Now, what I am wondering is if the drop rate has changed at all since then? Will running in NM still give me R8 drops. I am going to start running nm chests around Cantha and I am going to document the amount of keys used compared to R8 drops, if after 1000 keys, I have no R8's, I will probably stop and call it dud, compared to my previous drop rate anyway.

dropping a lot of celestial items (got sword, hammer, staff, scepter, axe), but also a lot of canthan staff like paper fans, bo staff, canthan shields etc...
still its a pretty slow run imo

Well, after about 50 chests, I have had 3 r8's. All none max. 2 purple, one gold. This one being the best:

Wow, that's pretty close to max. Too bad staffs don't drop maxed q8's anymore.

Asking here to more experieced people in chestrunning....
I ended up buying one, but where is possible to look for a Oni Blade?
I guess near points of oni spawns (forest in ferndale, jade sea somewhere, maybe deep?) but didn't find any in general used chetrunning routes....
P.S: also, could be possible to write down a list/table of what mob-related chests drops?
Like:
-Afflicted chest -> Plag items;
-Warden chests in echo forest -> GotH;
and so on.
Cold be useful to keep track of all the possible drops, but i have too little experience to go further those 2

Do the short run in Borea's Seabed (pretty sure it was posted here before)... the run where all the luxon assassin spawn because of the "Halkyon Job" quest...
U start with more kurzick faction than luxon and die as fast as possible.
You'll get rezzed on the other side of the map.
just on the right side below that rezz shrine is an oni spawn place... got a bunch of oni blades there while i actually wanted to run the assassins route.
Here's a map of that run again:

I always used that run for the dragon staff chests, didn't noticed nearby oni...looks quite easily accessible for a farm, i'll try it out.
About writing down a table...isn't that i need it, but after years of chestrunning and 40+ pages of thread i've found weird that nobody listed all drops/mob-realted chests yet(expecially for the over-farmed cantha), that's all.
Could be very useful for anyone willing to chestrun/farm something particular.

Oni weapons drop from chests in Raisu Palace explorable nm or hm.
When I run it I use this route & usually get 4 chests a run, can get 5 though.
And btw. The only req8 max gold that still drop are shields/focus'. Don't even bother trying to find req8 max gold weapons (sword, bow etc) because they don't drop anywhere. And the chances of finding a req8 gold shield/focus is low, let alone finding one with godly stats. So yes, theoretically you can still get req8 gold max paper fan/bladed shield from 550g canthan chests. gl hf opening like 50k chests finding one though.

Btw, just a fast question popped in my mind: WoC part 1 eliminate all Afflicted spawns in explorable areas (they're still aivable in missions). If mobs around it determine which kind of weapons a chest drops, this means that on chars that completed WoC in HM is impossible to do a chestrunning route for Plag items?
(Just in case i'd ever want to look for those i'll not waste time on my sin).

But the reason I think it'll be changed back is because the Am Fah in the Undercity have WoC builds...

Atm the spawn table on wiki isn't complete... but after some research Afficted were replace by Jade/Am Fah in areas of Kaineng (Byway and Passage have been tested only so far on wiki) and Scavengers on Noob-island. Would be interesting if Woc completion in HM opens to moar chestrunning routes for Bo's (in place of Plag, but w/e).

Hi I am currently nearly rank 4 treasure hunter and I haven't done it for a very long time, I was wondering what areas are still good to run on warrior or assassin and may make some decent cash? Or perhaps have a chance at good skinned sellable items e.t.c.

Well u cant go wrong with pongmei valley, but with ur r3 trasure hunt, i think u have rly low retain % in HM? but i started running there at r4 and im r6 now. Great place. There is few routes how to run it in this thread, few pages back. Sometimes u make big loss in money, but overall from r4 to r6 iv made lots of profit in there. all depends on luck tho.

I've been doing some runs of pongmei hm this morning and last night and for those of you who like numbers:
29 runs, used 92 lockpicks, opened 130 chests, got 60 gold weapons, 32 purple weapons, 7 tomes, 4 elite tomes, 19 gold armors and 8 purple armors.
Nothing special in any of it, mostly merch fodder, nothing I think i'll get anything more than 10k for.
It was HM, rank 4 treasure, rank 1 lucky.
I would have thought I'd have seen some nicer stuff, got mostly jade/amber skins, core skins, I think I got one plagueborn axe (single mod req 13), one gothic axe (purple) and one archaic axe. No shields.

you can't realy complain about drops, 130chests is like Méh nothing. There are guys who ran 10k chest and still have jack shit to show for it. I myself ran 2.3k chest now (only run when i'm bored, R3 Lucky, R5 unlucky) and the thing i found that was most valuable is a 20/10 Dragon staff (was like 100k), also found a Single mod demon shield in mid of the hype (sold for 70k)
I also only run Gyala hatch, Pongmei and some withman's folly now and then
- Also i'm in a MQSC guild so we do a lot of Mount Qinkai vq's and drops there are okay, many wands and armors, like two +50hp each month. and MQSC has a Outcast chest that spawns 50% of the time, nice shields and staffs. And the Yeti Chest gave me 2 paper fans already (crap mods)

Yeah there is no explanation besides maybe some bad luck. I got R5 treasure coz I just started doing it, R5 wisdom and got nothing yet. The most valuable thing I got from a chest ever is still a sup viogor which is kinda sad.
But then again after doing lots and lots of Sahrds of orr and froggy dungeon HM I never seen a froggy or a bds drop :/

What is the validity of running FoW chests now? I have not done it in quite some time, is it still worth it? Similarly what about thoughts on raisu palace, I remember that being a very hot spot quite a while ago.

I don't know anyone who runs FoW chests anymore, don't know why people should run fow chest except for chaos axes maybe?

in Gyala Hatchery spawns a Outcast chest 33,33% of the time (dunno real % but in my exp it does) When start from levitan pits first chest.
on Mount Qinkai, when you run to the beach there is a Outcast chest like half of the times, but pretty hard much dps on the beach.
Boreas Seabed will probably also have an Outcast chest but no clue where they are at.

Question: I started running the vermin chest lately, but does paper fan, lantern etc drop from those chest? i think i saw system fan post that he got paper fan from xaquang but was it from vermin or jade brotherhood chest?

Core drops can be looted from any chest in cantha. Core-drops include rare skins like Paper Fan, Jug & Jitte.
So if you chest-run >NM< kaineng city it's still possible to get a gold req8 paper fan/jug/spiked targe/bladed shield etc but extremely rare.

Fun proph run is for magmas in hells precipice. Don't let the frequency of them dropping lull into thinking you'll get a decent one quickly. They drop fairly often for me (say 1:25 chests or so) but I have yet to see a dual-mod one!!!! other than magmas you'll get lots of random core stuff and armors.

yeah doing Hells precipice is fun from time to time also Witman's Folly outside of droks, it's just an easy run 2-3chests very fast. Drops aint good sadly..
I also did some chests while VQ'ing in the ascalon area's, and you find some pretty oldskool weaps ^^ (Fds, crude shields, tall shields love that kind of stuff ) But don't know if chest running in these area's is fast/worth it.. Don't even know where chests spawn there

with no afflicted spawn from unwaking waters a run takes 2 mins(less probably) for 1-2 chests, the route is posted some pages back.

What are the best areas and chests to run for plagueborn items,celestial items and kurzick items? I checked around for a list of areas to chest run and couldn't find anything like that anywhere.
