This is pretty much directed solely at the "i can't rage anymore" whiners.
It's kinda funny... You people are crying now because you actually have to play the game the way it was meant? lawl, that doesn't make sense at all. If you want to ensure you get good people and a team you know for sure can win then that's why we have TA. Go there for your ideal perfect team and quit crying cause you can't go unpunished anymore in wasting others time in RA by raging when you don't get what you want.
Personally tho, i think this new punishment for leaving system is great. For the first time in the year and a half that i've been playing gw RA will now be a viable, playable arena

I swear.... I might never be able to take my necro (Ghost of Cot Death) into Alliance Battle again for fear of running into another grieving ex-parent who suddenly decides to have it in for me because their baby died.
Reporting for leeching... and such things that actually influence the progression of play..... fine...
But reporting just because you don't like the name of another character should NOT be allowed. It does NOT influence gameplay in any way other than to cause a major inconvenience to whoever gets reported for it.... My Necro's name is TRADITIONAL for heck sake...
This report-function had better not stay..... -_-;

1) Was in AB today, accidentaly pressed the reset button on the computer with my foot.
2) Logged back in to get back to AB.
3) Dinner comes around a few minutes into the match, so I have to leave.
4) Finish dinner, log back in to see some stupid hex on me that tells me I can't PvP for an hour.
5) *Throws keyboard*.
And about this /report feature, all I saw in RA today in about every district was a bunch of twats swearing at everybody for the sake of seeing if they would get banned from /report. They didn't.

Lol, what a bad update.
The gladiator title track is fine, I have R4 now instead of R3
The /report thing is really bad. Point is that people are **** others in AB and in RA. In AB, you have teams that just /report everybody else, the other teams /report the others teams too and at the end, nobody gains faction and you can't leave, because of the stupid dishonour system......

^You can "enjoy" RA now? How was it before? Nothing has changed. Instead of people leaving when they see you running the worst build they are forced to try and play with your gimpyness. Nothing changed, excpet now RA is in a welfare state, meaning us vets are forced to put up with aggravating nubs that think going no-sub monk with orison of healing is cruise control for l33t!
Leavers were not a problem. It happend seldomly, and if it did then you just left yourself and were more than likely in a different game within 30 seconds. So explain to me how the same arenas that favor teams with healers has become more fun for you?

This new update is pathetic. More so then GWEN amour!
First of all, they have made it easier for that large group of people who go to places like Random arenas and just screw around for the hell of it. Now they wont leave and will pester the other players until the good players just leave because they cant stand it any longer.
Secondly, I reserve the right to leave a group if they are complete noobs. 98% of the time a team sounds good just before you leave but the second you enter the battle it's now a point of no return. For example, in Alliance battles, I now have to stay on the losing team when it's pretty obvious your going to lose the whole match. On average that's 8 minutes I have to stand there pretending to care whilst the rest of my team either abuses the luxons or they just leave.
My last major concern is where Anet obviously didn't pay any attention to the outcome. The /report command? Which genius thought that one up and decided to introduce it at the same time as this stupid dishonor timer? Now not only are you forcing people who are fighting amoungst themselves to stay together in a losing team for longer, but your giving them the chance to spam /report. You think this will help? The reason why people are fighting in the first place is because they have to stay where they are if they want to play again afterwards.
This new update is just going to stir up more trouble. In the past, you would have to make an effort to report someone, and even then, the player would have to seriously care about the issue to send the email because in between the original little fight players have and actually getting to their NCsoft account, they forget all about it or just stop caring. But now it's just a simple word away from getting someone who swore at you banned.
(If you aren't offended by anything on the internet, then you aren't on the internet, its a fact of life and people get over a few seconds of rage) Way to stoke the fire.
I'll give Anet about a week before they either get bored of the complaints or just get annoyed with the plethora of "/report" messages they have to go through to find the legit cases.
Don't believe me? Go to Kamadan for 5 minutes. Just about every second message is "Hey ____! I just /reported you!", "Well I just /reported you too!".
The constant PVE nerfs. Eye of the North. This update. It's a slippery slope isn't it?

I have no sympathy for leavers who wont play unless they have the exact right situation in which to work. Ive always though of RA as being about survivability without a monk as 70% of the time you wont get one.

If you dont want to waste time with people playing terrible builds, etc ...
Go to TA!
Its that simple really. When you enter RA you know you are going ot meet low of the lowest, so you should not expcet or demant right to get good team there.

1. A team comprises a group of people linked in a common purpose and that includes the 'noobs'.
2. My 'Feelings' about leavers and leechers are pretty much in accord with A-nets. Dishonor will help PvP by bringing in some control.
3. FYI. I don't leave PvP matches (selfishly) because I 'think' my team mates are not as 'uber' as me.
Maybe you should stop posting 'please feel sorry for me, I haven’t played for 2years, No guild wants me, Bleugh' and think about how you play GW.

Control in pvp you get in gvg and ha, you dont need control in RANDOM arena dude, not everything you do in a game has to be controled by anet or some whiners with the /report power.
Nuff said on this subject no point in arguing with a "mature" player like yourself.

A.net hasn't considered that a vast majority of players are 10 years old kids, and they gave a gun in their hands.
- I play 99.9% PvE and with my friends/ guildies.
- Now that I know that there are around tons of idiot kids armed by A.net with the /report gun, which they can use as their idiot brains like, I will play 100% PvE and avoid at all cost to invite unknown people in my team.
- And also will try to avoid crowded districts. Especially with my monk, considering the idiots and the even more idiots "anti-bot crusaders", that will report every monk as soon as they see one going alone outside an outpost.
A good step taken by A.net to improve socialization between players in game.
Guildies or h/h parties FTW.
Just a side note: wouldn't it now be high time to fix Cantha GMC title, which requires you to explore JQ and FA to get it?
I've done with 2 characters so far, and as a cartographer, I actually didn't take part to the battle, just put together some running skills and hugged the walls.
Now, not only I need to wait hours hoping that a battle starts, but I also run the risk to be reported as a leecher, and because of something I couldn't care less like a useless JQ battle (something that would leave me totally indifferent if it was completely removed from the game).

also, i finally got into JQ last night and EVERYONE was hugging the walls to map it, we all just agreed at the start that that was what the match was going to be, then we joined in the middle and danced. twas fun.
apart from the occasional death due to an over zealous warrior.
So i dont think you need to worry about getting reported if thats all you're there to do.
I will be a little worried about people abusing the feature and reporting anyone who looks at them funny. It wont stop me playing PvP.

THE UPDATE WORKING IT'S BEST:
A friend was just reported by a group of people because he was playing his monk at the temple of ages, notorious for it's bots. The groups reasoning? He wasnt in a guild as most bots don't appear with guild tags.
great work Anet.

I'm glad Anet didn't make the HoS runs totally impossible, just a little harder. I believe they gave Magmar more HP as well since it takes a little longer to kill him. I really did like that Anet listened to one of my suggestions in a previous thread about rezing the entire party after completing a dungeon (although, I didn't see that posted in the update). It made me happy. :P

If after Anet looks at the report and sees nothing wrong, but bans your friend anyway, then theres something wrong.

Reporting leechers = awesome
Dishonor system = awesome
Reporting people for later review for questionable names and/or bot activity = why are we doing this?
Botters give Anet better business, it's not like they really care if we report them.

RA was intended for people who are new to PvP, not so called "veterans." It's a place to cut your teeth or maybe try out a new build At least now we know who a bunch of the leavers are now. Cheers to Anet!

Random Arena is for random people, playing random builds. It is the nature of the arena that sometimes you will get teams that are less than optimal.
Of course you are expected to continue playing the match you signed up for even if you know you cannot win. This is the chance you take when you enter into Random Arenas. If you don't like bad teams and don't want to take the risk, don't play there anymore.
Also, if you know it is around dinner time, and you know Mommy is busy cooking for you, DON'T ENTER INTO A PVP MATCH. When you enter into a PvP match, a PvE dungeon/mission, you are pretty much stating that you intended to finish said match/dungeon and/or mission.
If all of these things don't make sense to you, then you are the reason /report is being implemented. You have nobody to blame but yourself for not being able to play. And lets face facts, 10 minutes is not a long time. And if you cannot behave for 60 minutes, then you deserve to not be playing for awhile.
GG Anet. TYVM TIMEOUTS FTW!

The questionable names thing annoys me too. My mesmer R A C C O O N has had a few people tell me my name is apparently racist. I'm Australian so I have no idea if this means anything to anyone else.
But my mesmer is my main, in full obsidian, has all the titles etc. No way I'm deleting it because someone thinks the name is offensive. I chose the name Raccoon because mesmers wear masks and Raccoons have the mask pattern on their eyes.

I guess its up to Anet how they proceed with these kind of issues, as you clearly dont mean it in the manner in which the reporters think you do.

Let them report you, i doubt Anet will ban you. Your name is not offensive.

The time-outs encourage griefers to sync with one damage dealer and 3 prot/healers. All they have to do is make one kill and they just heal away for the remainder of the match.

In summary, I responded to Horukus post and I never accused you of anything. But!, you felt it was ok to lash out with personal insults.
Are you insulting me at random, because no one loves you? because your feeling guilty about being a leaver? because you may get labelled as a 'leaver'?
Guilt maybe? hmm!. Yeah that may be it. Dumps teams for selfish reasons then pretends it's because the others were unworthy 'noobs'. Or maybe your a really cool player; But, your really not very cool on this forum.
If you were a cool player, someone people would respect, you would probably have the sense to explain to your team mates that 'x is waste of time' and use /resign. But you don't, as you now admit.
It's sounds like, if it's not, me, me, me, it's rage quit and dash onto the forums to take it out on someone else.
Oh, and now you get smacked on the forum you don't want to fight. Is this where you rage quit for another 2 years...
