OK, I just tried to flag heros/henchies away, no matter what you only get 1/8 of the drops.
This has pretty much taken the fun out of game, maybe it is too early to tell, but I enjoy soloing, and now I am being punished for it.

Basically it looks like they levelled the playing feild and some die hard farmers will not be happy.. Me personally, I couldn't give a rats ... LOL

i just flagged hench on a few runs.. looks like I got a normal amount of drops, whereas when I didnt bring them I got like 1 drop out of 20 mobs.

How far did you flag them? I left them at the zone, maybe that is why I didn't get same amount of drops.

can someone check if the chest/buried treasure Flag got reseted?
atm i have 27% to use a retain a lock pick..... hummm back to some CR and when you open the chest in Hard mode it does count towards it anyways.

Essentially, *If I understand it..* More people now have a chance of getting decent loot. This will not boost the bots, oh at first they may increase, but when no one buys the stuff from them on ebay etc, they will die off fast.
Hopefully this update shafts the bots and the ebayers royally.

no it scales DOWN it would seem, if you try farming solo. And sk8tboarder I flagged them at the start too... I didnt do alot of runs though so maybe its sporadic =/

It does not boost anything, it was just changed so you still get the same amount of loot as if you were in a full party, so soloing hurts you, and being in a party is unaffected.
@//RogueNine - Maybe them dieing has something to do with it, I did a tusked howler run, I only got 1 drop per group.

If your a party of 1 or in a party of 8... you get the SAME drop rate for your character.
I honestly think the pt size when you load sets the rate no matter if you take your hero's away from you.

Kinda strange that they would do this now... They have said many times in the past that they didnt want to get rid of farming. Kinda pointless to farm now.

Well Just tried my usual farm places and lets see what happened. I got 2 drops.
Farming is the only reason why I play this game now. I love making money . I don't like playing with other people and now that I can solo farm its just ...whats the point now?

I'm thinking that ANET is implying that we MUST team to get anywhere. This update will make the poor sink lower until they start eBaying gold. And then eBay will run out of gold and... never mind, I'm rambling again.

This is rediculous. I put a lot of time and effort into creating my own personal farming builds. Its the ENTIRE fun of the game for me. I could deal with the occasional skill nerf or what have you, but this is just horrible. No matter how much effort i put into the game, I get less than a sixth of what I used to get.
What's the point of this? If ArenaNet wants to add new exciting things for mission players and title-hunters, that's great, but there's no need to ruin what already exists for those of us who play like I do, making specialized builds for effecting cash farming.

Now without soloing how am I going to get greens for all my heroes. I've onyl got like 1/3rd of them equipped because I am lazy. I guess I waited too long. The rest of the updates are real nice, though. They just have to spoil one of the best updates ever with that.

the party scaling nerf idea posted by several people here was to UPSCALE and reward players in parties, not ruin the fun of soloers.
I understand though....Hardmode produces higher level loot and it needs to be not "farmable".
Maybe Hardmode should be not-farmable. and Normal mode is.....normal?

Oh well. Might as well just over look this and enjoy hard mode for what it's worth. The increased rewards should make up for it, I suppose.

Awesome update beside the loot scaling. No more solo for green item if you cant get all the loot. If that is the case prepare to buy green at 80k+

Tried flagging my henchies away... I don't think my rate was quite 1/8 but it certainly was at least half of usual... and they take part of the gold too. This really sucks. Solo farming was one of my favourite things to do with a character once I completed all the goals I had for them in a campaign. Sure some people find it boring, but for me, and others, it was fun. It was particularly good to farm materials for armor, or collector's items or greens to equip heroes. Now equipping heroes will be even more annoying.
So much for my aim to get fow armor... I can only imagine what's going to happen to the price of ectos now.

farming isnt dead, just solo farming. although this is going to lead to inflation (i barely passed eco, think thats right). ecto price (as well as other things usually solo'd) will increase, while income from player to player will stay around the same. increase in prices while income stays the same; thats inflation, right?
not going to freak out just yet. will wait for the other shoe to drop before passing judgment. economy is going to be fun to watch. maybe the influx of gems will curtail the rise in ecto prices. if not, good thing ive been stockpiling ectos...

There complaining because once you've reached your goals and you DO NOT LIKE pvping Farming was all they had, now they can't do it.
Im not a farmer, im a poor Hobo so Im not affected much.
Although if you like economy so much go play Goonzu ONline its Based off buying and selling stuff and farming, its really a farmers game.

No matter what, dead or flagged off, they will take a share of your loot. To clarify: In an 8 man zone you will only ever get 1/8th of the loot, regardless of any other factor.
