i assume you're going to die before reaching him though. ![]() icymanipulator
Winter + Spinal Shivers...no More FoC which is his most devastating single skill and he will spam the hell out of it.

ANY enchants= baaaaad ![]() When I kill him in normal mode, we usually have a tank, then the nukers do the rest. ![]() TiNkLeR

Basically, if people can run that in HA and GvG, and rip teams apart (who have smart healers, smart players etc), then in PvE, it'd be even easier, as things don't react like humans do. So a lot of the gimmicky HA/GvG builds would probably tear apart Rotscale with a few changes. Skyy High
You know what I find funny? People acting like they're elite PvE players when they don't even know how prot spirit and spirit bond work.
Also, I wasn't aware that a war's extra armor would be helpful against degen, shadow damage, and life steal, but hey, what do I know. teenchi
Try
3 rangers with broadhead arrow and have them time it so he's constantly dazed. 1 nuker 4 monks, 1 heal, 1 prot and 2 smiters Caleb

There are a lot of people that have difficulty with Rotscale in hard mode, and it would be nice to have a thread where ideas/builds that work are being discussed in a positive light. Try to keep on track, please? Lucifer PVP Guild group did it with two heros, just have patience and ya bunching up isn't the best idea fenix
For the record, <3 Caleb
![]() Regarding Rotscale: Basicallly, you don't want to over-think it. You just want a couple skills to shut him down, a couple skills to protect yourself, and then damage. You also have to work in a skills to fight the way there. Just look at the wiki, and make a list of stuff that you have to counter, and see what skills you'll need to do it. Lord Natural
o.O what's all the fuss in this thread about? It's one caster, with no evades, and no monk support.
1. Kill his guards without agroing him. 2. Cast spellbreaker on a BHA ranger or headbutt+plague touch warrior. 3. Have them run in and daze him. 4. Kill Rotscale upier

can you say WW spam?
and something insanely sweet are Larceny/Thievery. we ran this on the all-mesmer trips and boy was the boy in some pain! Sir Skullcrasher
Just wondering, could you possibly bring in a mesmer and interrupt half his skills thus making it easier to attack him?
Cowboy Nastyman
here is how my guildies and i did it:
W/E Ob FLesh Tank W/N with Grenths Balance A/N with Grenth Balance (me) hero bonder with all the prot bonds a monk with some prot spells and SOJ a ranger with symbiosis and broadheadarrow with apply and an SV necro hero basically war tanks the damage with other out of range of rotscale and his buddies with soj on him all of his minions will die ina few cycles. once he is alone the war and assassin buff health as high as possible with enchants cupcakes and symbiosis and sac life to cast grenths balance, hitting for around 1k damage per balance. while this happens the ranger hits him with broadhead and poison from range witha flatbow. rotscale has easily 100k life or more from what we saw as 1k damage was barely a sliver of his health so even with this method takign himdown took quite a while a pic of our successful kill http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/4980/gw013bs0.jpg savage vapor 33

1 Bonded Tank 4 SF 2 monks - Bonder/Healer 1 Necro - BIP/QZ Just throwing it out there. Bryant Again

Doesn't echo Diversion work against him? He's not technically a boss right?

Just to let everyone here that has not tryed to kill Rotscale in hard mode. He is not alone! So some of these suggestions are useless...

Full group of MM's and bomb him. All those novas should easy kill him i reckon.

Where to get minions?
Zeek Aran
WE DID IT! WOOOHOOO
Headbutt + Plague Touch I had almost no energy the whole time, so I barely plague touched back Deafening Roar. We forced him into a corner and I had him aggroed, heroes weren't flagged once I had whole aggro. Still took about 10 minutes of hacking and setting on fire and punching holes with arrows and interrupting and interrupting and interrupting. Thanks Drop of Fear mainly, Mouse at Large for the SV suggestion XD, and everyone else. Finally, thanks Xeno The Fallen for being my guildy and having heroes. Bryant Again
Congrats. Who got the bow, or did you rezone/repeat til everyone got one?
Zeek Aran
We were vanquishing. No one got the bow. o.O We didn't really want it either.
It was the Plague Touch suggestion that saved our asses, because one ranger can't Broadhead Rot very well. floppinghog
and yet another player finally finds out that making a topic about how hard something is, isn't the answer. but yet, trying new skills, openning the mind, and actually PLAYING the game is the key to success....
who would have thought... another happy ending... now please no more stupid topics.. Bryant Again

who would have thought... another happy ending... now please no more stupid topics.. Maybe she got the Plague Touch idea from Drop of Fear...? And hey, they asked for help, we answered. What's wrong with that? I am suprised it went to four pages, though... Redfeather1975

I guess it is time to try kill Rotscale in Hardmode, we took weeks to get it right in normal mode. The reward is just doing it I suppose.
