If you had to choose between PvE or PvP for GW2

Gaile brought up an interesting question in a thread on another forum. I thought a poll might be interesting.

So, if you were forced to choose, which would you rather have, PvE or PvP in GW2?

If you had to choose, what would you want GW2 to have?

1) PvE only
2) PvE + Unranked PvP (Random Arena, Fort Aspenwood, Alliance Battles, Team Arena)
3) PvE + Ranked PvP (Heroes’ Ascent, Guild Battles [GvG], Hero Battles [HvH])
4) PvP only (both Casual and Hardcore)
5) I don’t care
6) I would not buy GW2

This is an old-fashioned poll, which means you will have to type the number of your choice in your response. I'll tally the numbers and provide weekly updates about the voting.

Note: PvE + Casual PvP + Hardcore PvP is not an option since this is what we currently have... and the poll is about what you would do if you were forced to choose. I realize most of us would prefer the game the way it is but that's not the point of the poll

Edit: I should have explained this. I don't consider HvH to be hardcore pvp based on skill involved. Rather, my considerations for hardcore vs. casual have to do with (1) Existence of tournaments (2) Potential effect on skill balancing and (3) Resources devoted to said form of PvP by Anet. I'm forcing some of the pvp modes into categories you may not agree with (i.e., many may believe that TA takes more skill than HA), however, I believe that is unavoidable in a poll of this nature.

Edit 2: I followed Bazompora's suggestion and changed "hardcore pvp" to "ranked pvp" and "casual pvp" to "unranked pvp." The types of pvp listed under each of those names remain the same. Ya, I know, noobs like myself shouldn't post polls.

Option 3. But no matter what, I want PvE.

I enjoy both aspects, however I choose PvP, options 3 or 4 I suppose, it'd be nice to see some good skill / game balances in GW2 though.

PvE is enjoyable, but I MUST have PvP.

uh... hero battles is hardcore pvp? ROFL

Whats the point of any discussion or poll, everyone knows gw2 is just gonna be a cheap imitation of WoW with pretty much only PvE and barely any PvP which no one will ever do. 90% of players of GW now are probably PvE-only or close to it so Anet only care about pleasing the majority, and dont listen to the PvP'ers minority and leave them in the dust.

I think I speak for all PvP'ers when I vote for 6.

I'd choose 3, but only if PvE and PvP don't cause conflict. Make the skills behave differently for the two types of gaming. If not possible I choose 2.

PS: if a mod could edit the thread as to add a poll to it it would be great.

I'll go with two, but if it came right down to strictly PvE and strictly PvP, with no option for casual, then it would definately be option one. I don't mess around with PvP all that much, mostly because I suck at it, so I would much rather have PvE.

I fixed this for you, and yes I vote this option.

PvE and PvP can both be quite fun depending on what you're doing and who you're doing it with. Although personally I prefer PvP play over PvE play, I would want others to enjoy the game also as well as something to do in the game when its 4 am and my entire guild is asleep and I'm an insomniac....
