55 Necro HM farms! (lots of pictures)
Arnack
Good guide, Fuzzy Taco.. think you can make a solo guide for outside Hot Springs?
Fuzzy Taco
outside hot springs is easy, standard 55 SS takes em down easy. the solo UW/FoW builds could do it in a flash.
Avatar Exico
Nice Build in all. I have problems with it Energy is scarce with 1 foe and the Hekets which dont know you did it are hard to kill the Warriors ones they have Ang.Chop when Deep Wound which is making it very hard to Cast Spells. I tryed to cast SV that got interputed, Prot Spirit-Interputed, Healing Breeze also got interputed every skill i casted was getting interputed making me die is few secs.
Fuzzy Taco
where are you fighting the hekets that are interrupting you? on the shak-jarin run?
Avatar Exico
Yes the ones on Shak-Jarin Run
Fuzzy Taco
interrupt shouldn't be a problem as long as you kill the necro first. he powers their interrupts with mark of fury. once you've killed him with SV + IP, kill off hekets one by one. i never usually use Healing Breeze vs. hekets because its 1 sec cast time almost always gets interrupted. i maintain hp with PS an spirit Bond alone. kill em off one by one till al dead. hope that helps!

pimp!
what about that quest that spawns tons of margonites.. think this build can handle that?

no way. the mesmers are enchant strippers and edenial, the necros do TONS of degen and strip enchants, KD from the warriors, interrupts from the rangers, and there's too many of them. we'll leave that quest to the splinter barragers.
Arnack
weird, my friend was boasting about how he could solo it with his 55 monk.
Fuzzy Taco
idk how he would've done it, perhaps with spellbreaker + sliver armor? i'd like to see a little bit of proof though.

Which would you say nets the most gold?
Very well done guide, i'm sure many will appreciate this, and the subsequent overflowing of their bank balance

It's always nice when a poster spends so much time and effort on a guide like this. Kudos to you, and thanks for the awesome info

i'm glad everyone is happy with the guide so far, and i got a few places that i need to keep experimenting with before i add them to the guide (at the moment they're really tough, and i need to modify the build a bit.) also, one quick thing i can say right now: i've gotten a lot of pm's in game regarding the Hidden City of Ahdashim and the vehjin mines behemoth run. i forgot to change this in the guide: for those two runs, please use the 150hp build. you can tank all of the first room in the city, and you can also tank the entire boss group on the behemoth run (the boss is Marobeh Sharptail, she's my elite dervish tome factory atm.) anyway, i'll add as many new spots as i can, and thanks to everyone for being so supportive!
FrAnt1c??
Nice builds and places, I also farm luxon assassins ( halycon job ) and dragon moss ( a new escort ) with my 55hp SS/IP build, easy and quick

Arnack is right. i love the desert, and i like it even more since i figured out how to farm it. after all my desert runs, i come back with a full inventory and at least 2 gold items on average. Have fun with that!

Been trying a few of these out, and i really enjoyed them! can't believe how long its been since i played my necro. Now he's back to being my primary. Thanks alot for all the obvious hard work that went into your guide, much appreciated and enjoyed. looking forward to the next spots.

Question for you: I tried Kinya Province build exactly as shown in the picture
code for SV/Parasite build: OANFQsF314jT9AkoF3DqQ9h8QkA
The biggest problem I have is surviving. I can take 1 maybe 2 at a time but I have a really hard time staying alive when there's a mob since there's no protection and I can only run SV on 1 foe. Any tips on how you run these places or deal with mobs or use a different build ? Running at 55 hp with above build
thanks

i'm not quite sure how you're dying..... how many are you aggroing at one time? it should be easy to only aggro 4 or 5, which are easily survivable. especially with Spirit bond as an emergency button. i don't know if you're trying to aggro all the kappa and all the mantids, or if you're having other troubles. my guess is that you're aggroing more than 10 mantids or so, which you can't do with this build. you kill them one at a time anyway, so aggroing them all at once won't help.
hurric
I'll try pulling maybe this time (I use a totem axe so I'll replace it with a blood wayward wand and try)
Other question is how do you avoid interrupts in UW. When I 55 with my monk there I usually get 2-3 spells interrupted and I'm done for. Thanks for response. I'm totally copying all your 3 builds and trying them out one at a time.

one last thing to make sure of: you must use AL15 armor for spirit Bond to trigger as often as possible. i hope that helps your kinya province situation.
as for UW interrupts, they're easy to counter. just use Mending 3 times, let it get interrupted 3 times, and then cast SS + suffering. that's for the aatxes anyway. for the graspings, pull by casting SS on one, use PS when they get close, let them each hit once with distracting Blow and then use Healing Breeze and Suffering. they'll be dead in no time.

07/18/07: added Pockmark Flats area. a classic of farming runs: short and sweet.

This guide is great
Just a quick question, I've been farming the desert quite a bit recently, but which do you think gives better drops, hydras or blessed griffons?
This guide has been the totem for all my 55'in, keep up the good work!

you mean DESERT griffons, right? assuming you do, they both give pretty good drops, however, there are less griffons than hydras. i tend to clear out all the hydras in skyward reach, then go on to vulture drifts and clear out the griffons and the sand elementals and sand drakes and minotaurs. also, (big surprise!) you get tons of elementalist related golds (wands, staffs, offhands) from hydras, but griffons (i like them) have a great gold long sword droprate, which a lot of people like. i got 50k for a req. 10 15^50 one.
Fuzzy Taco
07/24/07 - i read Godlike Satan's old SB guide on the FoW, and changed the FoW build and tactics. is now 500% easier to do, and my survival rate has been perfect with the new build.
Fuzzy Taco
one thing i need to tell everyone: i'm perfectly okay with people pming me in game and asking questions, but if you pm me, PLEASE make your questions logical. don't ask me for money (you know who you are), threaten to hack my account if i don't give you a demo (again, you know who you are) and please don't ask questions that i've answered in the guide / posts about the guide. my friend has been using my account for a little bit (i let him make a couple characters to get a feel for GW) and he's been bombarded by (stupid) questions and demands. again, pming me is fine, as long as it's a logical question / comment.
Fuzzy Taco
pweeze exsqueeze mah double post.
Steboy93
Hi again, ty for answering question, you were right i did mean desert griffons, but strangly enough ive been getting quite a few swords from hydras :O
Once again fuzzy, great guide and all the best

Fuzzie, is asking you to do a UW HM run video too much? I already tried 5 times and I always fail.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Fuzzy Taco
i can probably do a video, i'll just DL one of them fancy shmancy video making type programs. however, i'm a little busy lately with real life commitments, so please don't pressure me about the video. i don't handle pressure well. :P
bodydoc
Thanks for everything Fuzzy. You help me out with everything. You are good person! Guys, respect Fuzzy! Thank you again for everything

Anyone else having trouble farming the FoW? I'm going in as 105... and I can only last about 10seconds on the first group. I'm casting Vigorous Spirit last to cover for any Enchant strips.... but my healing just cant keep up.
Fuzzy Taco
well, angelo, the FoW isn't an easy solo to begin with. however, i have changed the build a bit to make it a whole lot easier. the fix? replace Vigorous Spirit with Spirit Bond. (i changed it recently in the guide, adding another FoW change considering this got bumped up.) use SB as a cover enchantment and to pop up your health to max, especially with burning and the group to the right of Rastigan. also, run 55 health in the FoW, 105 health makes the run a WHOLE lot harder.
well, i guess i'll save myself a post and tell y'all the change right here: i'm changing the shadow army route to FoW. instead of immediately taking on that right group, i'll change it for the easier to go AROUND the big group, kill the 2 monk 1 mesmer group, the 2 patrolling ele's, and the monk / 2 warrior groups. then you cvan go after the huge, beasty group to the right of Rastigan without aggroing the two patrolling eles, which can push you over the edge.

Hi Taco, I have been using the standard 55 necro SS build, but am having trouble facing anything with dgen using mend + HB (bug maybe?). can you suggest any tips for a new necro farmer (limited to holycon job atm), that has experience with 105 monk + 55 a bit, 330 rit, ranger, and tried dervish farming slightly.
Also would 105 necro be usable to farm as SS, cos thats what I,m used to with monk?

I'm sure Taco won't mind me answering some questions for you (or do you, Noodle ). If you have problems facing degen with Mending + Healing Breeze (that's a hell lot of degen) you can try putting some other skills in your skillbar that can save you. The best choice would be probably Spirit Bond, heals your full health bar for a reasonable amount of time, unless you are facing mobs bigger than 8/10+.... Or you can try Insidious Parasite, which heals you for 45 health every time an enemy hits you with an attack (or ofcourse both, which is needed in FoW). Running 105 would be possible, but not that efficient since you will have to add Blessed Aura to your bar with no points in Divine Favor (you don't need to, all together 105hp isnt that great for a Monk secondary, too much energy). If you want to face huge mobs, you however CAN go 150hp with a +45 hp mod when enchanted. Use Protective Spirit and alter between Shielding Hands and Shield of Absorbtion to get zero damage every hit .
