I've been vanquishing a lot recently? Do I also deserve an unfair financial benefit in game? Maybe Anet can give me some free gold?

Historically, Minipets are ALWAYS worth large amounts when they are first released. Everyone knows that. The fact that Anet allow ZoS to get them EVEN EARLIER, shows that there is another reason behind it. Waiting 3 days to get a minipet you will simply keep, is not a big deal. If they wanted to keep them they wouldn't mind waiting, as it is a personal thing to have a minipet collection.

The fact that they OBVIOUSLY got them early just to sell, hints that there is another reason that they got them early. You don't just give minipets early if someone wants to add them to their collection. Especially if they go and sell it for obviously large profits.

I dont understand why a dev would need gold in a game they helped make. These conspiracy theories make my head spin.

They indeed can. Even people who beta tested things such as hero battles mentioned getting a basic GM status where they could create gold, etc. It has been posted in this forum, too.

So nice of you to tell me to get over myself. I take it you programmed for ArenaNet and know all of the commands? While I never said I did, it's common sense that all MMO games give GMs commands to create items and do many other things. And as I have said, people have commented about being beta testers and getting basic GM commands when the beta test came to an end. Search the forums and find it if you so desire.

Now, if you have nothing positive to contribute, stop trying to flame me and leave well enough alone.

If you're condemning the favouritism, then why were you trying to buy it? You were contributing to the problem and yet you're here complaining about it?

ON A SEPARATE SERVER. Not the main one.

Oh so GMs can spawn gold whenever they want, yet devs still need a middleman to sell their minipets for them to get some gold? Head is spinning more and more.

You crazy conspiracy theorists...

So what if they tested on a different server? The code is still in the program and is available globally. An account simply needs to be flagged with GM permissions.

Common sense prevails!

it's not hard to figure, it's not that the devs need gold, it's the non-dev people who are around them that do. you really think that AP needs plats? really?

I have no problems with devs being all powerful, I could care less, if they can spawn any item, HOWEVER, I do have a problem with the power creep that follows. it seems like it may need to be put in check.

Oh? So he illegally bid on an illegal item to "let people notice it was illegally in the game?" Because that's surely better than making a thread pointing to it right? And his complaints after the fact that he didnt win the item were legitimate right?

Sorry I dont buy it.

Oh but the devs can poof up gold (like some of you claim) so why dont they just magically create gold for the non-dev people then? But no, they'd rather raise a red flag by poofing up a minipet early so that everyone would notice and get angry right?

As much as I agree with you, to my knowledge (and a long talk with an Alpha friend a while ago) the Devs had most of their power/commands disabled on the real servers. What they can do now is minimal compared to what they used to be able to.

Even so, this issue goes above devs wanting to spawn gold. They made the game, if they need gold they surely have ways of getting it....if they even needed it, which is unlikely since I know I wouldn't play GW in my spare time if I worked for Anet (too much GW for me haha).

Regardless of his true intentions behind that post it doesn't affect the fact that WhiteWasabi had a 3rd year minipet early. The whole idea that he had one beforehand and decided to sell it is the problem behind the matter. As MMSDome's screenshot shows, it was Andrew Patrick's mini and it should not have been released to any player until the real birthdays actually occur. It was basically free money for the taking - and as everyone should know, GM's aren't supposed to hand that kind of stuff out.

lol

You dare call my bid illegal ???

First off everyone knows he would not sell it that cheap and if i could get it for that cheap I would have been the one looking at a 150 ecto profit at that point lol gg

btw... check the WTB forum lately

Also.. were you in Kamadan when Wasabi was spamming it then eventually found his poor sap of a buyer ?

stop your sillyness

That's not what was stated on his bid and it seemed like a poor excuse and poor attempt at "exposing" the illegal item. But whatever.

You're right it doesnt change that fact. But that wasnt my point. My point is that he was complaining about the "illegal" status of the item but at the same time contributing to it.

But since he's backpedalling on the issue, I wont press it any further. It's pointless.

The person PMing MMSDome is lying. If it was really Andrew Patrick's mini pet, where did this mini and this mini come from? Both owned by ZoS members of course.

Well, as far as I know, there are multiple devs in ZoS. Those could be the devs or the devs could have done what AP 'supposedly' did and gave theirs to a guildie - or the guildies could have had early birthdays - it's hard to tell until we get some official word in here.

this is where the mess up is. lol.

it was probably meant as a legit gift, it was probably not foul-spawned, it probably was a gift for someone with the oldest account, it was probably meant to be sold at a later date. it wasn't meant for someone to run right out and sell it. that is what happened though. that is why people are suspicious.

or not.

the 'perfect crime', is never perfect. now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a crime, I'm just saying it was executed at the wrong time. he should have waited. no one would have said a word.

oh and spawning gold would just be -too easy- devs aren't that stupid, I hope.
