/rank spamming is really retarded. It gives the hero title a bad name nowadays. I pretty much lost all respect for people that get the hero title 'cause they want a /rank to spam in some outpost to make themselves look like an idiot.

All EOTN "special" items are overrated IMO.

They usually look l33t or crap, or like l33t crap...^^

Really, goggles are rarely sexy. Same for glowing hands not matching the armor set, Bandanas or Mo Zing masks.

And a classic, black armor, black weapons, regardless if the result looks not really good.

I don't know about the choas gloves, but female rit FoW is the only one that I really like. Wouldn't get the hat though personally.

Armor: Any of the gloves from eotn - just no.

Overrated Title: Legendary Survivor doesn’t mean much anymore.

Overrated Stuff: The glowing gloves, tinted glasses, bandannas, and masks are overdone. As is black dye on everyting.

Overrated Armor: FoW armor in general but most especially for Necromancers. Norn Ranger armor is too common, but it’s one of the very few nice armor sets available for Rangers.

Overrated Other: There are some builds that I can think of.

I actually like the bandannas and glasses. They tend to look good with most armour sets, without having to wear the headgear that normally goes with it. I'm also not opposes to the EOTN gauntlets, assuming they actually go with the armour (and don't cause that annoying "missing sleeves" effect). But of course the dragon and choas gauntlets just look awful with anything, on all classes.

I think warrior primeval is a bit overrated now also, because many, many warriors run around with it on. Mind you it does look cool, but it's just too common.

I've always found Monk FoW to be overrated, easily. It's basic, i'll agree, but there're better options out there that look drastically better.

Chaos Gloves, as well, look lame... EXCEPT on female mesmers with long-sleeved attire, because all they get is a literal chaos glove. It looks fantastic.

Female Necromancer FoW armour is totally hot. Male Necromancer FoW armour is just weird. I know, I saw what happened to me on April Fool's Day last year when they gender swapped us all.

- GWEN 'Ninja mask' on anything else but assassin.
- Dragon Gauntlets on anything but big male warriors.
- More or less all ancient armors
...

But then again: beauty is in the eye of beholder.

Well, I think chaos gloves look nice on some professions. I want them for my female ele. (Can't afford them yet, but I'm close) However I'm debating whether or not to buy them now. There are a lot of people who hate them and I don't want to ruin my armor. Personally, I'd like them better if they covered just the hands instead of the entire lower arm.

I currently get a lot of compliments on my Ele's armor. I've managed to find a nice combination for her that doesn't make her look like a slut. I was actually surprised at how many people whisper me and ask where I found the armor. It's nothing special. Just a mix of the cheap max armor.


For overrated, I think FOW armor is overrated. Go to wiki and browse all the armors available for your character and pick the set you like the best without looking at price tags. Then get that set. Much better than simply buying the most expensive.

Legendary Survivor is also overrated. If you achieved this by lots of hard work and perseverance then congratulations!! If not, then please don't bother showing it off. I have a friend that I play with sometimes. He's your stereotypical wammo. Horrible horrible player that will aggro everything on the map. You have to keep a tight leash on him when we play together, but otherwise he's a nice guy so I'll team up with him occasionally. A while back he showed up with the LS title and started bragging. I know this guy. I know that he will never ever in a million years earn the survivor title, so I asked him how he did it. He paid a guildie to go afk in the GH and let him kill him a gazillion times in a scrimmage match to "earn" the title.

Gimmicks like guildie scrimmages, dwarf boxing or FFF runs will get you a survivor title, but please don't act like you earned it.

No I got PKM on my Rit at 300 hours which is not a lot of time. I'm just wondering how do you account for people with thousands of hours and no maxed titles? Thats the biggest mystery in the game.

LoL, you are right its the ugliest piece of crap in the game. I once had a guildie who busted his tail to get one of these, it was horrible!

...if you're a decently good player. By decently good, I mean considerably above the average PvE player. Maybe someone wearing it won't get any "ooh"s out of you, but they'd certainly turn the heads of players struggling to just get through NM.

Confessions of my guilty armor/weapon habits:
- I wear a bandanna quite often now on my male ranger. I got sick of seeing his long hair (which, it seems, EVERY other Prophecies ranger picks), and similarly of just using a mask for almost 3 years now. I tried using a crown for quite a while; I liked it for a while because I had figured out how to kill Magni on my own...and then I realized it made me look like I had cancer, and now it sits in storage.
- I like big bows and I cannot lie. Seriously, I use a zodiac because it's visible, the shiny bits are just nice (and at least they match the color of my armor). I even used Drago's Flatbow for a year...until I realized that sundering sucks.
- My war uses Primeval. At the time, it was far less common than plate or glad's, so I was trying to be a unique snowflake (and who can argue with being able to actually USE your unneeded stacks of bones?). Turns out, most warriors like looking like Sonic. Personally, rust-dyed Primeval + Brute Sword + Tanzit's Defender = awesome combination...but you can't show that off in town.

I must agree that Black dyed anything is just horrid nowadays. The only black dyed armors I have are my 15k monk tattoos, and my ranger 15k druids, because they have the old black on them and I don't want to lose it. You can actually see detail with the old black; now, it's just a method of washing out your entire armor in black paint. Delightful.
