Runic Blades drop in EotN? can anyone confirm this?
Foe
Have heard many rumors and just about everyone and their uncle are trying to dump their Runic Blades today. Can this be verified?
Edit: Just talked to a guy ig selling a req 10 for 100k, it dropped in GWEN. Runic Blades gg

With Anet if its expensive chances are sooner or later they will do something to completely devalue it.
I would not be suprised if there was inscribable Crystalline drops...
Instead of adding existing weapons thus causing them to devalue drastically they should just make new skins.
But, judging from Anet's efforts in GWEN they must have ran out of ideas for skins and just decided to add HoH drops there instead...
Ive gave up caring now, quiting GW to take up options trading instead.

Platinum drops are common now as well. My time in Ventari's will be busy when EoTN goes live. Dwarvern axes are popping up a lot as well...
No more PvP players will be able to get insta rich from HoH drops

Tribal Axes and sickles definitely drop as purples/rares in GW:EN but I'm unsure of their rarity.
I've also seen a green with the Stygian Reaver skin but not an actual Stygian Reaver.
That's as much input as I can give.

Man that's sweet, Runics are by far the best "Rare" sword skin in the game, I only hope that they stay kinda rare.

Diddy bow
Yea, id sell my runics if i owned any :P. Not many rare skins left. Wonder if this means that Stygain reavers drop there too.

And something else, Anet have actually added a few new sword skins, some of them looks pretty cool.
Nemo the Capitalist
only play gw for fun wait to become rich for GW 2 then ur life cna have meaning again

@ Shuuda: Nothing effects me really. Inscribable items disgust me so I never owned one. Sucks to all the people who spent hundreds of ecto on a HoH drop only for it to become a common drop. Anet knew full well what the result of making them drop in GWEN. Non inscribable undroppable items = ftw in terms of investment.
Anet should just have designed new skins instead of jacking skins especially rare skins and making them alot less rarer.
I really do not know what Anet's fixation is with screwing people over knowing that they will be.
Adding Runic Blades as a HoH drop obviously will lead to high prices. That was 100% foreseeable.
Then making them a drop in GWEN. That is 100% forseeable that it will cause their price to drop.
Kinda bizarre why they feel the need to do that :S
It wasnt a needed change.
People worked hard for those hundreds of ecto needed to buy one and they knew they will fall drastically in price due to making them droppable. Just look at what happened to Serpent Axes and the Canthan version wasnt even the same appearance as inscribable HoH only version.
@Makosi: Yeah I would bet they are or will be. What with them being a 400e weapon in R9. We really cant be having that now in Guild Wars!!! Expensive weapons in GW O__o Dwarven Axes are dropping inscribable too from what I have gathered. Maybe Crystalline are going to drop common too.

lol a naff green thats another way to kill its price. I agree with what herb said though. Suddenly making these high end items much more common is very unfair on those who worked hard for them before and no herb we can all afford unconditionals .

Oh good. Maybe now I'll actually be able to get one.
Here's hoping for a new green with the runic skin, too. :P

i dont see what the big deal is. making pvp only drops available to pve players seems like a good thing to me.
and for all the multi billionaries that want "rare" items, anet created a "rare" minipet market just to accomodate you guys.
26 mini kanaxais in the whole entire world. if thats not rarity, i dont know what is
ps. i bought a colossal for 100k+100+ ectos when they were considered rare, now theyre worth 100k tops. just cause its worth less doesnt mean i like it less.

gg Anet, once again.. the usual
"you are not supposed to have very rare item that the casual player cant get"
"you are not supposed to have a full stash of cash and stacks of ectos because the casual player does not have that"
"let's make everything common, yipee "

Inscribable items are trash anyway. I couldn't care less. I'm a req. 8 Tyrian/Canthan skin purist.
placebo overdose
whenever i want a weapon i ask my self if i would buy it even if it were the most common skin and if not i do not buy it i like to have fun and look cool while doing it this happens to be my favorite sword skin and now i might be able to have my own that does not take away from anyone else's ego for having one and if it does that is shallow

Do you know who actually cares if you have some rare sword or axe? You know who only cared even 2 years ago? You, and only you.
You know what makes an item rare to me?
Me not seeing one.
You know what makes an item rare for you?
You being the only one to have one
You know what makes an item retain its rarity to me?
Me not making any effort to ever get one
You know what makes an item retain its rarity to you?
You being the only one to have one
Notice the differences? Or perhaps, you might see the similarity in that this long dead, over beaten, whined out discussion about rarity of items and those who 'deserve' them more than others has always been more about those who own the items, as opposed to those who could honestly care less that you have them (like me). Now, explain to me again how ANet is some massive failure all of a sudden because GWEN, the final episode of this wonderful game, is allowing Tribal axes to drop for just...oh my gosh!!... anyone??? What, are you touring all regions of the world, every outpost, every district, asking 7 real people to join your group everytime to take them just outside the entrance of whatever town you're in, to...what... show them your Tribal Axe? And to top it off, no one even knows it's gold, nor if it's R9, nor if it's inscribable. So honestly, who actually cares other than your fragile ego?
If you want to discuss how ANet is ruining the game, get all the people who actually enjoy the game for what it provides and see if they'll agree with you on this topic, as opposed to gathering a few self-proclaimed rare 'dealers' to speak up about what the game shouldn't provide for anyone else but you.

Rarity is overrated.
Now sweet-looking skins, that's something I can sink my teeth into! Gimme a r12 max damage inscribable blue Runic Blade anyday! I won't complain! I think every weapon my warrior has is between r11 to r13, and text in various colors (except for the obvious r9 greens that cost me all of about 3-5k). But you know what: I love every one of them. They are always useful, and they look good to me while my bitch is killing.
Though I do enjoy finding a nice rare item - cause it means I get to sell it for money which I will spend on skills, armor, and other fun things. Ah well, to each their own.

Wait a minute. Isn't the runic blade just an inscribable Gothic sword? Those drop in PvE already. Echovald forest, if I remember correctly. If I'm wrong, then so be it, but if I'm right then that is a reused skin.
The same thing people were complaining about is what has already occured. Geez, if that makes you all upset, then you have been upset for a pretty long time. Falchions drop everywhere, so does that make you mad? They craft shield of the lion in the north, too. Does that get you upset. Get over yourselves and play the game! Bunch of whiney little babies,QQ over everything...

Yeah, you're right, it's just a rename with an inscription. Honestly the skin is all I care about (as I mentioned), name/text color/req (cept shields, spears, and bows) mean nothing to me. The rarity of the item affects me only because if it is rare, it will mean it will be really hard to get/afford - which is bad. That's it. I honestly don't see what the big deal is.
-Loki-
I always find it funny when people claim Guild Wars will die because the less-than-1% of the community that cares about weapons that cost millions of gold get upset over a change to droprates/stats. Seriously, there aren't that many of you. There are many, many more people who want the changes.
DarkGanni
Would be nice if the HoH drops come to pve aswell, atleast everyone can get those weapons without being FORCED to pvp,its just unfair and it sucks.

Runic Blades are (were?) a HoH chest only drop. The inscribable gothic swords are Legendary Blades. Runic blades are a unique skin, only replicated in Mallyx's Edge (green)
Sorry, it doesn't have much to do with the talk about rare items, just thought I'd clear up a few things.

If its true its about damn time. Seriously Anerf should never have made them exclusively PvP or removed such rares from PvE in the first place.

Think the issue/arguement of rare weapons and rich vs poor people have been ongoing since guildwars started.
Rich want their rare weapons to remain rare and unachievable to the general public and the poors want every single skin in the game to be achievable with minimum effort.
No point making this thread into another arguement imo.
Well to stay on topic, yeah I a little disappointed that the HoH only Runic Blade can be found easily now. Good way to destroy and turn a 1000k weapon into a <100k one

The really poor players in the game don't give *%^$ about rare skins.
I know many players that would merch a rare drop because they don't know the value of the upgrades (wow, the sword has a 400g merch price, and I don't need a +30HP upgrade? ) . Or the skin if they find a rare one.
Players that only play with H&H and don't visit fan sites and wiki would never know that a Tribal Axe is/was considered a rare skin.
They will probably never see a Chaos Axe or Crystalline.
Then there are players that have knowledge on rarity, but don't care for the skins.
Most of my weapons go to heroes or in storage, I just don't want to spend time selling them and don't need the gold anyway.
Finally there is a small group of 'poor players' that wants the skin but cannot afford it and therefore cries on forums.
Well, poor is not exactly the right word, they probably have 15K or Obsi armor. Why would you want a 100K+E skin when your warrior has crappy 1.5K armor...
A solution might be to remove /don't add the gold counterparts from PvE and let those only drop in HoH.
I think this is currently the case with the crystalline.
That way, the skin will be obtainable for lots of people.
Since they are inscribably, they can be modded to max. Only the color remains blue/purple.
If people are still crying about that, then they don't want the skin, but they want the item for high-end trading.
Well, if you want that, go play HA. You know they drop there
kobey
yeah, my bad on over-generalization of the term 'rich' and 'poor'.

Its not all about me me me.
Anet made a rare item.
Anet must expect that rare item to be valuable as it is rare.
People pay for rarity.
They allow trading of rare item for long period of time.
Anet decide they dont want to make it rare anymore.
Alter drop rate.
Cause players who accumulated alot of gold to buy rare item to lose gold.
Its about what is fair. Anet dont need to keep releasing rare skins then making them common months later. They do this again and again. People buy the skin then it is worthless.
Anet should just stop adding rare skins if they keep making them common months later.
People worth their arses off to obtain the rare skins then they are screwed over by Anet.
If Anet stopped adding rare skins and they all had an equal drop rate I would be happy as at least people would not be screwed over.
Anet need to make their mind up. Do they want rare skins or not? As they sure as hell dont seem to have made their mind up at the moment.
If they make rare skins common to satisfy poor people each time. Then bloody dont add rare skins in the first place.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
And to all those people who stay stop QQ or w/e. Thats real considerate. No compassion.
Im not talking about just million gold + skins.
It is happening at lower levels and is affecting far more people.
People are grinding to buy a cool skin. They spend dozens of hours grinding for it. Anet know this will happen when they made the drop rate low. Tons of people grind and grind to get the skin. Then a few months later Anet decide they dont want it to be rare. Is that fair that Anet have done that? Anet should never have made the skin rare in the first place.
Obviously noone will give a shit though. Its all about cheap skins for me and screw the people who grinded for them.
They are driving players away from the game through doing shit like that. Making the skin common to begin with wont piss people off and make them quit.
Anet should stop changing its mind every few months about what they want as rare. That way threads like this wont pop up and annoy lots of players.
There is nothing wrong being rich, collecting items etc. Stop saying rich people or making out they are the most evil thing in GW. One could easily say poor people are nothing but lazy scrubs but that would be jerkish just like attacking item collectors just because they like collecting stuff.

Ahh the eternal debate...Marx was correct only once. Your financial situation determines your political views. If your poor, nothing should be rare and fow armour is ugly(oddly enough the same ppl will argue its not accesible to them )
If your rich ecto should be pegged @15k and every weapon in ur inventory should cease to drop for the unworthy. Heres one you can bank on, every mmo company screws their current customers for new ones. I have a good laugh when i see posts insinuating anets reasons for the direction of the economy are in some way ethical instead of marketing. Whatever, GWEN appears to be pretty sweet
