That would be nice, but that would require an update. Changing appearance took about 3 or 4 years, pet storage took 2 to 3 years. Better trade channel was... never.
I'd say the request for high res armor would take anywhere from 3 years to infinity, counting from this moment, if we go by previous requests as an indication. So that's 2013 at the earliest, but it could also be the year 3476. Yay. They're probably thinking 'you guys will get high res armor in GW2 anyway'. |

Well, maybe it was in early beta, otherwise, I'm afraid you're not recalling correctly.

I'm downloading GW right now to get this sorted out once and for all. I'll probably have a solution by the end of the day for you guys.
Please don't download anything from links posted by other people, especially DLL injectors, you're at a great risk of getting key-logged.

KSMod 2.5 was finished tonight and I had time to test it out a bit. I made it on Windows 7 which marks the first time I haven't designed it on Windows XP. So if it doesn't work, or has weird problems for some reason, please let me know so I can investigate. I already spent an hour tracking down a bug to do with Windows 7 and it's default environment causing my old DLL injector code to not work! Anyways, I ran it a bunch of times and the sound effects and HD Textures always seemed to work so I think we're good to go.

First and foremost thank you thank you thank you.
Took me a minute to figure out there's a link on the very first post page 1 to download.
Appears to work fine for me on vista 32 - but I'm only doing snowball dom out of EOTN.
Did I say thank you?

The new version appears to work fine in my WinXP, although I only just popped in quickly to verify it works. But GToB looked fine.

Wow thanks! THIS is how you update
Great example for Anet right here.

Once again great work on your mod. I do have a question concerning the use of this with other programs like texmod, since I use it regularly, is there a possible way of running this and the injector at the same time?
Brett Kuntz
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. Once your copy of GW is set up, and TextMod is loaded and working, just run KSMod.exe and it'll inject the KSMod.dll. There should be no conflicts or issues. KSMod can be loaded at -any- time, though you may need to map-load to get the full effect.

Thanks a million for the new mod brett!
Is it just me forgetting how things look or does this mod make more than just armour high res?

I've set a very complicated password for my GW account lately, and it's fairly hard for me to remember, not to menton to type it down. I'd really love to use KSMod as a loader. Is there any way your mod could input command lines to the Gw.exe?
buchannon
Brett you are RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing awesome! I've been playing GW since beta and always cry when a GW upgrade breaks KSmod. Yay it's working again! <3 <3 <3
PS: you are also pretty hot, post more pics! lol

If this is so, just start GW normally, launch KSMOD after GW starts then change maps to update the graphics to HD textures.

I assume you have your email & pw entered in the target line so you dont have to type it when you launch GW.

No big deal, actually, I can live with it.

Thnx a bunch! Only probelm, Windows 7 won't let me change the setting.ini so I can set the UT99 sounds off, any idea how? Just got 7 like 2 weeks ago, so I don't 100% grasp it yet.

Try launching notepad.exe as administrator : locate its icon in the Start Menu, right-click on it and select "Run as administrator". You should now be able to edit the file.

I'm afraid I got a Trojan warning while extracting the zip file. AntiVir has found TR/Hijacker.Gen Trojan. Is this normal and expected?

But, I did find a way, if anyone with Windows 7 whose having the same problem as I was. Right click your setting.ini, right click go to properties, click security tab, push edit next to "To change permissions, click edit". Highlight your user account, below there should be a bunch of boxes with that you can check. Check full control. Now it should work.

The trojan warning is a false positive. Most cheap AV products incorrectly label any small EXE as a malicious file:

Brett, thank you again for continuing to support this mod.
It wouldn't be Guild Wars without it =)

Although I wholly trust ksmod (and am back to using it on a daily basis) just making information more readily available and such...
I would say all are false positives though...

when should we launch ksmod now? (I also use texmod) so I launch gw with texmod then I can launch ksmod? or should I wait till gw is loaded to launch ksmod? thanks in advance
End
run it after Guild Wars Starts up...I noticed with windows 7 (and most likely vista) you gotta run it as admin...
Brett Kuntz
Run it after you've loaded/ran TextMod. You can run it at the main menu or character selection screen (for best results), or you can even load it an hour after you've started playing GW, it really doesn't matter.

I then kill the ksmod.exe process and attempt to run from the exe again; no joy. Have to reboot to get it to work.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

Running Win7 Ultimate (N). The ksmod.exe stays resident even after quitting Guildwars, and if I try to start GW up again from the ksmod.exe, it spawns another process briefly, but doesn't start GW. A separate launch of GW.exe will start it, but the hi-res textures are not enabled on other players.

KSMod 2.6 is out now. I am pretty sure I fixed the bug that was causing it to not load GW or stay loaded itself. Apparently in Windows Vista/7 EXE's no longer self-terminate like they did in XP
I also added command line switches to the INI file, and tested it out with -perf and it worked.

I'll go try it right now!

EDIT: tried -email, -password, -character command lines and they all worked fine. Also tried it on my Win7 machine, shut GW down and KSMod was terminated as well. Great job!

Thank you so much for this! I discovered KSMod the day it got nerfed, and I am sooo glad to hear it is back! Thank you so much!
Quick question: When I zoom far out the armors go back to low rez or however you want to call it version (they did this with base gw too), I assume this is normal/it is running fine, right? Because they are high rez for everyone in towns etc otherwise.
But really, thanks so much for this mod. I read you don't play anymore, and I am just amazed that you keep working on this mod for us even if you don't use it yourself. That's a lot of dedication and kindness, so thank you so much!
