HM Spectral Vaettir (Glacial Stones mainly)
Maverick2201
ragnagard, thanks so much for your suggestion about Kilroy's PunchOut... I hadn't ever done it before but after taking my lvl 12 Ele there last night, it only took me 3.5 hrs to get him to lvl 20. Now my build is complete and all I need is to access hard mode...
I'd never leveled up so fast... the hardest part is getting to lvl 10 to get into EotN...

HM is very easy to get as many Gwen missions are too short. Maybe the pre-last mission is the only one that maybe called "long".

I was just asking if it isnt a bit risky. counting on the 10 hits you can handle, 24 vaettirs are 2 * resistance and beyond. If SoA had the casting time of Shielding Hands.... i would love it . I think that ranger + bonder / ele is faster and safer hehe. As you still need a smiter, being human... or not. Maverick2201
Yeah all I have left is the last mission for the Ebon Vangard and then the final 3 missions...

Question, but in the video he showed a spot that a worm sometimes spawns.... but has there always been a worm boss there sometimes?
absolutcrobi
Yeah there is a random warrior wurm boss that will occasionally spawn there, as well as like 8 other places in gwen. He has Earthshaker.

sorry if this has been explained already but now two of my friends have that wierd situation :/

I'd never leveled up so fast... the hardest part is getting to lvl 10 to get into EotN... did they change the level requirement?? I though you need to be level 20 to access EOTN?? have not played PvE for awhile??? Arduin

have not played PvE for awhile??? They lowered the level since the Blowout Event, if I'm correct. You now get a buff untill you are level 20. ThorDiantral
Any way for a warrior to do this farm? W/Me triple chop/hundred blades?

Thor Diantral If some warrior build worked here... you'll have notice it... as I would have posted it at Or. Post. No way you can handle this in HM with a warrior, because of hexes. Clumsiness and/or some others. Levelup a ele or even a Ranger if you wanna go Hard. (Or find another build, that would be fun! ) Dante the Warlord
Darn this looks nice, I might try try it after Im done destroyer core farming . How much money would you say you recieved per hour(from the nerf)? Can i also have the names of the skills used, yes i know its listed as a skill template, but its just easier for me that way. Also is this a difficult run? Im just curious to see how hard it is to get to understand how to run this. Thanx for the nice build!
okashii
sorry to bump like this guys, but any ideas about that 36 vaettirs on Hard Mode problem? <as I said without Blood washes blood in log already>
Lord Tetsu
if someone could help me with a build like this without tenais crystals or silve armour since i dont have factions (i can do in nm ode) but in hm i usally die and the veatrais dont die fast i have 16 e storage etc. but yea i will give u 5e or 20k (sow demonstration) and if u guys can help me with in the next 2 days will give u 7e ty ^^
Raganagard awesome instructor helped with this farm and got me a working buildsides the fact that i dont have factions highly recommened if need elp. Nechtan Thaumaturge
Another nice option for damage is Cry of Pain, especially if your Sunspear rank is much higher than your Deldrimor rank. The damage maxes out at 100, and it ignores armor. Also, Cry of Pain casts extremely quickly and cycles in 12 seconds, which isn't bad. It might read as if you need to actually disrupt something to do any damage, but that's not the case -- just cast away.
Cry of Pain does require a Mesmer hex to work, so you will have to sacrifice Storm Djinn's Haste, unfortunately. Just about anything will do, but Mind Wrack seems to be about the best, as it casts fairly quickly and lasts quite a long time. So, the modified build would be: Stoneflesh Aura Glyph of Swiftness Obsidian Flesh Mind Wrack Arcane Echo Cry of Pain Crystal Wave/Teinai's Crystals Mantra of Earth Template: OgVEMJWJzI9VJ9pNEDsEYDuEZAA Attributes and armor should be the same. You want to cast Teinai's Crystals under Glyph of Swiftness, if at all possible, and use Arcane Echo in concert with Cry of Pain. Twenty-five second battles are attainable, although the amount of time taken to clear the entire area is more or less the same, with five minutes being about the minimum. wickedss
Just wanted to say thanks for this awesome build. I am FAR from being leet so a lot of hm solo builds still give me grief (that is to say..it takes me a while to get it right.) However, this build has worked well for me from the get go. The only times I have died is when i wasn't paying attention or forgot to switch headpiece/weapon. I use this build as it was originally posted and it works perfectly.
Thanks again from the Forever Noob. Raging Gainst
I use a W/Me build to do this run as well. Very efficient and with lucky and timing is possible on HM.
Triple Chop [E] Cyclone Axe Dismember Whirlwind Attack Epidemic Mantra of Earth Lion's Comfort Enraging Charge Pretty basic lol have a good time with this. masta_yoda

Well its the easiest way to kill them, and it kills them one at a time which is better for drops. I mean you could just echo the two crystals spells for a total of 6 casts and kill them too but you get much less drop wise.
I've been getting the lower group of 24 all agro'd then maintaining Obsidian Flesh Mantra of Earth and StoneFlesh Aura. then echoing the crystals for 5 casts total before echoing Sliver Armor then repeating with the upper 36 is one big group. Vall Dan

After getting my gloves yesterday using the OP's build, I must agree with above quote. Using sliver only the drops were far more frequent, albiet at the expense of killing much much slower. I hear about this "rumor" that killing too fast reduces drops. I really don't think it's a rumor after what I saw yesterday. Awakener
Hey, just a question..
When ever I zone.. I don't get 60 foes, I only get 32.. any reasons why? Gli
I've been farming this with an Elementalist, but with the Easter weekend (golden eggs!) coming up, I needed a decent farm for my main, a Ranger. Sat down for a while and came up with something that works pretty well on HM. Slower than Elementalist, but capable of a full 60 kill clearance, solo.
Without further ado: OgYTk47gZSb4rKXkHiUEZA54uEA [skill]Obsidian Flesh[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill] Ebon Battle Standard of Honor [skill]Sliver Armor[/skill] Light of Deldrimor [skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Serpent's Quickness[/skill] Dwarven Stability Attributes: Wilderness 12, Earth 12, Expertise 3 Equipment: Full Radiant armor with 4 Attunement runes and a Wilderness headpiece with superior Wilderness rune; 20 energy staff with 20% longer enchantment duration. (For a total of 61 energy.) Keep Serpent's, Obsidian and Stoneflesh up at all times. Use the Glyph to manage your energy. Don't rush, keep your energy up. Use Light to soften up the little buggers, and Battle Standard/Sliver to kill them off one at a time. Yes, the Battle Standard adds armor ignoring damage to every sliver hit, boosting it to a respectable 20 damage with maxed Vanguard! It takes practice getting the timing right because Obsidian and Stoneflesh have a pretty tiny recast window. It's easy being caught unable to refresh them if you get too eager casting your offense. Luckily, the build holds up with quite a bit of DP, making practice easy. P.S. my Ranger being my main, I have max ranks in all 3 Reputation tracks involved in the build. I have no idea how it holds up using lesser ranks. Edited to add attributes. monk of the godss

Don't you have to do Blood Washes Blood in order do even get EotN HM? Its part of the Norn quests to beat the game...
Only thing I could think of is if you beat EotN on another char, created this new one and haven't done BwB quest on the char you're trying to farm with... Maverick2201

The answer is in the build code I posted, but here they are anyway: Wilderness 12, Earth 12, Expertise 3 (mostly useless). That's without runes of course. (I put them in my original post as well for convenience.)

Do you have to use Dwarven Stability to keep Serpent's Quickness up at all times?

Yep, that's what it's there for.

I have a problem using the original build
I keep everything up and running fine etc etc, but then they start damaging me! They do 1 to 2 damage, but there is so many they kill me. ? I had a DP. Oh and once the damage just stopped at 20hp lol Skinny Corpse

Well I finally beat EotN, got HM and got my Ele in there w/ 60 vaettirs. The OP's build works fantastic and the drops are quite good. In about 2 hrs of farming last night, I got 51 stones, 15 gold items (w/ a couple decent mods) and a ton of merch food.
The ONLY problem I have with this build (and its an unavoidable one) is that I can't aggro enough vaettirs at once. I cast all my stuff, aggro a bunch and then I have to stand still to cast stoneflesh again. Seems as soon as I stand still, they surround and body-block me so I can't move anymore. Other than that, the build is fantastic. Thanks so much for talking me out of trying this with my ranger. absolutcrobi
the more you practice the better you will get at getting larger groups. If many many runs i regularly get the lower 24 in one group and the rest in another.
tox_169
Same, I try to aggro as much as I can while plodding along with Obsidian Flesh on. Say there's a group on my left and one a bit further in front of me. I walk closer to the group out front, then wand the left group so they can join the fun. Sometimes walking diagonally (pressing keys WA or WD) works for me to move out of the body block and aggro an additional group.
But as I've observed, I get more drops taking on smaller groups rather than bunching them all up, so I've tended to do that now. I usually do the farm run to relax anyway, farming the stones for my characters / gift to friends, so no pressure on myself for "best kill/time" ratio. For variation though I do try to take on the vaettirs the way absolutcrobi does. Sora267

Just buy them all (500 miserably gold coins) or bring a VS earth defense shield hakon
if your tring for glacial stones do a 600 smite with a monk i get about 20 a run with it
Mr. Undisclosed
Hey, love the farm been doing it for a while today. Was curious, how much do you sell your stones for and about how long does it take you?
absolutcrobi
When this first came out, like 25k for 100, now its more like 15k or so, really depends on how desperate the person is. Last time i traded 60 or so for 3 ectos.

Other than that, the build is fantastic. Thanks so much for talking me out of trying this with my ranger. I never get stuck with the vaettirs since I got the hang of how to move around. You have to twist and turn a lot, moving so freshly aggrod ones come up behind you while the bulk of the ones you already got stuck on you is also behind you. New ones will try to circle you, but they move in pretty slowly. Once you avoid getting circled and get them to attack you, they'll never try to circle you again. It's only the new ones you need to fear. Of course, time your spells well, don't get caught casting while they're circling you. Oh, and my ranger version of the build netted me 450 treasure hunter points during easter, which is why I made it. So it served me well enough. |
