I would rather just use my credit card than use paypal (which bills to my credit card anyway).
Paypal also periodically bugs me that I'm "approaching my spending limit", and I should "get verified" -to do this, they want information about my bank account, something that I will never allow.

I'm too young to have a credit card however i use my moms through her paypal account, I would rather pay for things (like i was considering getting an extra character slot) with paypal as I feal its more secure than giving out the card number.

"Yes. I DO NOT have a credit card, I DO currently use PayPal and I WOULD use it for GW purchases."
My first question on guru when the online store was released was if it would ever support paypall. Still waiting for that day.

how about first fixing the store so New Zealand and Australia use American Dollars instead of Euros and Pounds

I use paypal for ebay, but never for anything else.
With ebay, I'm buying products from people I don't know. I am much more comfortable using PayPal because I know they won't see nor abuse my credit card number.
With the exception of ebay, I just want a quick and simple payment process. Granted, the paypal option is probably easy, I also don't want to be bothered to have to lookup my account, login to it and then deal with the payment. I prefer logging into a secure website and just typing everything in.
So PayPal option or not, I will continue to use the standard credit card option, unless I'm nervous about your company (as I am with sellers on ebay).

Paypal? So gold farming bots can use the money they got from gold to buy more accounts easily? WTF!
mr_groovy
Anet has been to quiet on this, any updates yet?
mr_groovy
Want to purchase, Don't want to pay extra for a Credit Card. Still no update?
Divinitys Creature
It's because they are updating their gold farming bots to be able to use paypal.

No, I would not use Paypal. Why? Because my purchases are being tracked by another person, and I would much rather have them say, "Oh, he bought something from PlayNC (or any other place) directly. Okay," than "He put money into a Paypal account? Omg! What is he using a Paypal account for?!" And then I would have to awkwardly explain that I am not buying porn, drugs, or illegal artifacts, and that I'm just buying (whatever) from PlayNC (or wherever). And then I'd still be under suspicion. Stupid paranoid persons. T_T

Please, release some kind of small pack you can buy in stores that include the most important online shop stuff. I don't have a credit card, I don't have pay pal, and I really want this stuff. And no, I'm not a kid, I'm 20. I just don't have a credit card is all.
Personally I think you're screwing alot of ppl over with this Mission Pack promotion, I know you're just trying to make money and I'm ok with that but I just CANNOT get it, despite having money and the will to pay full price for this!!

I would rather use my credit card. I don't trust PayPal with my cc information. No good reason as I have never researched it, just non-specific Internet fraud/hacking fears.

There have been lots of cases where peoples CC info has been hijacked, and that is all down to ignorance at computer security, and having keyloggers, spyware on their pc's.
If anet brings paypal tomorrow, i would definetly deposit some cash on my account and buy stuff just to get the mission pack.

Nope.
PlayNC is rubbish and I prefer to purchase my games retail style and receive discounts AND two free T-Shirts.

Paypal?
Lawlz no.
Debit Card (Maestro) FTW.
The less things I have connected to my one Paypal account the better. If anyone got into it and fiddled it.... anything I had to use it to pay for would be effectively nerfed along with it.

No, I wouldn't use it, since I have no clue how to, plus I'm not sure if I can at all, here in the Netherlands. Why can't I just make a deposit on an account, with a certain code as description (which you get after you "order" the online product), you confirm the code, and I get the product on my account.
Wouldn't that be 10 times more easy?

Guild Wars Online Store already allows me to purchase using Credit Card.
I do not see any need to use a third party PayPal thingie.

alternative for people in the Netherlands for buying from plaync.com would be http://www.paysafecard.com/nl/
Unfortunately it's not accepted in the ingame store and plaync.com doesn't have character slots..

Sorry to hear about those with Maestro.

Ah that's a crying loud shame.
If only "Gaile" would, or could shed some light if they are still considering this.

Well to bad this wasn't implemented or some info on it. I decided to skip the purchase of Gwen + 2 Chars Slots as a whole. Loss of 60 Euro's. Oh well GG anet.

I have a credit card and it's working fine for me, No reason to register in Paypal and go through all the verification routine.

If you allow paypal, expect a lot of more support tickets IMHO.

No Paypal. Been two or three years; ago my Paypal Account got cracked. Will not take the risk again.

No, I won't use Paypal...
because of bad experiences with them. Like some people on ebay say... once you accept Paypal, you accept all the headaches that come with it too.

im just 19 and do not have access to a credit card, it would be great to have this but is a little to late as the Mission Pack Offer expires soon, my mum has PayPal set up but no longer have use of the credit card(expired) and do not plan on getting another 1(cost way to much)...
there are those(12-19) who dont have access to credit cards but our mums will let use PayPal....and notice the only people saying no are the ones WITH credit cards

I wont use pay pal just simply cause there is nothing worthwhile to buy from anet.Noway i am going to pay 2xprice for something i can get cheaper where i live. And besides, damn anet for not fixing the bugs! I am sick of them!
warcrap
man i sure wish anet would implement the payment option of surfpin which is the most convenient fastest safest and best way to pay for things online.
until then i will not touch the online store due to hackers and i.d thefts
btw their isnt really nothing to buy well unless anet opens up an item shop or something.

Gaile I know this thread is old but maybe you should have stated: Would you rather have it as an option in addition to credit card or would that be pointless.
I would rather have it as an option since I use paypal for many things. The last time I used my credit card outright I got charges that didn't belong on there and my numbers sold to other companies who also picked at it. I finally caught it and canceled the card, but now I am fighting to get that fixed.
With PayPal I dont have to worry about that.
