What's so good about req 7-8 weapons ?
A R7-8 shield I can understand, but if you're using your weapon for damage you should spec more attributes in your weapon mastery than that.

If you're not using it for damage (caster weapon) then it hardly matters at all.

Req.7's aren't farmeable, they just are the uberlucky drop people sometimes get once in their life. Even if you know where they drop you won't find one, ever...

I have nothing official to back me up, but I'm almost certain ANet stopped them being dropped quite some time ago, that's why there aren't any new req. 7 items around.

Im nt sure if this has much bearing on the conversation but whilst doing a few hard mode SS/LB runs I got a few max req8s drop from lvl28s.

Now, i know we cant really extrapolate that to cover all low Req weapons but it seems strange that req8s drop from lvl28 enemies, but req7s stop at lvl19.

Most of the spots are in prophecies, so it's not strange most req 7 items are dropped there.

At least you 'confirmed' that a level 19 can drop a (gold) req 7 item, even though it is non-maxed.
I doubt it will ever be possible to farm max req 7 items like ecto, shards or even gold dead bow.
The conditions are too specific and the chance of getting the item in a reasonable time is very low.

How do you know if a req.7 item is "new"? Does it have a serial number on the back or something? For example a perfect req.7 Falchion may look "old" but it could have dropped days/weeks ago.

Hmm I will believe req7's drop if someone has a screenshot of one unid q7 max damage. But i'll definately try level 15-19 monsters Thanks.

Minotaurs in Elona's Reach, NM.
Got a Q. 7 max armor Tactics Shield , -2 while ench., +41 hp while ench.
And they are lvl 20.

And they are lvl 20. Thats a once in a lifetime drop. Never seen anything myself drop q7 over level 19. It would be a near astronomically small chance but a chance is still a chance.

As far as I recall, but it's been ages since I got the item, it was a drop in the Citi area in factions. I don't think I've seen them on starter island, which is the only place with lower level foes. But I could be wrong on that.
Doubt it was a chest drop, since I did not open chests at that time (and now, since those don't count for title).
Also doubt it was a mantid drop.
Leaving only level 20 foes for the drop.

I don't see any reason why max req 7 items should not drop anymore.
So far, I have had only 2 or 3 of them drop (maybe more, but don't keep whites unless they have special skin). Meaning they were rare in the first place. Ahh could be one of the ele guys that possible dropped them. I've never had them drop from a lvl 20+ , Best luck I've had is that range I gave. Yes they still drop. Dont feel bad even if its gold I dont usuallly keep much. Like those daggers I posted a pic of Since I dont like that skin and all my sin's have daggers that they like and I hate spending anytme trying to sell to other players 99% they goto merchs.

Chest running is your friend Try places like twin serpent lakes it has plenty of white mantle 16-18 and Caromi Tengu 17-19 and plenty of bogskales around level 18

Is it worth farming for these even?

And the Bladed Veldt Termites in Arkjok Ward are level 16, come in large hordes, and are extremely fast to kill - might want to try out those, especially since they drop inscribeable weapons.
