay.
sorry i just felt like i wanted too say this.

I've been playing since the very first public beta test (perhaps considered an Alpha version back then), I think it was in 2004 during E3
The game looked very good back then, and despite many changes it still does now.

I been playing since June of 2005 i think. I didn't get into the beta, in fact when the game first come out. I avoid getting it since I don't want to spent alot of hours on MMORPG. Ever since I got it, I have been playing for 19 months with over 1000 hours on my account.

Been playing since August 2005, I have 8 toons and have pushed 7 of them
thru NF already, understand why the OP only wanted ppl from beta
responding, and this is an example of one the biggest problems in GW,
ATTITUDE, all the problems posted here and why ppl have done the things
the way they want to is there "attitude" or to put it another way, there
expectations.
Want to get pugs active again, dangle the carrot in front of the pug
donkey, like if you complete a mission with all real ppl, you get a
couple extra skill points or something, but there is no reason to pug,
except for the social aspect.
One reason I have henched 90% of NF is I like to go slow, look around,
try some different things, seems like alot of pugs just get thrown together
and then push thru the missions as fast as possible, no thank you.......
Sorry for being log-winded, I think I might go help some "new ppl" get
thru a couple missions now......

Got the pre-order in Oct, 2004, I think, and played the beta events. Bought two copies of Prophecies the day it was released; one for me, and one for necro daughter's birthday the following day. We've been in it ever since, and added a few more family members along the way.
Morgoth the dark
been in game since 1 beta event (i think it was E3 introduction, dont remember that anymore )

well............
my husband and his brother picked it up in May of 2005. I, however; was working overseas and my laptop wasnt capable of handling graphics like guildwars and other computer games (found that out when I got home in August and loaded it and well, lag was one of the first things I knew about guildwars, boy was I impressed when I got a graphics card )
So I didnt get into this until August of 2005----I was out of the country and working so I didnt have any free time anyways....after the job was over I had to move back to the usa (can you say ems? and dhl?)......
have been on just about everyday since (ok I have taken a few breaks to visit my mom in florida and she doesnt even own a computer...... she is 80!)...

Yep I've played since the Betas. Still have my original ranger character too. I did take a few months off when real life called and I may be taking a break again now that the newborn is here. I think I'll stick with Guild Wars until the end though.

Bought the game the day it came out. Ironically enough, my ISP died that same day and I couldn't play for a week.
Kool Pajamas
I started playing about 2 or 3 weeks after retail release. Wish I would have started sooner.

Been in love with GW since the "E3 For Everyone" preview event. Haven't stopped since then, even though it has followed a different path than the one I was expecting in those events and in early GW. Can't say I hate the path they chose though, it's still more appealing than any generic-grind treadmill MMO around. In fact, I like GW the way it is though.

I played some of 2 of the many WPE's before release, not sure at what stages the game was at, but the login area was beginning Gates of Kryta mission area.
When I first played, it was so overwhelming with what attributes to try and all that, of course I was noob, but besides that I knew already I could get into this game then.
I actually started to play 1 week after release (couldn't find time to get to best buy for it). You know, when I think back, I think there were collector's editions for GW there, but I told myself, Why would I wanna pay extra for some headset and stuff I probably won't use... (meh I wish I had the grasp of what divine aura was really then... O well!)
So yea if you skip all my typing, I was here from beginning
