Slightly annoyed at new attribute panel
Viruzzz
if its not broke, mess with it so it slightly annoys the majority of the playerbase

I'm getting annoyed when you put your cursor over a template, and the entire template window pops up, and then you can't read the title of your template...
Just a bit annoying. Guess i'll have to get used to it...

Its like trying to get use to someone standing in front of you holding there hand in front of your eyes saying 'Not touching you can't do anything'. It's just not gonna happen.

BAD: Reversed order of attribute point arrows. Leave down on the left and up on the right. Indifferent to attribute values being placed on the left of the attribute names (instead of the right).
BAD: Template tooltips covering up the list of template names. It's nice to have the tooltips, but would it have killed the UI designer(s) to put it *much* farther to the right so I can see my list?
GOOD: Being able to see details about a template (professions, skills, etc) without having to load it. However, the default template window size only allows you to view it and about 2-3 template names in the list. Sure, I can resize, but default UI settings should be sane.

I went into ha with 0 attributes thanks to the crazy back-to-front thing..... WTB change back to original attribute panel

I would have to agree that the reversal of the attribute arrows seems totally wrong. As was mentioned earlier in the thread we read left to right so it is natural for them to be they way they were. I like that they are larger (which is better for my eyes) and the tips are somewhat nice, but the placement is just...awful.
I really like the new sorting options for the skills which means less scrolling! Yay!

Im finally some other people agree with me on this one. I mean really, why change the attribute and templates? They were perfect as they were, now they're just screwed and everyone hates em.
Eldin
I'd give up <something valuable> for:
-Putting the arrows back in their original places (I want them on the right side again too, but it's not a big deal if that's not fixed).
-Making up be on the right and down on the left again.
-A little form button listing your remaining attribute points.

Where the heck is Gaile on this one? She was all over the mini pet sound issue, but conspicuously absent here. This issue actually affects game play, although in an indirect manner. Needs to be fixed, ASAP.

Maybe Gaile just sucks at her job........ or maybe she's scared of the UI designer
Eldin
Yeah. If anyone has a run-in with Gaile or The Frog (probably Gaile would have a more direct response to this matter), tell them that we are not amused with this little UI change.
Bryant Again
Good point out on the mini-pet thing...This does indeed affect us a whole lot more than grunts and flapping wings.
I too have just gone in a battle with 0 in an attribute (caught it when my sword hit for a 1). I'm not having much of a problem with selecting presets, but it's still kind of annoying. I just do not see why they flipped the attributes around.
And of course I'm still confused why they thought this needed a change.

Hate this new attribute system as well.

meh, I don't use it much, so I barely ever see it, just noticed it yesterday. Pop up are kinda annoying, fixing that would be nice, other than that it not bad, just takes some getting used to.
Eldin
Another thing I hate (this time about templates), is when saving or loading one, you know how the window shows the skillbar preview and attributes of the highlighted template? Well, I'm one of those people who likes to doubleclick to load them, but the first click highlights the template, displaying the skillbar + attributes and shifting the list, causing the second click to end up selecting a different template. Without thinking, I save or load it. This has caused me to lose a few templates.
~nymph~
yes, please change the attribute panel back to the way it was. its so confusing every time i want to change my attributes . the pop ups are quite annoying too.
FoxBat
So... I just want to be certain on this. A few people have posted in the thread that people shouldn't complain, adapt to it, it's not that bad... but is there anyone that actually prefers the attribute arrows swapped as they are now? You'd think when they make a change like that, it would be for *someones* sake...

I'm getting the very strong feeling that Anet does not want to address this issue, and it probably will not be changed unless the community bands together and forces a change. With enough pressure, we can do it.
BoredJoe
A really good change (templates) now gone very annoying. Guess templates weren't getting enough attention so it needed a nerf to bring it into the limelight.
I'm reminded of a review of The Burning Crusade where they said the best thing about it was they didn't fix what wasn't broken....

Let's make Guild Wars history! Dist. and time, please?

The inversion of attribute panel is very bad. Well, we read from left to right, no? Now it's very disturbing.
The big popup when we select a Build is not a big deal as we can adjust the size of the window. But the little popups when we move the cursor on the builds are annoyings.

Wait, how is the panel worst?
MMSDome
yup as some have said A-Net had the right intentions but i do find the explanations of what every thing does gets annoying

Also, how do we now tell how many total attribute points we have without having to strip each attribute down to zero?
CDittric77
I just don't understand why this is such a problem. It really isn't a big deal.
Lyonette
it's an issue cos there was nothing wrong with the way it was before.
the tooltip and stuff are neat and being able to see ur complete build with skill descrips is also neat. but the actually way they changed the attribute modifer part is sucky.

No, it's not a huge deal, in the grand scheme of things. But the little things add up, and why should we just sit in silence with a sucky attr. panel, when, if we put up a fuss like the mini pet people, we can get it changed?
arcanemacabre
The attribute points on the left side is definately the worst part. The more I use it, the more I hate it. No, I'm not getting used to it, quite the opposite.
It's true that it's not a huge deal, but Anet looks to the forums for community input to see what needs changing for the better. What better way to let them know of our discomfort than to complain about it? Not to mention it was completely fine before, why was it changed to this?
Anet's new motto: "If it's not broken, break it"

I kinna like the whole detail and the pull down window for the templates. Hovering over the name of each template was a bit..weird at first, but then i was like "I seem to have a better visual memory!" and so i see the skills in the order and I know that's it automatically.
if anything, i seriously love the new skill panel with the different options of how to list the skills. It's seriously helpful for my assassin skills to just group them all as offhands and dual attacks and such. It's been something I've been wanting for a while ^^ same with energy and recharge and yadda yadda.
Though the attributes...I still don't know o.o I guess I never had an issue with it...though the old way was just fine so I wouldn't complain if they changed it back either *shrug*

Apparently Anet is more concerned with mini pets than addressing this issue.
CDittric77
I disagree. It could be very well that not enough people find this to be a problem, and therefore ANet doesn't need to 'fix' something it doesn't perceive as 'broken.' I understand that some people find it counter intuitive because they have done it one way for a while, or that they didn't feel it was 'broken' before (with the implied statement being, if it ain't broke, don't fix it), but really I'm with Laenavesee; it just doesn't matter because it's not nearly as major a change as the other skill bar adjustments. Well, it's all neither here nor there, I suppose - different strokes for different folks
Maybe an option to have either or would be the way to go?

I agree that the attributes are now foul and completely counter-intuitive. How in the world could the devs have thought that mass of random numbers ---> what each number means was better than attribute --> each number, considering we read left to right? :/

I dont like it either.....its just on the wrong side....very hard to read and very hard to use.....
please put it back!

Has there been any word on this from Gaile or anyone from ANet? I find it very strange that the minipet sound was fixed almost overnight and yet we can't even get a statement on this annoying new interface "feature".
Necromankas
i think a.net want mini-pets to takeover the world of guild wars instead of fixing the backwords writing, see they dont want us to notice it.
