330hp Rt/Mo Vengeful Spirit Bonder -Quick HM Farming!
Farseer Taldeer
Just a quick comment on the CoF stuff ^^
I started farming / running CoF before the Reversal of Damage correction.**
After the correction I made two slight changes to the smiter build and I still continue to run CoF with no issues whatsoever.
Only changes I made were to swap out Purge Signet with Signet of Devotion.
And added a shield into Tahlkora's weapon set. -2 physical dmg and +45 hp, both mods while enchanted. I don't even know if RoD rolls against armor, or if having a minus to physical damage helps either. Regardless, the +45 hp definitely helps her stay alive between Sig. of Dev. casts when getting railed by the RoD from the banshees. Anyway those two changes easily countered the RoD fix back in Feb.
And if anyone is having trouble keeping their hero smiter alive, make sure that Signet of Devotion is enabled. And that you fight far enough away from them that they don't run up and cast it on you. Which shouldn't be an issue, because if they're close enough to cast, they're close enough to get nuked and die =(
And while Pain Inverter certainly helps for bosses/Murakai, it's certainly not needed. I think I still maintain a faster average time for complete run than most Mo/Me runners. (Then again the few runners I've paid lately have been pretty terrible). Either way, if anyone has some issues running their 603 through CoF, msg me in game sometime, I'd be glad to help you out.
Put the monks out of business!!!! ^^ We need a small army of r10 Delver Rt/Mo runners in Doomlore ; )
Also, as a small side note, the 603 Rt/Mo and Spellbreaker Mo smiter work really well for farming EOTN areas. I haven't gotten any amazing loots to brag about doing that, but I've gotten a crap ton of EOTN faction that way ; )

One more note, from experience. . .
conditions in CoF are annoying. even though your smiter loses purge signet for sig. of devotion, it still will counter death-by-conditions.
if you're bleeding/poisoned and low on health, (and assumed not to be in combat, or else you'd be getting heals anyway), just bring your hero to you / go towards her. hero AI seems pretty solid for casting sig. of devotion on whoever has the lowest health. so even if your hero is missing hps from RoD or walking through a poison cloud, they'll pretty much always heal you up first.
and eventually, with a bit of timing, you should be able to plan your incoming heals so you'll never end combat with low enough hp to die from conditions.
i used to die in Fahrunar from bleeding, i'd have to take my runed armors off so i'd have enough hp to survive. but after a bit of practice you'll just learn how to sneak in that last vengeful weapon lifesteal to make sure you don't die from bleeding/poisoning ; )

I have updated my 600hp dual guide for a new build I put together for the Smiter Monk... helps keep them alive. I usually never use Rebirth, so I put Illusion of Weakness instead... and then I slapped in Sig of Devotion instead of Purge Signet. The conditions are definately annoying for tanker, and it sucks I had to throw something else in. Guess you could always take Mending Touch on 600hp rt/mo instead of LoD. LoD does help speed things up though, along with Pain inverter. I also don't like using Rebirth when I die, as it don't give you much energy and takes way to long to set up again... If I die, rarely, I usually would rather sac the smiter and res up at a shrine to get everything going quickly again without waitin for regen. But thats only cause I used to do whole runs without dying at all, so Rebirth wouldn't really come into play much... unless you die alot.
I used to do alot of CoF runs, but I haven't done any at all lately. I haven't fully tested out the new Smiter build, but I did manage to take on a group with 3 Banshees no problem.

Update: Added link to new video for farming IWAY warriors in Zaishen Challenge for Balthazar Faction. Figured I would finally try it out on the IWAY warriors, and then found out that it works good on them as someone has mentioned... so I figured I would make a video for it. You do have to beware of "Disrupting Chop", but it can be avoided. Also watch out for Spirit Bond, as some of them won't trigger Spirit Bond and will lower your health, so it is good to spam Vengeful Weapon and RoD while VWK is down and Spirit Bond is active. You can also use SoA to help keep your health up while VwK is not in use, but since it has 1 second casting there is a bigger chance of it being interrupted. You can also take off a piece of your armor (such as gloves/bangles) to help Spirit Bond trigger more.

very nice guide I'll be sure to start a ritualist soon

Where do you think the best place in factions to do this is?
I haven't gotten hm in nightfall yet.

Any staff will work fine really, as you don't get weapon/staff benefits when holding item spells. But it is good to have alot of energy when VwK is not in use, and it is also good to have Half Recharge and Half Casting mods as well. Getting half recharge on VwK will help speed things up, and actually make it a bit safer for you. Health mods on staffs won't affect the build at all, since your health will drop back to 330hp when you use VwK or any item spell. When you use a staff with health bonuses, it will actually allow Retribution to do more damage while VwK is not in use. There really isn't any problem at all using staffs with +30-60hp mods. A good thing about the build is any weapons will work fine, but of course some caster mods will give you more better benefits.
If you don't have the money to get the recommended weapons, it's ok, just use what you can get until you make lots of gold and then decide if you want to buy a better farming set.
If you don't want to use Seize the Day inscription because of the -1 energy pip, you can use an Insightful (+5 en) staff head with +5^50 "Hale N Hearty" inscription on any inscribable staff for +20 energy without the -1 energy pip. It's only a 5 energy difference, but can be better having that extra 1 energy pip. There are alot of green staffs that have +15 to +20 energy from similar mods also.

Can you farm anything that drops items that collectors want?
if so, is there any ritualist items that you can get that would work for this farming build from this?
just got mine setup and im excited!

Used to farm with my rit as a different kind of farmer, but stopped after a while for a bash on my 55. Saw this thread and thought about getting out my rit again for a try. Paid off well. Got an easy 30k after just over 1.5 hours of selling whites and runes, as well as the odd tome. Still got the golds I collected to shift yet, plus stacks of materials.
Definitely a good change if you get sick of '55'ing.' Kudos to you mate!

Did some testing, this can farm Strongroot Tanglebranch on normal mode.
Start off in Unwaking Waters, head to Morostov. Don't aggro the Afflicted, head left and take out the Stone Scale Kirin, then head down and around and take out the Kirin/Dragon Moss group. Make sure to watch your HP.
Then aggro Strongroot's group and make sure to spam Vengeful and renew Spirit Bond when you can.
I think it works in HM as well since you'll be taking more damage, but the presence of Dragon Moss might be a problem. I'll test it out later on, I'm thinking that a Rt/Me might be more useful for this.
EDIT: Big thanks to those Luxon Sins for the two Superior Vigors they just dropped me.

Yeah I'm headed to try it right now.
The problem with Dragon Moss is that they use Shatterstone and if 3 or more hit you with it at the same time you'll get spiked to death.
I think I may be able to use the rock you walk around to my advantage though, as you can get right outside their range so they only attack, and then you can draw Strongroot to you.

maybe this has already been asked (31 pages is a lot tread through) or maybe i'm just missing something. but i thought spirit bond only triggered if you took 60 damage from a hit. if you have protective spirit up and you're only taking 33 damage, how does this help? can someone clarify for me please?
Barbie
Spirit Bond and Protective Spirit stack to great effect. If a target has both Spirit Bond and Protective Spirit on him and takes 100 damage, the target will first be healed due to spirit bond, and only thereafter will protective spirit kick in and reduce the damage to 10% of the target's health.

It kills the Iways in under 20 seconds.

It kills the Iways in under 20 seconds. Could someone point me in the right direction for this Gladstance/channeling Build build I would just like to see it. I did search and found a build from ReZDogg but, was not sure if that was it. Also checked PvXWiki and didn't see it there either.
Thanks,

Any staff will do, and the req/mastery doesn't matter. Just get some mods for it and your all ready to go. Just buy a +5 Insightful Staff head and +5^50 Hale N Hearty with whatever staff wrapping you want, mainly 20% Enchant. I personally use a Tengu Restoration Wand and Offhand with two 20% HSR mods, which can be best to half recharge VwK. If you got the Bonus Mission Packs, you can get all the free weapons you want. You could also just pick up an Alem's Remedy restoration green for pretty cheap. If you need help on a weapon, just PM me in game and ill hook you up. IGN= "ReZ Dogg"

this is sooooo fun!!
xxx wraith xxx
if you want cheap as good items just get Collector items ussualy the stuff needed for them is like 50g/ea so a max of like 250 for a weapon. It already has inherent mod so all you need is a +5e insightfull (bout 1k i gues) and a +20% enchant mod (4k-8k) so verry cheap imo.
Ares Ainia
I use a Fiery Flame Spitter with a +20% enchats mod on it, along with a resoration focus from
Gertrud
Does the job fine, gives me about 55 Energy before the 1st casting of vwk with all radient runes

UPDATE!: NO MORE SPIRIT BOND BUG!!!! YOU CAN RENEW IT AS OFTEN AS YOU WANT NOW, NO NEED TO WAIT FOR IT TO WEAR OFF! I knew the build could only get better instead of nerfed, and eventually they were going to fix the bug. Bout time!

Tried it on Luxon Sins... spamspamspamspamspam =D

Yeah I had noticed it a couple days ago that I wasnt having as much trouble with spirit bond and was thinking that I was actually timing it so that I would renew right after the 8th hit. I have been having fun with this build for the last couple weeks. The rit has always been my favorite char to do all the missions with but now I can actually use her for farming.
ThiafYeroled
Wonderful. I haven't farmed in probably one or two years; I was one of the 55 HP monks at one point, but some time after that I ended up solo farming less and less, and me and my old-skool-ness had no idea had to solo on a Rit, despite loving my Rit and thus needing pretty much any soloing to be on that char for me to get around to it... This is a nice, fairly cheap (about 1.5k, 'cause I didn't have Retribution on my Rit. xP) and pretty easy build that's worked fairly well for me so far. xP Just have to get used to spamming enchants, but if I recall, that's Soloing 101. Thank you, Your Awesomeness Sir ReZDoGG, for posting it here.

RezzDogg: Many many thanks, just farmed Nahpui quarrter a few times, got back to back gold Celestial longbow drops in my last two runs! r9 and r11 but its all v.good so thanks for the build!!!
Quick note on the weapons which people might find good in the OP, Alem's Remedy for a start staff suits me really well (decent energy plus no -1 regen) easy to get all the ench's up and running and still get back to max energy, good outside of fights to regen too, cost me 4k.
As for a "perfect" set, 20/20 focus, collectors item from Vasburg Armory 5 truffles. I found the truffles a little hard to come by, best option is just outside the armory in Morostov Trail, take a left out of portal to find them in pairs rather than singly tagged along with Dredge.
Wand 20% HSR +15/-1 -Collector -Helming Baldbrow 5 Berserker Horns , just outside Olafstead, easy to farm for the horns so a great option.
I did also craft a norn staff and mod that as suggested but find i just use Alem's and then the wand/focus combo whilst in combat.

Great build. My first venture into farming, and I've really caught the hang of staying alive during the nine seconds without [VwK].
Only question: Spellcasters seems to spellcast more than wand me, so I end up just spamming vengeful and wanding them to death. I'm farming Fahranur, and the ice skale and casting undead always give me problems.
Oh, I'll just bring [backfire] I said to myself. Well, yeah.
How do you go about killing the mobs that don't use physicals?

How do you go about killing the mobs that don't use physicals? Well all casters wand too, but some casters might have spells they can spam one after another. Example of casters that spam are like the Kappa in Factions, they won't trigger VwK with stone daggers, but eventually they will run out of energy and start wanding... some will wand at first and die quicker, and 1 or 2 will only spam Stone daggers. Vweap and RoD will still do damage back to them if VwK ain't triggering at first, but like I said, they will eventually run low on energy and begin wanding. This usually happens mainly against eles that use those 1 sec recharge spells like [Flare], [Stone Daggers], and [Ice Spear]. Smiting skills like [spear of light] and [smite] can be good also with shorter recharge. [Pain Inverter] is also great to take instead of RoD, it can do massive damage quick to the enemy hexed with it... it still works good with low asuran rank too. Pain Inverter can help to take out those pesky casters.
Farming Undead casters are slow attacking, so it can give you energy problems if you spam spells more than you need to. First City is one of those places, since the necros have slow casting spells... If you want you can always throw in a [Symbol of Wrath] (just cast it while standin next to them) or [Signet of Mystic Wrath] to take out casters quicker. Anything that targets one enemy will help out, but holy damage on undead do double damage of course. Signet of Mystic Wrath will do 200 dmg against undead, but 20 sec recharge. Check out other Smite skills, or use some EotN PvE only skills to hlep kill single enemies faster.

i've been using this a lot, and i was trying to vanquish panjaing peninsula with it, but whenever i killed a mob of kappas, there was always 1 kappa remaining that didn't take damage from VwK. I'm assuming that for some reason it never wanded me, but i find that odd, and with only one person attacking me it takes forever to kil it and maintain energy.

I just wanted people to know that using Starter armor does not give you that extra 1 attribute point when using the 5AL head wrap. This will cause you to only reach 15 points in Restoration. I know I mentioned using Starter armor, and lower the AL the better, but I didn't know that the Head wrap doesn't give you that extra +1 attribute point until now. It's been well over a year since I last started a new character, and I never kept any of my starter armors for farming, so I never realized this. Well, I made a 2nd Ritualist the other week for storage, and realized this little issue with Starter armor... I know alot of you must know about it, but there might be a few people that didn't realize this, and has been farming with only 15 Restoration... You can avoid this by using a 15AL head wrap from the Monastery instead of using the 5AL wrap. Use the 15AL wrap with your Starter armor (Chest/Bangles/Leggings/Feet) so you can get the full 16 in Restoration. I know it might not be much of a difference, but higher the better for VwK. But yeah, if anyone wants to get full 16 Restoration with Starter Armor, use a 15AL head wrap from Monastery.
