Do You Customize?

And it also depends on who I am dealing with. On a side note, we should stop spamming off topic comments.
Apologies to OP.

Dark Kal, you've gotta be the definition of a "terribaed player".
Albert Algorn
In general some things I customize but most things I do not. Depends if you are thinking of ever selling the item or not.

If you don't want to be flamed, don't say something flame worthy.
On-topic, I like to customize the weapons I use. It doesn't make much of a difference really, but every little helps.

I don't remember if I posted here, but I customize all my warrior weapons. I wouldn't ever sell them anyway so I can't think of a worthy reason not to.

I think everyone is tired of explaining what's effectiveness to you. Go find some other methods to generate funds instead of being inefficient (keeping your 5k weapon and hope to resell).
Btw, I have no issues about not customizing weapons. But saying customizing is being less effective is just LOL-worthy comment. You are sacrificing extra dmg because you need to keep the sword to resell for money. If you are using that sword to resell, USE it to resell and use a proper maximized sword for combat instead.
If you can't afford to do so, just modestly admit it. Don't come up with some crap arguement to cover up your inability.

Let me conclude with this: even populationcontroll customizes.

Do I customize? Yes and no.
If I did not primarily play just one character, it would be an all out no. As it is, I stick to just one 99% of the time. So if I get a weapon that I know is exactly what I want and changing builds will not change whether or not I will keep it or continue to use it, I will customize.
Same for hero weapons. If it is less than perfect, definitely will not customize because I can get better. If it is less than ideal, but still perfect (ie. hct divine favor 20% - who uses primarily divine favor builds?) I will not customize.
Less likely to customize caster weapons, even if they are perfect. Not like they are doing any damage anyway. More likely to customize melee weapons that I know will never sell on the open market (even though they aren't keepers or perfect).
But those last two sentences should be obvious to anyone. I think the more difficult decision deals with the perfect stuff.

Customisation is a must for players that are going to be doing damage with there wepon. If you think buying a wepon for 5-10k being expencive, maby you should try and buy wepons that are more in your price range and customising them if you find it a struggle to make another 5-10k.

If you want to output the maximum amount of damage customize your weapons. If you want to use your weapons on other characters and/or want the ability to resell your weapons don't costumize your weapons. That is my opinion on the matter. I don't customize my weapons since it doesn't matter to me and I've several other reasons, if that makes me a bad player in your eyes that's fine you are entitled to your opinion. I would also like to express my apologies to the OP for deterring from the original intent this thread has. I'm done with this thread, this is my closing statement, I will not respond to any further posts made in this thread.

in my starter gw days i used to customize, now after 2 years of play, i dont customize any more
(in fact i stopped to customize them after~1year of playing)

T1Cybernetic
I customize everything but i am starting to wonder if it is worth it? the +20% damage from a 15-22 sword or a 11-22 staff is pretty much zero and i would like to use my weapons on other characters /heroes across my account but having most items customized means i can not
Is it really worth it in the end? i am starting to think not if the customize was account based it would ease the pain but from now on i do not think i will be customizing anything else...

Dronte
I used to customize my favorite weps that I used in RA and stuff, now I customize EVERYTHING I use. (obviously only daggers, axes etc, not staves and caster stuff coz thats just stupid)
Don Doggy
I don't customize as I use all my weapons on different characters.
Issac
Only gold weapons that have the skins I really like and I know im not ganna sell ya. Like my Brass knuckles or my deldrimore/runic blade. To bad we can't customized shields lol.
kostolomac
I don't customize since I'm a caster.
Thizzle
I never customize greens and rarely any other weapons.
MithranArkanere
Only martial weapons.
There is no point in customizing something if it that customization will have no effect.
And +20% damage to attacks or professions that have not attack skills is what I call 'no effect'.
They must rework the customization.
And add effects for shields and foci too.

Tender Wolf
I don't customize any weapons unless they're the ones that come that way (like BMP weapons). I alternate weapons between all the characters on my account so there's no point in customizing.
Dallcingi
I only customize things that I know I can keep on getting like crafter items or greens... I wont customize golds... especially since I normally play monk anyways.
Odinius
When I heard of charr to be one of the main enemies in EotN, I customized a non inscr r8 15^50 feathered longbow it's 20/20, +25% against charr and +20% and it does some really nice damage. no regrets
And I gave one with the same stats (platinum bow) to my friend which he also customized.
Dual splinter barrage, I just love all those numbers on the screen

Tyla
The only time I wouldn't is if it's a bow for pulling. Basically, any long / flatbow which I can care less about.
Apart from that, you'd be extremely stupid not to do so if you know you're keeping the character.
Editted because Avarre is true, and:

i don't usually customise but i did customise a req 9 eternal bow that has no inherent modifier, to give it extra damage. i upgraded it with silencing and fortitude mod. i gave it to my BHA hero magrid.
oh ...if i ever wanted a customised weapon, i'll get the BMP ones.
i think customisation for PvE wont be necessary. that extra 20% damage won't do much especially if u r up against lvl 28 monsters. in PvP, it is different. all opponents are lvl 20.

Shadowspawn X
I customize everything there is no reason not to because its bad to hold a weapon uncustomized. It is an inferior weapon without the customization and the price will only drop as far as resell value. So I sell immediately or customize immediately, holding uncustomized is lose-lose.
around
I even customize caster weapons for extra wand damage.
Every little helps.

You do 20% extra damage for a measly cost. When you realize that people are willing to shell out tons extra for a 15^50 over a 14^50, it's a small price to pay.

Not customized your weapons if your a war, derv, sin, para is stupid.
Monkey Slayer
Nope. Play an ele, so no need to custo my staff, and I have a perfect axe I could sell at any time for my Ursan weps.
eggs0wn
No I don't. I'm a Ranger and I know I should but I just don't want to not be able to get rid of it since I go through weapons a lot. The only customized weapon I have is my Destroyer Bow because it is automatically customized.
And if I ever get a Dyrad Bow, I'll customize that.

Enough flaming me everyone, all I did was answer the topic question. So stop flaming.
MisterB
Everything I equip is customized, with the exception of a handful of lesser-used wands and staves, +5 energy sword/axe/spear, or novelty weapons, like candy cane, banana scythe, or ogre knife. My heros get /bonus, collector, crafted, green, or drops, but they are all customized.
There's no good reason not to customize weapons for a martial character. Period. It's only 10g to transform a max white drop to a better weapon than an uncustomized one.
