The Day That Changed Guild Wars Forever
StormDragonZ
April 19th, 2008 is coming, but look back as to why I consider 4/19/2007 to be the day that changed GW.
The Dawn of Hard Mode
In about a month and a few days, it'll be the one year anniversary of when Hard Mode was introduced.
Should this day be important enough to be considered weekend event or be in a sense of "game holiday" status?

Maybe they'll introduce "Very Hard Mode" ? lol. Every monster has "Boss status"...
Cale Roughstar
I would argue that the day Factions was introduced was the day the GW changed forever, but that is just me.

They'll put in a double vanquisher weekend...or double HM rewards...whoopie.
And, I dont want a harder mode. I just finished the first hard mode.

I'm for Hell mode..
Hell mode is Hard Mode but if your character dies it's deleted forever.

No.
We didn't have an anniversary for Factions, Nightfall, Sorrow's Furnace, greenies, Hero Battles, etc.
Why would this be any different?

I think the moment ANet came up with Factions and a multi-campaign idea is when GW was forever broken. Everything was at its best back in the Prophecies days: whilst Factions and NF provided some positive new changes to GW, it mostly just broke the game.
ANet should have remained with Tyria and added expansions/big patches like Sorrow's Furnace.
It'll probably be some drop rate increase in HM - let's break the economy even more! WOO!

Multiple campaigns were the core concept around which GW was designed, and in part why it was designed in the first place.
Solas
Chuck Norris Mode.
Meh either way i dont really mind if theres an event or not, maybe double gold drop chance from enemies/chests ?

Whats on April 19th?

Feels like it was yesterday.
I don't know about a weekend event or whatever for it though.
Most of an event I could see out of it is a community one, where people have gather-ups to go vanquish and stuff, doesn't sound fun though.

Sweet baby Jesus!
We should celebrate it!
That was the day that they completely shattered our hopes that they actually have a clue about PvE design.

I think they should make a weekend where all players and their heroes have 1/3 health, but henchies get 3 times as much.
Count to Potato
I thought 4/19 was the day that changed gw forever because the day after, [Gwen] was formed and it was 420!!!! omg, HM and 420 on same weekend, so in retrospect its the weekend that changed gw forever

I think Factions changed GW. Speaking of which, I think we should build a fence along the Kryta shoreline. These Canthans are coming over and stealing all our loot and abusing the monk system.
JONO51
I say x4 Hard Mode rewards. Should get more people interested in it :P

nf changed more i gotta say. it was the first time i thought pve was hard (could be i jsut sucked harder then). later, i realzied nf had some ultra imba skills and it became easy. inscribes did more to affect the economy too.
Swift Thief
Even more loot scaling?

I agree 100% that HM changed GW since it ruined it so much, and also so did that PVE only elite skill that we're not allowed to QQ about anymore because Anet thinks its good for the game.
Aren't the same people making GW2?

Hard Mode changing the game? Pfft.
Heroes in Nightfall changed the game.

Legendary Mode.
Where everything deals x50 damage, has x50 health, and Protective Spirit/Shelter are disabled.
Mission icons bear the skull of an Elite.

Ah, the day GW was wrecked. The day of the great loot nerf lie. The day fun in GW died and the grind became king.
I hope the designers at ANet hang their head in shame at how they ruined such a glorious game and turned it into the POS we have now.

I hope GW2 is like Prophecies, and they don't break it. Because breaking a game twice is no fun.
I hate Factions, half the players don't own Prophecies (DAMN THEM!) or are stupid 9 year old Naruto wannabes.

I think the day that changed GW is the day they introduced Heroes. For better or for worse it changed GW into a single player game (for me).

QQ less plz. Seriously you you complain or the stupidest things yet you still play...

Screw you haters, I love hard mode. It makes the game feel new again. When I go into something in HM, I know it's going to be a challenge (yes, even with an SY paragon or a sabway trio). HM brought back that newbie thrill of triumphing over adversity that hooked me so hard on this game to begin with.
