Bonus Mission Pack Released!

Blame the mods. They shut all the other BMP threads (including one specifically about alternate ways to purchase) and directed posters here. Shame, this was such a nice thread for a dozen or so pages.

FWIW, I expect ANet will eventually offer the pack again, but whether they do or not - it obviously would not be so soon after launch, so maybe we could all stop fighting about it for now?

Very nice. Just a shame all the mursaat rewards seem to be floating chunks of crystal. Weapons, shields and off-hands would've been so much nicer.

Oh well, 3 out of 4 is still pretty good especially since the 3 are totally gorgeous.

The only weapons I don't like are some of the sceptres.

Yea, true, if you wanted them as separate purchases then they would be cheaper in game. If you just wanted one of the cheaper in store.

This is the main issue. Go to any other store where you didn't notice someplace else had it on sale and cry this way - see how far you get. No one's fault but your own. There is little more Anet could have done to inform you - if you choose to clock your ears and close your eyes no one's fault but your own.

Lets say they do this and then notice GWEN was on sale someplace else - so? Is there any other thing where after taking months off you expect to be fully caught up on everything?

No, it's perfectly fair - that is a separate issue from you *liking it*.

Once more you didn't bother to do enough to even note how you can pay for something and expect everything to work the way you want? Not only that but the pre-paid debit cards (that require you to do nothing more than purchase them from a store - I purchased mine from Wal-Mart) work just fine.

If you had the cash to buy the game from a store you had the ability to purchase from the in-store game. If you were looking to save money then having the BMP one sale later is going to *cost* you money (and that was obvious from the get go). The only complaint (and it is one I share) is that online purchases do not get the box - I like the boxes but the BMP was a MUCH better "reward" than the box. In this case you were told from the very beginning you had this choice.

I hope the release it later for a decent amount of money, at least 20 dollars - but then that will also prompt a huge thread of people complaining that it is too expensive (and argue that it should be anywhere from free - after all people who own all three chapters+gwen are loyal customers - up to whatever they charge). I think they would be crazy not too, that amount would make it available and those of us who forgo getting a the nice physical stuff from the retail store wouldn't feel screwed - especially considering everything that we were told before hand and what we gave up to purchase from the online store.

As is many are wanting their cake and to eat it too, while the rest of us had to choose which one. And yes, that is also a selfish idea, however that was the way we were told things would work before hand and I chose the one I wanted of the choices offered, not pick one and figure if I whined enough I would get the other one too. I hope you get access to the quests, but you have to give up something for it too.

Yeah, I was really hoping for some animation from the Mursaat weapons. After a few minutes, the novelty of them wear off, but the other weapons are still awesome. Just wish Tengu could be dyed a color other than Sand.

On each account I bought 2 extra character slots (one year ago more or less), EoTN preview, 3x skill unlock (one week ago), I think it's more than 36 euros on each of my 2 accounts.

I can't log now, but I'll be very pi***d off if I'm not having the BMP just because my purchases weren't done in the right moment.

This afternoon I'll check it ...

This is pretty silly. I just started to play GW about a month ago. Went out and got the platinum edition , 2 cuz my husband plays from our local game store. Then a couple weeks later we both got Factions and NF, and in total spent about 160 dollars. Now I got all my games from a game store, because I like the box sets of all my games. Kinda like to collect them. I dont want the digital codes. So why should I not be able to get the BMP. The money i spent went to GW for the games. I just choose to buy from a game shop to get the box set.

Fractions, lol. I like to collect boxes too, but I chose to not get the box, and instead trade it for BMP access. You can't eat your cake and have it too.

I was laughing because as soon as Factions was announced, there were dozens upon dozens of threads with the word "Fractions" in them. It was nostalgic, since almost no one talks about the campaign outside of AB. And If I was in kindergarden, I wouldn't be able to play Guild Wars!

Point is, that'd still be over $40 Profit to Anet/NC.

Because not having an alternative way to buy kinda sucks when you can't get your hands on a credit card.

I am truly impressed with these missions - wonderful addition!! The weapon skins are AWESOME, then missions are fun with the new skill bars,the music is really cool and settings are very very nice.

Off topic: would the ppl go and make another thread somewhere else about the inability to get the BMP. I for one would seriously not mind at all if Anet released the BMP for purchase in the online store - just to keep these "debates" about "loyalty" and "accessibility" out of the forums.

Or just clean it. I want more weapon skin screenshots.

The problem here is, that people get rewarded for buying from their online store. Only those people. However everyone of us that plays GW had to pay for the games wether they bought it from their store or a game store ect the money still is a profit for ANet. There are tons of people that dont have credit cards and cannot order online, yet they go to the game store with cash and get the game. So why should not everyone that spends the same amounts of money basically, not be rewarded. You can always take the same product no matter what it is and find it at different prices. People choose to buy things where its most suits them but the bottom line is they bought it and spent money on it all the same.

I wonder if the freebie used as incentive to get people to use the online store had of been totally unrelated to the game, like a free toaster or oven mitt, would have made people upset.

but it come down to money thats more inscentive for you to buy it right from them with no middle man, they make an extra cut off it. you are hypocrital for even saying why would they do this. if you owned anet or even stock in a net than you would want every buck that comes your way. it called running a business. get over it and let it go. they offered and you didnt take live with it this thread should be closed

How else do you suggest they promote the in-game store, which ends up netting them more money than selling it in a retail store? Really, I'd love to hear successful ways to promote the in-game store that don't involve giving things away.
Debit cards work too.

Mursaat and Tengu weapon skins seem far superior to the other two, purely as far as skin goes, in my opinion. On completion of Gwen's Story, Goren won himself a Charr Sword.

I'll maybe take some screenshots later when I have a few to post.

Some people use "Credit Card" as a Catch-All for Credit and Debit cards imo.

I wouldn't be surprised to see BMP sitting in online store in near future - more money for ANet + I don't think makers of this BMP wouldn't mind having even more people playing through their piece of art. Heck, even getting it for free later on wouldn't surprise me, the promotion time is over anyways.

Just my 2 cents.

that's major difference between what anet pulled and other promotions. Gotta feel sorry for people who dont have access for it. So far, it was sooo much better than, i.e. Gwen.

i play GW for 2,5 year now; i own all chapters (including preorder/prelease), i bought all unlock pack (btw all unlock packs cost more than required 26euro); i even have these oversized boxes from faction :P

Not going to read all of these posts, but once we have completed at story are we able to go back, complete that story again an earn another weapon?

Yes you can, but it seems everything is customized, including offhand items.

This part was a bit vague, but I will quote the wiki.


So in other words, you can get one of each weapon type for each of your characters, and then you can get one of each type again for your account as a whole, so you have to choose which character to give the extra tries to. Example, a Warrior would need an axe/sword and a shield, or perhaps a strength shield and tactics shield. Or a ranger needing both a recurve bow and a longbow, etc.

i'll prob get in trouble for just asking this but does anyone reading this not have a credit/debit card?? that couldnt buy online?
