You know, I never even bothered with even checking /favor before, because it was always gonna say that Europeans had it. I saw America get it now and then, usually if I stayed up long enough to watch the sun rise. More often than not, I never even saw us win favor. And I saw Japan get it maybe three times.
Now I can log on and see that HOLY CRAP I can do what I want when I want without having to shell out extra/farm for a scroll or wait until the small hours of the morning!
So, /notsigned. I like this change. It's not perfect and there need to be some fixes (PLEASE remove Survivor from the list; jackass quitters don't need even more reason to max the title), but Anet can build those bridges when we come to them. Personally, I'd like it if there was no grind to earn favor, but I realize access needs to be earned somehow. I'm just happy that PvP doesn't limit my PvE anymore. There's nothing in PvE that prevented PvPers from reaching something, so I always sort of felt cheated.
One other point.

From day one, I thought the old favor system was the worst part of GW. Not because of the usual stated reasons, but because I thought that it drug nationalism and discrimination, quite unnecessarily, into a fantasy world.
Instead of talking about in-game nationalities like Ascalonian and Krytan, everyone was always bitching about Koreans, or Europeans, or Americans. What a terrible thing to artificially add to a video game, what with all of the miserable things going on in the real world these days.
I couldn't be happier to see the end of that system. Good riddance!

THIS. This, SO HARD. Everyone always complained so much about the Europeans always having favor that they barely paid attention to anything else going on. It divided us. And why should the gods of Guild Wars favor Europe over America when neither location exists in their world? Now we can all work together for the enjoyment of everyone. As noted, it's not perfect, but it's about three miles in the right direction IMO.
Nobody loses, except maybe the whiners who played HoH for favor only (I've seen maybe two ITT). Or the people stockpiling ectos. And those people can go on doing what they enjoy, find something else to do, or QQ more and quit. Don't really care.
