330hp Rt/Mo Vengeful Spirit Bonder -Quick HM Farming!

Outside of Serenity Temple ( think thats the name ) there are Stormriders that are farmable in HM. I get a few golds, some runs a lot of Elementals spawn instead of Riders. It can also be tricky because of the Daze from Carrion Devourers. You may want to take a long casting signet, such as Blessed Signet, (instead of Reversal of Damage ) to draw out the Skull Cracks if you think you might get dazed.
Nice thing about the stormriders are that they are ranged so they wont run from VWK.

i prefer taking on smaller groups (like in uw) because any bigger groups in HM will run to heal and can take ages to kill. i find 4-6 melee enemies will stay with m til they die most of the time. any more than that and they are off. me and two guildies have made a three man build to try clear all of UW but have only had time to clear the ice floes. will post builds if we manage to get everything clear. makes a change to solo too when farming with friends

Looks like I'm going to be getting a Ritualist for this..

That is true if you get bigger grp it will make other run away and heal. that i agree with Vita lite. With nerf on HM you can only have 1-3 Monsters on you at most any more that will run away to heal and the aggro will be broken.

The trick to taking on big groups is to go in with a friend! With two targets, they don't run away and heal... they run around for a second or two, then attack your friend. Your kill rate is significantly quicker...

I like how this cuts through corsair so quickly compared to Mo/D. I haven't touched my monk for farming since I made my rit .

I like your build too much, so a lot of thanks in advance!
But I have two simple questions, both related to this nice video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6xLsoJNJGo
1- Where did you got that weapon and offhand? I am really interested onto get an offhand with those stats, really. Or do you recommend a staff? I ask because in that video of UW HM solo, I see you with the Icy blade. :P
2- What skin of armour you use in the video?
Thanks

ok, really nice build, im happy to solo uw with my rt again after they nerfed the old build i used. and now its HM so its even better
anyway- im facing some problems.
a. prot spirit getting interrupted =\ anything i can do against that or is it just luck?
b. nightmares. ok, in the beginning i hide behind benton but what do i do later? all mobs run much faster than i do.
c. energy, sometimes i even find myself without enough energy to recast prot spirit but i guess its my fault. this frequently happens when i take a single aatxe, cuz essence + balth doesnt fuel me enough.

Thanks 1. The Icy Blade axe I bought and put mods on it for a caster weapon. Offhand is a Writhering Focus, req 9 restoration, 10% recharge inscrip, and +1 restoration (20%). I usually switch to these when casting on my enchants so I dont have that -1 degen of energy. That way my energy will gain alil faster... Then before I take on a group, I switch to my staff as it has way more energy to use. I recommend +15 "Seize the Day", which has -1 degen.
2. I use the Seitung armor in Shing Jea Monastery, and its Dyed White. Not bad looking armor for only 15 rating. Seitung Armor (Shing Jea Monastery)

A. When dealing with Blade Aaxtes, always renew Protective Spirit soon as the previous one is at about half of its duration. This way if that renewed one gets interrupted, you will have enuff duration on previous one to last long enough for Prot. Spirit to recharge and give you second chance to hit it. It uses up alil more energy, but not that much.
And with dealing with 1 Blade, make sure you don't spam vengeful weapon and RoD too much. I usually only use Vengeful Weapon when dealing with one enemy, as its higher stealing and only 5 energy. So, don't use RoD when dealing with one unless you wanna use it when he's almost dead to finish him off quicker. After killing a group and find yourself lower than whats needed, take off all enchants... switch off your staff, and let energy gain full. Then recast all enchants one by one to let energy gain full before casting another. Third casted enchant you really don't need to wait for your energy to gain full, as you will only have +1 regen. Switch back to your staff, and you should be ready for next group.
When you aggro one of the group of Blades on top of steps, usually there is a Dying Nightmare there. Soon as you hear the Nightmare, turn around and run behind NPC Spirit. You can recast Protective Spirit while running, but only after your enchants were stripped by Nightmare. This way if Blades to hit you, you won't die and have enough time to get behind the NPC. Once Behind NPC, recast Prot. Spirit, and use VwK to kill off nightmare. Then after Nightmare is dead, recast Enchants one by one again.... then kill Blades.
Also, if you have no energy while holding VwK, since your staff energy bonus don't apply when holding Items....Drop VwK if Protective Spirit is about to end, and cast it once you get your staff energy bonuses. But make sure to hit Spirit Bond again. When low on energy, just use Protective Spirit, Spirit Bond, and VwK to tank and let energy gain full before using Vengeful Weapon or RoD. I also recommend trying Mending Touch for the Graspings, that way you get chance of removing dazed if that applies. Dazed can easily get you killed.... I have not yet to test out Mending Touch as I haven't been playing much lately.
But, to farm UW with this build you will need some experience to complete runs. But sometimes, interruptions can kill you no matter what. Learning is the only way to go. I still die here and there when farming UW with this build. Its worth learning, since Blade Aatxes die so fast...which can speed up runs.

i am really likeing this build great idea rezdog.
ive been playing around with it in DoA and it seems to have some potential in almost any area with a smiter(regular shield of Judgement and retribution smiter) and Spell Breaker(mo/r serpent's quickness).
Foundry
I was able to kill everyone exept one archer at the end( of the first group)(both in NM and HM) but the damn archer keeps using debilating shot and i run into energy problems and then i die. But up until that point it's much faster than the famine build and alot less delicate.
Gloom
Too many guys attacking at one point in time might be better off with 105.
Stygian
Killing the Shadow Army in both HM and NM is really easy and can most often kill the group with 1 vwk.
City
Havent given it a shot with a human sb, but with my hero sb the first group (the one without the margonite ki) is full of casters and without a decent sb is really difficult to manage.
any tips and questions are welcome

any tips and questions are welcome Nice find. Since the DoA update I thought my build might have some use there now in NM... I forgot about using a SB Monk to farm with. I will have to give it a try sometime. I thought it might be possible to solo some areas in NM since the update, but I don't know the area good enough to think of what I could kill... I don't spend much time in DoA so I could be wrong about the solo part.
You should show me some runs sometimes mane I would like to know DoA alittle better. I never took the chance to try out any duals there. My IGN is "ReZ DoGG"

well i haven't unfortunately be able to get very far in either area but i blame it on trying to control me+3 heroes at once and im not that great at multitasking. i usualy fail due to stupid mistakes like forgetting to keep protective spirit up or spell breaker up.
i also found out that bringing a famine ranger along with qz and putting sv/av on my smiter can help control melee enemies which are the hardest to deal with in my opinion.
if anyone wants to help out with this build

i only have factions so thats a huge problem to me because
i cannot use balthazars or essence bond. i have 52 energy altogether
for my Rt/Mo and i was wondering if i took on small groups like u did,
and took a brief break between each group of enemies, could i still
farm using VwK, vengeful weapon, etc.?

Another thing, is you got 3 skill slots to fill. Try these skills which are available in Factions.
Smiting:
[card]Signet of Rage[/card][card]Kirin's Wrath[/card][card]Spear of Light[/card] (Some of these you will have to target a single enemy, which can help to speed up things. Kirin's Wrath might spread the enemies out, which can be bad or good. Use it to finish off enemies if they didn't die after one VwK usage)
Restoration:
[card]Weapon of Shadow[/card][card]Blind Was Mingson[/card] (both used for blinding enemies so you won't have to use any more than one Spirit Bond usage when VwK is recharging)
Tested these out and they seem to work fine without any major energy problems. And make sure if you got a "Seize the Day" inscription on staff, switch off the staff so you won't have -1 pip of energy, and let your energy gain full before taking on another group.

Issnur Isles is good for farming pretty much the whole area, and Mehtani Keys also is a decent place to farm. You can kill alot of Insects and Skales in these areas. There is also groups of corsair you are able to kill. Basically both Factions and Nightfall starter Islands are great for farming in HM, since there is not many Enchantment stripping, Knockdowns, or Interruptions. I farm these Islands alot, and get many gold items.
I guess it doesn't matter what staff you use, aslong as you got the 20% recharge and mastery of staff doesn't matter. 10% casting is also good to use on a staff, along with extra energy bonuses. 20% enchants are recommended, as there isn't much staff wraps that are useful in the build. Unless you were to have a "Restoration" staff and use a +1 (20%) Mastery wrap... which the only known staffs that I know of are the Tormented for restoration. I still recommend +15 energy "Seize The Day" inscription on a staff for more energy to use. Alem's Remedy would be an ideal green staff to use with this build, it has 20% recharge and +25 energy with no energy degen.

At the moment I'm using a caster's Colossal Scimitar with 10% recharge and the Restoration Effigy from the end of factions. Although this does put my health to 360, I still gain the same amount of life stealing while hold VwK, but Retribution does an extra 1 dmg from the extra health ( when not using VwK ) so i don't see the downside of having my off hand with +30 hp since it will be negated by VwK, and can only help when I'm not holding it right?
Yea, 30% chance to recharge is nice. 10% from weapon, and 20% from offhand helps a lot.

Correct - weapons make no difference while you're holding the ashes.

What I meant by less life stealing benefit... is that you take 33 damage, and VwK steals 37 hp, so you will only gain 4 health every hit. and yeah, I know what you mean now. I didn't think of that for some reason You will still get 330hp when you hold VwK no matter what you use for weapons/items. Although I still use staff with 20% recharge, and 10% casting... Sometimes you can get half recharge of VwK a few times in a row, and that speeds up farming quite a bit.

Update: I had updated build with new template code. I have added Spawning to the attribute list, and to use a Sup Spawning rune. Using 5 Spawning will give you 10% longer weapon spell durations from using. It ain't much, but enough to get some benefit from left over attribute points that I didn't use before.

I currently use a crappy vwk but will try this. more farm are ideas are near maatu keep, arbourstone (stonereaper green if you can kill healer on the way) and vermin if retribution + say balthazars is swapped for anti knockdown + resilient weapon ot resilient was xiko (hold item maybe).
love the build but might try uw once I learn 55 uw and I have beat all 3 games so bring on gd farming times).

Ummm, Rt/Mo has no anti-knockdown skills. And taking out Balthazar's Spirit wouldn't be so smart, energy wise. And using Resilient Weapon would just take up an extra skill slot, when you have Spirit Bond to heal you plenty and counter any kind of Degeneration. So degeneration is no problem with this build if you know how to use Spirit Bond. There are areas this build can't farm effeciently because of major knockdowns and interruptions, like Arborstone. Monks are the ones that can counter them problems easily. But those farming places are old news...
I'd say try out the build so you will know what its like. It is a bit more difficult than a 55 Monk. A really good place to use this build is Issnur's Isles. There is around 250 Insects, Skale, and Corsair that you can kill and get major Sunspear points in about an hours time.

Yes, UW is possible... but it seems you gotta get lucky with the Graspings. Graspings are the ones that can kill ya from being dazed. I haven't been doing much UW runs lately since I don't go on at nights when we have favor. It's possible to complete a run, but can be pretty hard. It will take alot of learning and experience to complete a run, or just pure luck I have yet to do it enough to complete a run every time. Blade Aatxes aren't much of a problems, its mainly the Graspings. I have found a skill that might be good for removing dazed. Wielder's Remedy can be switched for RoD to remove dazed when using Vengeful Weapon.

First congrat to ReZ DoGG gor the excellent rating in PVX. I made an average of 1K in every 9 min. (66.7K per 10 hours!) plus lots of gold!
Just a question, do u usually stop at where u see sicked pets in Minister Cho's Estate (Gold mine lol)? or it's better to continue (I usually /resign there)

The sickened pets dont give no drops, I wish they did. But you can get hella Exp. points from them if u wanted to. Where I stopped the video is where I stop the run. It is a 10 minute run everytime, since you gotta stay ahead of the mhenlo and togo to keep them from dying. And the run ends when there is no more Warriors to kill.
Minister Cho's Estate Explorable also has alittle 5 minute run of mostly casters and some warriors, and do drop a good amount of gold items sometimes. But the Mission has all warriors, so they always drop gold shields and weapons. Can make money from the perfect mods you get from the swords and axes.
Just a question, do u usually stop at where u see sicked pets in Minister Cho's Estate (Gold mine lol)? or it's better to continue (I usually /resign there) Thanks.

Alot of people have asked the same question numerous times, if you skim through the post you will see it.
There is certain ways you have to take on groups in Minister Cho's Estate mission to keep the NPC's from dying. You also have to be really quick, quick as possible on getting to the next group. Add me to ur friends and I will show you sometime. if u still need help. IGN is "ReZ DoGG" It took me awhile to figure out how to do a successful run everytime, so it is alittle tricky on how you have to do the run without killing NPC's Holz
I've been doing some UW runs with this build. Killing the Aatxes is really easy, safer and easier to do than the other builds that can farm UW solo (I'm talking about Me/Mo, N/Mo..). I was really excited untill I pulled a group of 4 Graspings, Daze ftl! . Well, too bad.. Maybe someone will find something for that...
Note: I've cleared the Aatxes 3 times, in HM ofcourse. Guess what, NO single ecto. Aatxes suppose to drop ectos better than Smites, I guess UW is being ultra-overfarmed these days... Anyways, Minister Cho's sure is a good place to farm at, I had to get the hang of letting Togo survive but I'm getting some nice drops, too bad they're all uninscribable. |
