How is spending +25% (GWEN £18 @ amazon £25 @ online store) in their store an advantage?

They should of just sold the bonus mission pack in their little store if they wanted people to buy from it.

Annnd the thread degrades to whining. Is anyone working on a single screenshot collection of all the weapons, for wiki or something?

You misunderstand the meaning of "take advantage of". I'm highlighting the fact that for quite a while there was literature documenting the requirements to play the bonus pack. You had access to them, especially if you're as "loyal" a customer as you say. You chose to ignore them, but *now* that you see the sweet skins, well, that changes everything, now doesn't it. "Oh ANET, why have you forsaken me." I understand that everyone doesn't have access to a CC, but for the rest of you... Shut up and get over it. You had your chance and blew it.

Nice update. The weapon skins are great, better than most of the GWEN skins actually. The difficulty of the quests seems well balanced. Not much replay value, but given that it's free and an easy source of nice looking weapons, I have no complaints.

I've pretty much had my fill of pve, but I found stepping into another character to be interesting. It's too bad this idea wasn't elaborated on for a previous chapter, maybe even on a team scale.

Hi ArenaNet, I paid 40$ for this game too (boxed version). Where are my new weapon skins?

Debit cards worked too. If you don't have a debit card, you are probably living in the 19th century.

I'm with CHunterX, it would be great to have all the images of the new weapons consolidated into a single post.

Thanks to all who posted pics so far.

I'm looking for more scepter and offhand pics.

You didn't think the BMP was worth 7 pounds before and that's why you didn't buy it. Enjoy your copy from amazon and learn to live with your choices.

God, I'm drooling over all these screenies now - can't wait to get back from work. Thank you ANet - you've done a great job, didn't expect so many goodies from the BMP

Yeah it’s the best experience I have had in a long time in Guild Wars. Something different and the best rewards yet. I guess the beauty is in the detail. Well done A-team, I am impressed.

ROFLOLOL! It's funny cuz it's true.

Anet made it insanely clear how to get it, and pretty damn easy too. They gave multiple payment methods & purchase places. Some people chose the box over the BMP. bad choice? Maybe. At least they can brag about having the case & instruction booklet.

Yes, I instead chose to support retailers, and buy a better version of the game. That was supposedly to be the best option in the past, now the "best" is to buy it online so ArenaNet get the full money? interesting, I see all retailers removing all Guild Wars games of their stores very soon, let see if they will be happy to sell GW2 with ArenaNet promoting not to buy in retail stores.

And some people like buying online. The ones that like buying online get the BMP. The ones that like buying a hard copy don't. What part of this is hard for you to understand?

Playing GW for nearly 2.5 years and owning every expansion is loyal.

Only mugs would buy from the on-line store.. there is just nothing of worth in it other than the campaigns which are much cheaper elsewhere.

I am annoyed.. and I am whining.. because I feel hard done by, as I'm sure every other normal person who didn't waste money in their store is.

Well, this "mug" (?) is going to go play with his new Tengu, Undead, Mursaat and Char weaponry. Have fun saving money!

QQ harder. Its no ones fault but your own that you didn't buy EotN from the in-game store. Now, everyone shut the hell up about it, this isn't another "WAHH I DIDN'T QUALIFY FOR THE SIX-MONTH PROMOTION PERIOD!" thread, this is a thread to talk about the BMP itself.

agreed

personally i doubt none of us would be complaining if they were to realease the bonus pack on the online store, and hey we still have to spend more money then we should have had to, but lets face it people would buy it, and they would make more money

which is all anet wants anyways at this stage of the game.

Ok this is all well & good for the people who purchased from the online store & qualified to use the BMP on there accounts, but what about the people who havent? wheres that leave us...

I personly have heard nothing about this until today when browsing the forums, the weapon skins look great i have to say, alot better than EOTN weps inc destroyer weapons, ive heard the quest/mission gameplay is good also...

Only question i really have is, will this be availible to purchase from the online store at some point? seems pointless brining out all these awesome looking weapons that cannot be sold, are only usable & customized to the account holder, i for one would really like to see this as a permanent feature for all players...

Perhaps an example will help you a bit.

Store A and store B are both selling item X. Store A is selling item X for $5 and store B is selling the same item X for $5 also, but store B has decided that it will include item Z with the purchase of item X.

Now you, the consumer, decide to go shopping for item X. You must choose between store A and store B. If you chose to go with store A you will received item X and that is it. Had you wished to have item Z you should have chosen to purchase item X through store B.

I personally think it's a *great* way to reward the "loyal" players who didn't try to save a measly 5 bux by buying through Amazon. I, however, am half torn between seeing all you whiners have to fork over $30 for what I got for free.

I can understand it if your not legal age to open a checking account (to use a debt card). But if you're an legal adult without checking account then you have no excuse for whining about not being able to purchase the BMP.

As for minors who play GW, I have to ask, who bought GWs for you? Why can't you ask a known adult to use their card, provided that you give them the cash for it.

wow...

BMP KICKS ASS! thank you, anet! moar stuff like this in GW2 please

the ending of the turai ossa mission is EPIC. love it! great job on the new weapon skins too!

my only gripe is that more people can't have it. i know several people who prefer to buy their games in retail stores so they have the cd and packaging, and it sucks to see them miss out just because they wouldn't give that up for a virtual purchase.

It's funny, because all the qq-ers will probably get the Mission PAck in the stores, at about $30 or so. Then all that "saving money" thing that kept them from getting it in the first place will bite them in the ass.

Does anyone have the Tengu bows? Undead Recurve is awesome. I don't think much of the Charr ones, too undead-ish for the way I see my chars, but Olias, Livia and MoW will be getting undead stuff. xD

So.. bow pics anyone? Tengu, that is. And Mursaat

Yeah I bought my copy from the store because I'm old-school and I like the box. Oh well, I'm not complaining. Just seeing Turai pwn Palawa made my day

good example and all, but the prices weren't the same

but i will admit i did not read up enough on it, i thought that you could buy this pack after OR get this deal by spending 30$ at the online store, which in turn would save you money, not cost more money

also say someone takes a 2 month break, and misses all this excitement about the pack, they go out and buy gwen to get caught up, but there is no chance for them to have any crack at the BMP.

i see your logics, it just dont seem it a fair thing for anet to do.

also anyone that doesnt have a credit card cannot get it that also seems very unfair. though i thought i read something about using a debit card?
is this true, i was under the impression that you could only use a credit card?

i disagree, most people who bought the game from the retail stores just wanted a hard copy of the game. not to save 5 dollars

Tell me to "QQ more", like a nerd from the WoW forums, but it really is not fair and I hope ANET knows how a lot of us feel about this.

[edit]

and the prices were not just a little bit cheaper elsewhere.. were talking 25%. Difference of £7 from Amazon UK and ANET's store, that's $14.

Let me further put this into reference: ANET is having a holiday promotion where you buy one campaign, you get a second one half off. Do you expect that you can go buy EoTN at BestBuy and still get another campaign half-off online?

Pretty sure these have been shown already, but here's a Tengu Recurve as promsied

Why didn't they just have a collectors ed. of GWEN?

This sucks for those on dial up/No Credit/Debit Card, and would be far easier to just pay $30 more in a retail store for all the benfits, hell I would have paid an extra $50 to get the BMP with my copy of GWEN, I pre-ordered before the BMP was annouced.

Sometimes it's not as easy as 'Logging into store B and gettting that free X'

Flame away I guess.

Yes, you can use a debit card. The age requirement to get a debit card is ridiculously low in the US, I have no idea about elsewhere. And if you don't meet that age requirement, your parents are probably buying you Guild Wars anyway, and this brings me back to the fact that if your parents refused to buy it for you, its not Areanets problem. Suck up to your parents, don't whine. Whining is probably why your parents refused to buy it for you in the first place.
