well, I'm happy that the Mask is available during the event, not at the end - I always felt that the previous masks - esp Wintersday - given at the end were too late for most of the festival event .. oughta be before .. misses the point to wear em after it's all over ..

I've been left with just 1 for my main.
I guess I should have been selfish and kept the exceeding ones for me.
It is not a problem, after all is just a mini.
Maybe I'll be able to buy it from some other player in the future.

I still have about 10 minis left but.... I think that this is a backwards step from anet.
Inflate the pigs price even is... really is a wrong step.
I cant even believe that they now sell about 10 or 20 times their last price (500g -1k?) or more cause they were the mostly common pet (at that time) even lower than the devourer (yeah, even lower). I didnt sell my group of piggys then and give away some of them to guildies or mates who doesnt have one, put the rest on a storage/mule for my minis.
And BTW... why that mysticism about the number of piggys needed?

Collector armor: 5 items, Number of cookers last canthan new year: 5, Items for each part of the minimoa ingredients: 5 ..... uuuumm 5 seems the round number.
Hope I am wrong and it will be 3 or less but.... 5 is more than 2, less than 12 and common.....

I mean that they are making an offer that eliminates the in-game pigs and/or reduce it by almost 2:1 rate with the collector. Looks like they wanna clean their items database of pigs but without deleting it from the accounts (consideration to the players?)

Maybe i am wrong and they only want to transform the pigs that last after this festival in a new exclusive pet (Kanapig!!)

That said, it says that droprate of minipets has been increased, and that you can "of course" trade for the mini. That to me suggests there'll be a collector also for the celestial rat, so that the nian will be easily obtainable.

I was a little excited when I first heard this, since I still have my little dedicated piggy. Then, I noticed that little "more than 2..." B.S. What!? So, people are supposed to have held onto multiples of these things? Why would you need more than one? This is just another idea without thinking to me, I was unlucky during the last years event and had only 2 minipigs which 1 of them I gave it away. Anet seems to forget the good heart of the community here. Big disappointment from my side.

D'oh! During the last year I've been handing out pigs as free gifts to random nice people that I met in game, in fact one went just yesterday before I saw this. Another great way for ANet to reward generosity over selfish greed, I see. I certainly hope that the collector is having dreams of three little piggies since that's all I have left at this point

I'd bet on a new hat myself, but then I've been wrong before.
Single best hat though? Shurely Shome Mishtake... I NPC'd mine and binned it straight away. Dragon festival (2006) mask is FTW, accept no substitutes. Especially now they've fixed the inferior copied versions to have bouncy bits on instead of a flat texture.

If there isn't, I think I can already safely say that The Usual People, the guys who farm events like these, will end up with enough cookies to get 20-30 of the minipet, and we'll have a re-run of all the crying about how the minipet is too cheap because it is too common. Just like with the minipig.

You gvae piggies away while you thought they were worthless, and otehrs kept them because they had space. Ive given a few away for free to and from guildies in the past... so what? Im happy that I could give a friend a smile. What they do after I was generous in the past, and no one knew about this is not my problem...
I was generous in the past with small things, and will be in the future still. Stop being greedy yoruself. Any and all money I made ingame was through legit trades and gameplay at the current trade prices (counting out scamming scammers every now and then for trying the old switch trick ), and this will carry on being so in the future. Im joining in the piggymania to make more cash this way by posting my WTB prices, and sticking to them +- a little, and selling (or keeping) at an average price currently in the area im in, not overpriced, but also not undermarket.
Its much like real life trading. Buy low, be oppertunistic and sell high to make a profit. No single stock trader will willingly sell undermarket or for old prices if something like this happens.
