How many guilds have you been in?
Rocky Raccoon
I keep reading about people saying that they have been in multiple guilds and I was just wondering; How many guilds have you been in? I have only been in 2 since I started when Prophecies was released. The first I was in for about 6 weeks when I joined my current Guild. If you have been in multiple guilds; What were your reasons for leaving?
lyra_song
Ive been in the same guild for almost 2 years. My first guild. My only guild.
I pwnd U
4 guilds.
First one was a bunch of RL friends, but then we split when a bunch of them stoped playing.
Second one was a guild that I had while in transit.
Third one I was in for a year and a half before all the drama and inactivity became a big problem.
I'm on my 4th guild, so far so good in this one.

7-8 since I started. However most have been with the same people.
1.Split up after drama
2.Reform a week later
Repeat steps 1-2

Two.
The old one, the leader was a whining kid who wanted everyone to suddenly drop what they were doing, rush to the guild hall and have a party with him. Even if you were in the middle of a mission. Let's just say, I hope he kept his censor on. Then again, I don't think "sheep" is censored, so he'd have still got my drift.
The second one is mine. Only people I personally know. People can do whatever the hell they want as long as they're not offending anyone or rule breaking.
And everyone in my guild generally moved on to other games... Including myself.

Over nine thousand....
Sorry, couldn't resist.
In reality, 5, one is my own one-man guild.
3 died, after the leader and founder recruited dozens of people, then never logged on again.
1 my own.
And the one I was in for the better part of last year and still am (I hope, haven't logged in in a while).

One guys even left/rejoined 7 times.

Technically three, but they were all part of the same multigaming group I'm in, and had the same people that matter.

Took me a bit too long to realize I'm better off not in one

One boring "We invite everyone" guil where people sooner or later left.
And my current build, one where people talk and do things.

I've been in about six real guilds, and a bunch of "shell" guilds which consisted of myself and a few friends; they were made to make communication easier between us, and to put an end to random people asking about joining their guild.

One, but it's dwindling to non-existence. I'll probably be shopping soon...

Four
The first one fell apart. I had quit for awhile and when I came back I was the leader and sole member. I eventually just disbanded it after Factions came out.
The second I was in for a few months. Reasonably large group of fairly active people. We were the alliance leader, but the alliance sucked. We constituted anywhere from 10% to 25% of the alliance, but contributed no less than 60% of the faction most of the time, sometimes nearly 90% of the faction. I quit this one when I took another hiatus.
The third I was in for about 2 days because I had never actually met the leader (she was never on) and the person who recruited me started begging for money the same night she brought me on. I only joined on a whim while meeting someone from GWG to buy an Elite tome. I bought the guild a celestial sigil a few days later for the sake of it.
My current guild is just me. I created it, got me a cape and a hall. Now I'm contemplating filling it. I have no intention of ever recruiting anyone into it.

4 but really 2 only
One when I was a newbie and had like 2 members and left quickly
Another one was a quick leave/join too so these don't really count
Another one with a friend we both joined and no one knew each other and officers were snobs
so we both left and made our own successful guild and it's reaching its 1 year mark.

100+ I guild hoppy all the time.

Hmmm about 30 or so. So many guilds go inactive so fast I lose count. -_-
Ec]-[oMaN
10 guilds, pvp based though...Guess there's a higher turnaround there.

one, for almost 30 months---its my hubby and his brother's so I didnt really have much of a choice.

I've been in 3 guilds, but have never actually left the group of people I started playing with. There have been allliance/guild changes/mergers and new players picked up(some left, some are still with us), but the core group of people I have played with for the past 2 years hasn't really changed.
Myself and a few others left a guild full of friends from another game when they all went inactive. We made our own guild and joined an alliance along with some other friends. Eventually we ended up leading this alliance, but decided we didn't really want to be in charge of a large alliance and cut it down to 3 small guilds(ours, our leader's friends, and one other). We went along like this till summer of 07, when we merged into one new guild(my current one) and joined an alliance.

First guild i was in up until about 3 months after factions release, then after it disbanded due to the leader being bribed to join someone elses guild (they offered him a job working at their parents hotel if he did so, odd i know.) Those of us who remained went off to form a new guild. As im the leader i'm still there.
Now if i get bribed with a decent job, as opposed to a crappy waiter job then maybe i'll leave, but not likely.

Two.
But the second one (which I've been in since before Factions) has been in like 6 or 7 alliances. A new alliance pratically remakes the guild, and can really make the difference.

First was with a group of Rl friends. We made a new guild later and that was the second. I joined my third guild after my friends stopped playing. I filled in an application for [TAM] and now i'm very happy there.

Seven, I think. The first one was some random guild I joined for a "KEWL CAPE." My current is just a placeholder with only me and my friend in it.

Two. The only reason I'm not still in the first one is that we wanted to change our tag from tEoA... which was good reasoning.

30-40 <-- somewhere around that.

2, first one disbanded way back in 05, 2nd one since and current leader

I've been in two guilds. The first I joined at my cousin's invitation when she first got me started playing. A few months ago, when that guild was dying a slow death, I started my own guild with my sister and a friend. The alliance I was in with the old guild reformed sans original guild (then alliance leader), and we will most likely stay in that alliance.
Oso Minar
Technically I've only been in one guild. Before I joined the Zealots of Shiverpeak, I was just in a personal guild so I could have a cape. ZoS was my first "actual" guild.

i lost count
i do it on a number of factors
- members
- alliance
- activity
- sociality
an alliance that's quiet is boring and i'm a talkative type
also inpolite members are not prefered for me
and if there are just too much noobs that don't know anything then i just go like T_T and leave
currently i'm not in one
still looking for a good kind and social luxon guild

1st guild I was in was about a week after I got GW, was in that guild for about 3 weeks, at that time I noticed I was the only one active.
2nd guild I joined and 2 weeks later it was sold & merged with another guild, then that guild was also sold to another guild.
the 4th guild I stayed with for about 4 mths until several members wanted to pvp & merged us with a pvp guild.
I staied with that guild for 2 yrs until it basiclly fell apart & rejoined the 4th guild who had left long ago & reformed, I'm with them now.
So depending if you want to count my current guild twice, I've been in 5 or 6 guilds in over 2 yrs of playing, & mainly staied in 2 of those.

On first account 3, second account 2.
First account, joined guild affiliated with clan from another game. Lack of interaction among the members, caused me to moved to nephew's guild. Lack of immaturity in most members, sent me looking and I formed my own with a close personal friend. Still have after 22 months.
Second account, formed my own 1 man guild right out of the gate. Through connections within the game, I learned that the first guild from my first account, was all but dead. (Faction point requirements killed it.) Only the leader was in it, using his secondary account to keep it alive. I contacted him and he gave me the guild. 2 months in now, slowly growing and currently a member of an alliance.
