I don't pay anything, my parents do lol.
But they said they prefer PayPal because it has more security.

Yes, i would use Paypal if it was an option.

would have bought most of the game that way if it would have been an option before, and would buy char slots now if i could.

I like Paypal, its secure and buying is pretty speedy for the most part. But, some people might find it a hassle with setting up an account etc. But its very secure imo.

I prefer using a credit card and would only use PayPal if I wasn't completely sure about the vendor or site.

I have a credit card but prefer to pay through PayPal.

But, basically, PayPal option should be added simply because it can open doors for other type of buyers. As of this writing, over 50% wants to have a PayPal option in some forms, and adding the option means a more considerable income for ANET. You can't just ignore the +50% buyers.

I do have a credit card and a Paypal account, but I would still use my credit card as my payment method over Paypal.

This is because I use my Visa Checkcard, so essentially it'd be the same payment source regardless.

I would not use PayPal.

I make most of my purchases (for anything) online, and I am not a fan of PayPal. I've used PayPal countless times in the past and I have been a victim of fraud when using them. They state that all transactions are insured up to $200 but this is an outright lie. If you fall victim to any sort of fraud when dealing with PayPal - no matter how small the transaction - they are a pain to work with and you may never see your lost money again.

I have used my credit card online many times, and I have also used Google Checkout many times. I've never had any problems with either of those methods. I've closed my PayPal account and I do not by any means plan on opening a new one.

My two cents.

Since paypal is used almost everywhere, why not in the GW Shop?

I voted no. I don't enter and important information suach as c.c. numbers on my p.c. ever. I would like to see everything that is sold in the Guild Wars online store, sold in retail stores. I would buy a lot of upgrades including character slots if they were sold in retail stores.

I purchased all my GW except the first one (GW Prophecy) from plaync using my credit card.

I never used paypal in any of my online purchases because when I tried to register in the past, it said that there is no paypal in our country (Philippines) [or something like that].

I never had a hardtime using credit card in plaync so i guess i'll settle for that. Looking forward to buying GW2 in plaync also.

I would not use PayPal. Explain?

I prefer to buy stuff at an actual game store so I get the physical product. Hence I haven't been able to buy PvP skill unlocks or extra character slots.

No. I would not use paypal.

I would not use paypall because I haven't had any problems using a credit card online (yet) and the cost factor behind it damages any bit of interest I might have

Paypal is fine for people buying stuff, but it offers zero security to the merchants that use it to accept payments. It might be convenient for you to buy something with it, but I would never accept payments through it, and wouldn't expect any company to do so either. If you are wondering why, just type paypal and chargeback into google.

I do not own a credit card, as I am probably one of a few people who play who do not have a lot in the way of funds, or the means to actually get a credit card. I use my debit card for most online payments, but GW does not support my debit card, so PayPal would be the only real viable option.

I use PayPal to pay monthly for my website for similar reasons and have always found the service to be safe and reliable, and they do not charge me anything extra to transfer the funds from my debit card to the company I'm paying.

I have often wished GW used PayPal. Not being able to use the online store limits my ability to play the game how I wish, and in the long run...causes ANET to lose out on a few extra bucks

I got a credit card. Call me n00b but i've never used paypal =P, since I've never purchased from anywhere other than trusted sites. So unless theres a transaction i absolutely need Paypal for i prolly won't be using it.

Only when a Credit Card option is NOT supported / available (or trusted), then only will I use PayPal.

I use paypal wherever it is offered. I hate using my credit card details online and try to avoid it if possible. Paypal means that I can track all my purchases immediately without having to wait for statements, and they offer a really accurate exchange rate system. I have it linked to both my bank account and my credit card which means I have lots of options. Suffice it to say that I am in the "I have a credit card but would rather use paypal" camp.

P.S. While we're talking about billing options, when are you going to stop charging Australians in pounds?

I have a Paypal account and UK Credit card. I live and work in Belgium, unfortunately I cant use my credit card in the ingame store unless I use it in the country of issue, so paypal would be a viable option.

Paypal ftw!

I have a Paypal account, I've used my credit card through the online store before, either way is fine with me. Though I think Paypal would be more convenient for some people. The more payment options people have to choose from, ensures Arenanet will get their money.

I do have a credit card, I used to have a paypal account. I can't stand and don't trust paypal (bad experience). Ultimately though, you have just one question to ask yourself: "Are there enough potential customers out there with no other way to purchase that it outweighs the risks/costs?"

Your credit card company should/could have a program that generates 1 time use credit card numbers that link to your account without actually having to give away the information. It's very convenient, and there's no use for third party programs like PayPal.

My checking account is linked to my PayPal, but my debit card works in the online store. Still, I can see why people would rather use PayPal.

Please, allow it

Yeah but only because you bought 5 products does not negate the fact that thousand of people got some major trouble using paypal. Not to mention that paypal is a lot more expensive that paying with a credit card, while a credit card offers more security AND liability.

Perhaps, but i didnt have any extra costs to a product i purchased, i have a verified paypal account on a spare bank account meant for paypal alone, and i only deposit funds when i need something, and when the product sale supports paypal.

I know that you can register your credit card to paypal and to be honest i dont like that idea myself, mainly because it isnt really needed with most online retailers, because most of them automaticly support credit cards.

Still paypal aint to bad, it has also something to do with computer security, which most people dont know jack about, any keyloggers can ruin your day pretty badly, and there are quite a few horror stories on credit cards aswell.

I am not denying that paypal is the ultimate payment option, it isnt, but it is a good alternative to credit cards in a country that dont hand them out so quickly, if i wanted a credit card here in holland i would need a very firm income and thats not gonna happen anytime soon.

Every product i bought was directly delivered to me, no hassle and its just a matter of common sense to scan my hard drives for any spyware, virusses before i ever clicked purchase.

i think paypal would be good for those who dont want to use a credit card, or are too yong for it, but can already work and make their own $$$.

ask mom to register her credit card, but really use your debit?

i dont see why not add paypal as a payment option, i mean, if you shop with your credit card, just do it, if you cant, you can use paypal and pay deit without actually going to a store.

I think the "No, I would not use PayPal. (Please explain)" option should have an additional question asking if they're from the U.S. or not. It's obvious that people who already have easy access to the online store are not the people wanting this feature. I think the demand comes more from European/Non-U.S. countries like myself who don't have a Visa or Master Card as a standard creditcard. I DO have a creditcard but it's not a Master/Visa Card (it's a Maestro Card for those of you wondering), I'd have to specially request a Master/Visa card just for the sole purpose of being able to use the online store. I think that's why non-U.S. people would like this feature and I think it's relevant to see how many of these naysayers are from the U.S. and how many are not.
