Thing is, is that why did A-Net expect people to keep 10+ mini pigs for 1 year? I mean that's not even practical, we don't have storage space for that.. eh, oh well.

lol, all the time I see people complaining that anet gave out too many mini pigs, that they really screwed up and that they should fix it somehow. So, they fix it, and a whole bunch of people (probably lots of the same ones) begin QQing about that too. By making it so that you need multiple pigs to get the mini instead of 1:1 it makes it so that the replacement isn't instantly as worthless as the pigs were just yesterday, so suck it up and find something better to do than cry about guildwars all the time.

I think the only reason they would set it up so that more then 1 mini pig is needed is to get rid of mini pigs AND to keep a lower amount of this new item then the o so numerous mini pig...although it annoys me that I need more pigs to get this new thing...if its a mini, might be wroth it....still going "WTB mini pigs for 5k!" whever I can to get more...not gonna spend money on what will most likely be as low as the mini pig, b4 this fiasco i mean.

There is absolutely no reason for anyone to have more than one Miniature Pig, or even believe that such an absurd method for gaining a mini (rat) could be thought up. The only reason ArenaNet has done this is to make people pay for a now grossly inflated item, and to get everyone at each others throats. This was a very silly move to make, and I hope ArenaNet rectifies this gross error in judgement before Friday.

This makes no sense to me, especially since minipets aren't dedicated account-wide, but to a single character. Most people do have more than one character and still not enough storage space. Where they would place so many mini's is anyone's guess. I have 10 characters and if it's even on the low end of trading 5 mini pigs for some other mini, that is still 50 mini pigs that I could concieveably take off the market in one go. But let's say that it's higher and trade 10 pigs per one new mini. That's 100 mini pigs off the market just from me. >.<
I still think that crafting mini pets like the mini black moa is the best way to go for the community. Who is making the decisions over there? What the heck is their development plan for the game? Or are they making it up as they go along? Why would they not just make the collector trade an undedicated mini pig for the new mini? Notice I said undedicated...Why should you be able to trade a dedicated mini pig for a new mini anything? Give me the mini rat at the end of the festival like last year(they shouldn't cost an arm and a leg, they should be cheap and accessible) and find the developer for the hush, hush Mini Polar Bear debacle and (I'm sure he came up with this multiple pig transfer thing as well) and quickly escort him/her from the premises. I know the Lunar things will give a chance(I don't trust the percentages on lockpicks, why is this percentage going to be different) at a mini but come on last year I went through like 500 lunar whatevers and I didn't get a single mini pig.
I haven't been this upset with something going on in this game since the original "Dragon Festival" that was Factions owners only. The loot scaling situation was upsetting but this just doesn't make sense to me. I like every other good community GW member passed on all of my extra mini's to guildies who couldn't make the event or didn't play GW at the time. Thanks for trying to penalize those playing in the "right frame of mind" and awarding again those playing on the scamming borderline. Is it any wonder that there have been so many different exploits lately. Those individuals are being encouraged while the rest of us are being alienated.

pig 1 got early from celestial fortunes, ended up giving this one to a friend who started up in the game around july
pig 2 got from the event, gave this one to another friend who started up around september
pig 3 got from the event as well, sold this one for next to nothing sometime in june along with another mini just to get them to move
now I'm not missing the pigs, however, I do feel rather jipped now as I now have no chance at the "special prize" even though I was honestly lucky (getting one from the fortunes is serious luck) and got several pigs.
not really mad at anyone for this just kinda annoyed at myself that I didn't keep one of the ugly little brutes.

The reason is, as we all know, the previous event has given players a great number of miniature pigs, and so in this sense, developers have assumed that players must have kept these pigs, and so making a collector for these extra things seem to be more or less a positive addition to the game. However, the actual situation is, many people have either sold or gave away their miniature pigs, and so such a collector is more a negative addition to the game. Although it still seems fine that we can just trade in a pig for the new miniature, we are now told that we need more than 2 pigs for this exchange, and to make it worse, at this moment where many people are outraged, no exact information has given to give us a better approximate to what we want to do in this weekend.
