Just to add a Yin to the Yang, I'd have to say PvP titles are the most overrated thing. People bash PvE titles alot, but at least some of them can affect your gameplay in a positive fashion.

PvP titles IMHO, just show that you like to play the same maps, against the same people, using the same flavor builds everyday for years on end so that you can stand around in a town that is mostly full of afk people and spam rank emotes that no one cares about. Or, ohh, I can hold 100,00 Balth faction on my account, oooOOOooo.

No one cares. To each his own. I like my PvE titles and could care less about PvP titles, I'm sure there are plenty of people who think just the opposite.


Plus, I think Obby armor is hideous.

And I've seen videos of top guilds rolling the hardest PvE dungeon with basically their GvG build (slightly modified of course). The top GvG player who doesn't PvE much may fail at a vanquish because he's unfamiliar with the area, but give him a few days and he'll be rolling along just like anybody else. The reverse, taking a PvE player and putting him into a top-level GvG, is just not true.

If Champion doesn't demonstrate skill and dedication to the game, literally nothing else does.

ANY armor dyed all black (so you have plat, that dont impress me much).

FOW armor ('cept the female mesmer boots) (so you have plat or can farm, that dont impress me much).

fame spammers in pve (so you can pvp, who cares....go do that and leave us pve'ers alone).


overrated titles: most of them are, not many are worth displaying. (I only put the ones up I am using at the time, lightbringer, asuran etc).

overrated skin: any one that someone thinks is worth more than 100k, and many of the ones that are less than that as well. Who cares its worth, a sword that isnt max, has crummy mods, isnt worth more than what the merchant will pay for it if I cant change them (and some of them you cant). I judge the value of a weapon based on its usefulness not its skin.

Lightbringer and Sunspear ranks. Look I rode around in a giant wurm for a weekend and I got this stupid title.

A lot of PvEers flaming PvP titles here, typical, they DON'T know how hard PvP titles are to accomplish. That people hate Kaiken chest too, no??

fow us ugle, but what's wrong with chaos gloves? it matches most of the caster armor (i don't have, but have seen some good looking ones)

FoW armor, for Warriors to be specific. IMO it's just fugly. It's sad because I know a few people who have bought it JUST because it was the most expensive set they could buy... Lots of money =/= good taste

Being a top PvPer. Good for you! I really mean that too (seriously, no sarcasm here). But if you're going to be a bad sport then you're not a top anything.

Nothing in this game bothers me, nor do i think anything is overrated. I just play and i dont generally care what people have/hold/diplay. I also dont get why most of you feel people display stuff to be cool. I havnt run into to many people that actually act like that or say that stuff.

So im going to go out on a limb and say Complaint forums like this, from the have nots are whats most overrated about GW.
